Fujitsu Lifebook 2013 merges all the gizmos

by Edwin - on January 25, 2012

If there is something about concepts that are worth exploring, it is because the mind is freed to enjoy total creativity without having to be bogged down by “details” such as the limitations of physics laws and the like. A concept that works can normally be found in science fiction movies and series, such as Star Wars and Star Trek, never mind that sound travels through space for us audience. The Fujitsu Lifebook 2013 is another idea that has taken on a totally different dimension, where it will function as a meeting point for many of today’s individual gizmos that we carry around with us.

Most of us already own a digital camera, have a smartphone, a tablet, and a notebook – what happens when you need to travel? Packing for all of that gear alone does take up a fair bit of space and luggage weight quota, so Prashant Chandra decided to get creative and envision a future that merges all of these into a single package, using all the shared computing power simultaneously to boot.

Quad Table Tennis Game

by Edwin - on January 25, 2012

I am quite sure that having one wife is more than what a man can handle, but to be married to more than one will certainly induce plenty of headache unless you have bottomless pockets! Well, here is a sport that you might want to play with your wives if you happen to be married to three of them, but I feel that the target market of this $249.99 Quad Table Tennis Game would be a group of friends rather than a cuckolded husband. The name of the game itself gives the scenario away, where it introduces a new twist to a traditional sport, boasting four separate tables that pits up to four players against one another. This delivers unpredictable, exciting play indoors or outdoors, and you can hit the ball onto any opposing player’s table.

Make sure your reflexes are in tip top condition, as angled bounces and caroms are the order of the day. The tables are placed just a few feet apart facing one another, where each triangular-shaped, 24″ long x 18″ wide table will taper to a round point in the front; while the back edge is pitched 10º, ensuring the balls will bounce up towards a player. I wonder what happens when the Chinese master this game. I don’t think that this will ever make it as an Olympic event though – what about you?

Portion – Cooking Spoon w/ Measuring Grooves

by Edwin - on January 25, 2012

Pottering about in the kitchen might be your favorite pasttime, and just in case you are lacking in a measuring spoon as you have always relied on your intuition, here is the $7.99 Portion – Cooking Spoon w/ Measuring Grooves. Not only does this spoon measure both wet and dry ingredients, it is also full well capable of multi-tasking ability, as you can use it to stir the contents of your dish after that! The handle measures up to 1/4 cup, while the spoon takes over the more sensitive measurements of half teaspoon, teaspoon, tablespoon and 2 tablespoons.

After all, getting the right mix of ingredients is the key to a perfect dish – too little or too much of something will just spoil the taste, while you lose some stars among the family where being in the kitchen is concerned. The locking silicone spout used for its handle seals in order to prevent spills, and opens wide for easier pouring. Since it is made out of food safe plastic and silicone, you need not be unduly worried of introducing unwanted and poisonous chemicals into your dishes and food.

Dexim pimps up your bland, ordinary USB cable

by Edwin - on January 24, 2012

Dexim ensures you have the hottest USB cable among your peers the next time they drop by your home, or better yet – you bring your computer over to their place under the pretense of a LAN party. After all, most of the USB cables that you see out there are covered in rubber – they do not glow, and who would have thought that a bunch of LEDs would be integrated within the cable itself? Apparently, Dexim did, hence churning out the DWA065WL Universal USB Charge & Sync Cable that will rely on the wonders of integrated blue LEDS which are capable of scrolling marquee style, along the path of your existing connection. This cable measures 80cm in length, and will have a universal USB connector at one end and a microUSB connector on the other.

Apparently, this cable will work with a slew of smartphones and gadgets which hail from the houses of HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Blackberry, Nokia and Motorola. While Apple was not listed, to enjoy a USB cable that is lighted up like a Christmas tree will require a similarly priced lighted USB cable. Definitely a sight to behold, especially if you love computing in that dark, dark room of yours. Do prepare around $25.50 for Dexim’s creation if you are interested.

Casio G-Shock handset is a tough nut to crack

by Edwin - on January 24, 2012

I am quite sure that all of us take good care of our gadgets, and one of the most painful experiences that our heart can feel would be dropping a spanking new smartphone onto the hard, concrete floor. There is always the slight pause in your breath when you bend down to pick it up, wondering whether the screen has cracked or not. Well, with a phone like the Casio G-Shock, I guess there is nothing to worry about. After all, this is no rugged watch, but rather, a tough-as-nails smartphone from Casio that follows the design route of the Japanese manufacturer’s watches, featuring buttons on the sides near the corners.

The display itself is surrounded by a thick frame, making sure it remains from scratches and cracks should it fall flat on a surface. The Casio G-Shock is shock-resistant (10 feet), pressure-resistant (1.0 ton) and water-resistant (1.0 bar), but I am quite sure driving a vehicle over it a few times would result in some form of serious damage – anyone willing to purchase a unit and declare otherwise?

Epson PowerLite 93+ projector is easy on your pockets

by Edwin - on January 24, 2012

I remember back in my younger days, projectors were considered to be bulky and expensive – and they generally do not do well in fairly lighted conditions, preferring the confines of a room that cockroaches love – in pitch black darkness. Well, technology has certainly progressed a long way since then, and companies do churn out projectors that will run just fine (and silently, too) in a relatively bright room, and at higher resolutions, too. The Epson PowerLite 93+ projector is one of the latst models from Epson that target K-12 classrooms, where it will take over where the current PowerLite 93 left off.

Boasting high performance features such as 200 more lumens compared to its predecessor, the Epson PowerLite 93+ projector will also feature a robust built-in speaker and advanced connectivity features, making it perfect for schools who want to future-proof their classrooms without breaking their bank where an affordable projection solution is concerned.
