The Tiny Personal Guard Alarm

by Ally - on January 23, 2009

The Tiny Personal Guard Alarm is probably one of the more simple ways of keeping yourself protected.  It won’t work for every situation, but it might be helpful to some people.  Especially the elderly that just need to get the attention of someone within the house, but still out of shouting range.  If you make a habit of jogging at night or get nervous working the late shift, this might help put your mind at ease.

Mini USB MicroSD/T-Flash + M2 Card Reader

by Edwin - on January 23, 2009

Brando knows just how many of us out there have a myriad of memory cards to fiddle with, which is why there is always room for one more memory card reader. This time round, Brando has taken the shrinking gun and fired a good dose of its miniaturizing ray which resulted in the Mini USB MicroSD/T-Flash + M2 Card Reader. Almost as small as those wireless Bluetooth dongles that fit into your USB port, this diminutive memory card reader does microSD and M2 memory cards for those who tend to do a whole lot of file transfer. We’re guessing cell phone users will be the main target market, although a small segment of you out there who play with ROMs on the DS Lite and PSP will pick up this $12 device as well. The newer microSDHC format is supported as well, and you can choose from black or white colors.

Tweakers Mini Boom Speakers to arrive this February

by Edwin - on January 23, 2009

If you’ve been looking for a pair of portable speakers without much success due to your high demands, then the Tweakers Mini Boom Speakers from Grandmax could fit the bill. What makes this more different than other speakers in the market? Well, the Tweakers Mini-Boom Speakers take the less traveled road with built-in retractable cables and an expanding acoustic chamber for richer sound. In fact, Tweakers was an Innovations Honoree at the recently concluded CES show, which goes to show just that it boasts not only looks but brains as well. You get room-filling sound with the ability to stack a bunch of it together, and being no taller than a credit card, it is a snap to tote around with you while you’re on the road. The Tweakers Mini-Boom Speakers will play nice with just about any common electronics device including netbooks, iPods, portable media players and handheld consoles. No idea on the pricing, but it probably won’t burn a big hole in your pocket if you decide to pick one up.

by Edwin - on January 23, 2009

Apricorn is name that you should know if you deal with personal storage, and the company has just released what they dub to be the highest capacity DVR external hard drive on the market, upping the ante with its 1.5TB DVR Xpander. Let us save you the headache of calculating just how many more backlog of shows you are able to run out before even that amount of space becomes insufficient for your needs – 1.5TB is able to add up to 843 hours of standard programming or 187.5 hours of high definition programming to your DVR. Just in case those numbers have yet to sink in, bear in mind that’s roughly the equivalent of sitting in front of your TV for 7.81 days straight without getting up or doing anything else except to enjoy high definition programming. Sounds like overkill? We definitely think so.

RepairPal targets iPhone users

by Edwin - on January 23, 2009

There’s just this thing about bringing your car to the mechanic – I don’t know about you, but I can personally vouch for the fact that my car was running fine for a couple of years until I brought it to the mechanic for a minor tweak. Throughout the first two years, I kept to the maintenance schedule religiously, and never had a problem. That is until, the fateful day where I drove my jalopy to the aforementioned mechanic to replace some cables whose time was up – shortly after that, my car started to experience all sorts of other weird problems including the air conditioning breaking down, a busted radiator and less mileage despite not changing my driving habits to that of having a foot made out of lead. Did the mechanic repair something only to jiggle and loosen a few parts without my knowledge so that I can be a repeat customer? I guess I’ll never know, but boy did I wish the iPhone was released back then along with the RepairPal software.

The Machine bOb battery bot

by Ally - on January 22, 2009

There’s no reason that all robots should be created the same size.  Now you can pick up these tiny little battery bots, that although may not do much, they’re still cute.  If your desk needs a touch more charm, just pick up a couple of these in the different forms they come in and you won’t be able to help but smile at the sight of them.  Although, it might cause you to get distracted from work when you start assembling them into strange formations and flip on whichever function the robot you chose happens to have.
