Dolphin 9900 gets a grip on things

by Edwin - on January 24, 2009

Think you’ve got a pretty cool smartphone to show off to your friends? Honeywell is going to put you in your place with this pistol-like Dolphin 9950 smartphone which is powered by Windows Mobile 6.0 (don’t ask me why they haven’t moved on to Windows Mobile 6.1 yet after all this while), complete with a bunch of specifications that won’t get outdated too soon. Just in case you haven’t noticed, the unconventional design isn’t exactly meant to make it into the mainstream consumer consciousness, as the integrated pistol grip makes it confined to harsh working environments that require a tough piece of hardware which is able to withstand the use (and abuse) of everyday work. More details on its specifications right after the jump.

Lumens PS660 Desktop HD Visual Presenter

by Edwin - on January 24, 2009

Folks who holds presentations in corporate boardrooms and lecture halls often might want to check out another tool that could help them be more effective in their work – the Lumens PS660 Desktop HD Visual Presenter. Don’t baulk at the price of $1,995 though, as HD desktop visual presenters rarely dip below the $2,000 mark, making this one heck of a deal considering the functions and features that it has on the plate. The Lumens PS660 has the distinction of being the first SXGA desktop visual presenter in its class that boasts one-touch integrated audio and video recording, HDMI interface and SDHC support. Not only that, the PS660 also comes with other high end features including full HD 1080p resolution, true SXGA resolution output, 15x optical zoom and a five-year unlimited warranty.

The Mini Airplane USB Mouse

by Ally - on January 23, 2009

How cute, a travel mouse shaped like an airplane.  You know, because you take it on an airplane when you’re traveling.  Yes, it is the slightest teeniest bit cheesy.  However, if you don’t mind the corny reasoning behind the shape, it’d definitely work as a travel mouse when you’re away from home.  The miniature mouse would probably also be a hit if you have any fairly young kids with a love for airplanes.

HTC Touch Cruise

by Mark R - on January 23, 2009

The Touch Cruise is one of those smartphones that has at least one great feature worth writing home about with the “Footprint”. This Footprint has nothing to do with carbon, for it is a GPS feature that allows the user to dock the phone in a car cradle and use it like an ordinary Auto Navigation System.

This phone/GPS device also uses turn-by-turn navigation, and has another geo-tagging feature that enables the user to take “digital postcards” with a 3.2 megapixel camera. I don’t have any more information than that, but I’m guessing this postcard feature will allow the user to send a picture, audio file, and other notes to someone else with the proper coordinates.

The HTC Touch Cruise has an operating system of Windows Mobile 6.1, and has a 2.8 inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with a QVGA resolution display. The other features are no surprise: it is also outfitted with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. It also includes a microSD memory card slot, with up to 400 minutes talk-time and up to two weeks standby on GSM.

Ford Unveils Earth-friendly Dashboard

by Mark R - on January 23, 2009

I believe it was Al Gore in his book Earth in the Balance who said that an ordinary car is one of the greatest threats to the environment. Clearly, all automotive companies need to be thinking about Mother Earth the next time they roll their next model off the assembly line.

I suppose this is why Ford has come up with a new dashboard that literally shows you how earth-safe your driving is. Part of it has to do with measuring your fuel efficiency, which is not gauged by a meter or a number, but a picture of a vine.

Apparently, if your driving is fuel-efficient, the vine will start budding and blooming until it is healthy. However, if you are wasting gas, you will be forced to watch that vine shrivel up and die. Yes, it is odd to have a visual cue instead of an exact scientific reading, but I guess we consumers have been trained to react to pictures instead of raw data.

The Four Eyes USB Drive

by Ally - on January 23, 2009

Most USB drives are getting smaller and smaller, some so small that many of us would either lose them or manage to break them.  With the trend as it is, many might find it odd to see this Four Eyes USB Drive.  It’s not even trying to be small, yet it has a reason for the shape it flaunts so proudly.  The glasses are to pay respects to all of the nerds, the misfits.  The long yet thin shape is so that you can not only use this as your USB drive, but for a bookmark as well.

Paniq let’s you wear your iPod on your sleeve

by Mark R - on January 23, 2009

I can think of dozens of reasons why it is inconvenient to travel with an iPod, and the ones that top my list involve cold weather. Let’s say it’s below freezing outside, and your iPod is safely tucked away in your coat pocket. If you want to control the volume or change a track, then you have to take off your gloves, unzip your pocket, and manipulate the buttons manually while exposing your naked hands to the cold.

That, or get yourself a Paniq. The Paniq is a two part system that starts with a tiny module that plugs into the end of your iPod. This module sends out a signal that wirelessly syncs with any number of Paniqmode’s interactive garments.

These garments are of varying styles including hoodies, jackets, and other fashions that I’m not familiar with. The company has teamed up with many famed fashion manufacturers including Zoo York, Killa, iQuantum, Celio, Balio, and Beucre.

Of course, what makes these clothes unique is that they all have six buttons on the sleeve that can control the iPod for Play/Pause, track changes, volume changes, even for controlling the phone.
