New range of Nokia spy phones
I don’t know about you, but I would definitely be thrilled to receive a brand new cell phone regardless of the occasion. Heck, if you want to gift all of us at Coolest Gadgets the latest Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, by all means go ahead and splurge – it doesn’t really matter whether we all have a phone already, but having yet another would come in pretty handy just in case our current one breaks or malfunctions. Just be a bit wary though if your worst nemesis hands you a shiny new Nokia – it might actually hail from Spycatcheronline.co.uk, which means whatever conversations you hold can be eavesdropped upon simply by dialing a secret code. Of course, if this sounds nefarious to you, how about turning the tables around and getting a new handset for whoever you want to spy upon covertly?

Asus Eee Box B203
Looks like Asus ain’t about to corner just the netbook market with their Eee PC brand, but they will attempt to make a name for themselves in the desktop PC niche as well. This time round, we have the Asus Eee Box B203 mini desktop PC that might be small in size, but big on possibilities. That’s what the marketing department claims anyway, so only time and tide will tell whether this little box lives up to all the hype or not. One thing’s for sure though – you won’t see your electricity bill spike after bringing home the Eee Box B203 since it consumes a mere 20 watts of power, reducing your carbon footprint by approximately 90% compared to a regular desktop PC. The whole idea of the Eee Box B203 is to fit into cramped spaces without sticking out like a sore thumb, while being environmentally-friendly with an easy-to-use user interface that allows newbies and beginners alike to jump in without having to go through a thick technical manual.

Amphibious R/C Tank
I’m something of a fan of remote control toys and this has got to be one of the coolest I’ve seen, the Amphibious R/C Tank. At first I thought it was another R/C beer can transporter (which it can be in land mode) but when the tank hits the water the wheels fold up into the can holders, cool! Oh and it also shoots BB bullets. Check the video after the jump to see it in action.

Yumi doll teaches you Japanese
Do you love all things Japanese, from their sake to their food, games, movies and women? Well, why not delve into that interest like never before by picking up the language? Instead of purchasing a CD and a book, there are always more fun ways of doing so – case in point, the Yumi Japanese speaking doll.
The Yumi doll is bilingual and will teach your child 25 to 30 different phrases by stating them in English and in Japanese. You can press her hands and knee for the different sayings. She will go through a set of greetings as well as some favorite subjects and musical instruments. Don’t let your child go through life only saying “Booonssssaiiii”.
Well, it might target kids but it is pretty good for beginners who don’t know nuts as well. Each Yumi doll is not powered by rolls of sushi but a trio of AA batteries instead. ThinkGeek is carrying her for $39.99 a pop.
Microsoft rolls out first iPhone app
How is this possible, you ask? Well, stranger things have happened, so it is no surprise to hear about Microsoft releasing its first iPhone application. Could this mean that Microsoft is more interested in a rival platform compared to its own Windows Mobile? You can’t tell for sure, but the Seadragon application for the iPhone is a “free image-browsing app that allows users to quickly “deep zoom” images while online”, showing off to users the possibilities of a mobile platform. A little bit of history class first – Seadragon is known as the backbone for Microsoft’s Photosynth, where the latter enables users to take a group of photographs while stitching them together later on into a faux 3D environment. Word on the street also has it that Seadragon won’t be the first or last iPhone app by Microsoft, as they might be working on a voice-activated search engine as well.

New automobile key could help save lives

Teenagers – most of them get the euphoric feeling of being independent from their parents the moment they pass their driving exams, and receive the keys to dad’s car. Regardless of whether you’re from a well-to-do family or will inherit a vehicle that’s as old as you, there is nothing quite like being in a jalopy with you at the wheel. No longer will you have to endure dad’s over-careful driving style, and neither do you have to subject yourself to elder sister’s maniacal forays down the highway. You are in charge of your destiny, be it a shiny new Ferrari or an old Ford pickup truck that requires 10 minutes of warm-up before it can get going. Unfortunately for parents, instead of worrying about their kid’s newfound freedom on the road, they also have to think about cell phone usage habits. Good thing somebody came up with this new automobile ignition key that prevents teenagers from talking on cell phones or sending text messages while driving. That ought to go a long way in helping reduce the amount of accidents, eh?
