The Magic 8 Ball USB Drive

by Ally - on December 19, 2008

In our adult lives, there isn’t much room for a Magic 8 ball anymore.  Granted, I’m pretty sure I still have one around here somewhere anyway.  However, they do tend to make you look a bit less like an adult.  Well if you need a USB drive for your business, now you can pick up a USB drive with a Magic 8 Ball on the end.  If you are wanting to hand out the USB drives then it’s sure to stand out in the mind of anyone that picks one up.

Nintendo really serious about getting you off the couch with Walk With Me

by Mark R - on December 19, 2008

There is no doubt that Nintendo’s goal is to get gamers off their lazy butts. First it was Wii Sports, which required us to stand up and shake a stick at our screen. Then it was the WiiFit, where we stood on a white square and did various calisthenics.

Now the DS is continuing the Nintendo exercise craze with the introduction of Walk With Me. This fitness game comes with two pedometers or “activity meters” that can measure someone’s activity in one day.

LimbGear’s Noggin Net holds iPod and earbuds in place

by Ally - on December 19, 2008

If you are having issues keeping warm this winter, and comfortably listening to your music, you might check out these Noggin Nets.  They appear to be a nice heavy material, that would be nice through the winter.  Plus all the while it was created to incorporate your music, so maybe it will work better.  However, if you already have a beanie and just popped earbuds into your ears I’m not sure it’d be a ton different.  The Noggin Net does have at least a couple extras to it though.

Philips Prestigo Universal Remote Control

Philips Prestigo Universal Remote Control

Philips Prestigo SRT9320 universal remote control is nothing short of beautiful. At the top end is a 2.8-inch color touchscreen with all your channels, logos and all. On the bottom end is a variety of hard keys that control every function. The SRT9320 is fully programmable without connecting to a PC–it comes with a USB connect for firmware updates–though CNET reports its much easier to use the PC for “multidevice macros”. The Prestigo can control up to 20 different devices so I can see how a computer connection might simplify things here. FileBound Express helps ease your document search woes

by Edwin - on December 19, 2008

USA-ONE Interactive has recently rolled out its brand new FileBound Express, and what looks like some sort of rugged external hard drive is but an all-in-one document management search appliance where businesses can connect to, instantly offering new organization, accessibility and security to office information systems. This is somewhat akin to Google’s Search Appliance that comes with Enterprise Content Management (ECM), making it “the ideal solution for medium-sized companies that desire fast and secure access to information through a system that they own outright” – at least that’s what the manufacturer claims it does. Best of all is, there are no monthly fees to grapple with (important in these times of economic meltdown) with no per document charges to boot. All you need to do is purchase one of these puppies, connect an unlimited number of users and store up to 2 million documents of any type. Perfect for business owners who want a suitable storage solution for their data and documents without having to transmit them over the Internet.

Plug-in-Shelf Cell Phone Charging Station

by Edwin - on December 19, 2008

If you have at least five people in your nuclear family, you surely can identify with the clutter gained from cell phones and cell phone charger cords around power outlets at common living areas. Some of us even carry two cell phones to add to the mess, and it can get very overwhelming at times, even more so when you return home from a stressful day at work. Well, here’s the Plug-in-Shelf Cell Phone Charging Station to help ease your troubles, being a convenient new cell phone accessory that plugs into any power outlet that is easy to remove whenever you need to travel. What makes this special is, it does away with the tangles of cell phone charger cord clutter from counters and tables for a much neater and orderly look.

Drift Package Light R/C Drifting Car

by Edwin - on December 19, 2008

Do you follow the Initial D manga series? That’s all about the art of drifting in Japan, and it has gained popularity and interest all over the world for quite some time already. Ever wished you could have a taste of drifting without risking life and limb? That’s now possible with the Drift Package Light R/C Drifting Car from ThinkGeek.

Now these Drift Package Light R/C Drifting Cars allow you to brush up on your drift racing skills in the comfort of your own living room. A special mechanism inside these cars varies the speed of all four wheels and causes them to automatically drift whenever you turn. Soon you’ll be slaloming and skidding around your entire house. The Drift Package Light Cars work great on a smooth floor, but surprisingly you can get some good fishtail action going on low pile carpet as well. Now all you need is some slick tires for your minivan and a big empty parking lot.

Take note that it will require a fair amount of snap-together assembly before you get started, and all instructions are in Japanese. Good thing there are clear enough pictures and steps accompanying each $49.99 purchase to get folks like me started.

After-Lite bulb is green

by Edwin - on December 18, 2008

Want to do your bit for the environment? How about starting by changing all those lightbulbs around your home? The After-Lite is a plastic-based disc that hooks up to the bottom of an energy-saving light bulb, and whenever you turn your lights on, the disc will “charge up”. Turning your light off will allow the After-Lite disc to glow (much more brightly compared to those glow-in-the-dark stickers) to help you find your way around at night without spending a single penny on electricity. The After-Lite itself relies on a Crystal Energy Cell which can charge up within a few minutes, offering enough light to see what’s going on in a room. They’re currently designed for US-style energy saving lightbulbs, but you can do some tweaking to have them fit a modern UK style light bulb. The glow lasts for several hours, getting dimmer and dimmer, but it would be interesting to hold a romantic candlelight dinner with After-Lites sans candles.
