This is quite a cool idea. It’s a tiny portable scanner for scanning in business cards into your computer. I collect a dozen or so business cards on every trip, all of which end up in a mess on my top draw, ordered in a sort of last-in first-out filing system. I did a search and found out that the average businessman spends 28 minutes a day looking for lost pieces of information, but I couldn’t find any statistics for the average businesswoman. I’m sure it’s a lot less though… 
A few people may say Homer Simpson and I have a few things in common, one that I cannot deny is love of pizza. Pizza, football, beer, hmmmm heaven. Or should that be Hell.
Hell Pizza are pretty huge in New Zealand (and very tasty so I’ve been told and any company that calls a chilli the ring of fire must know what they’re talking about) and they have what I can only describe as a very unique box. After gouging your self on your favourite pizza you generally (well sometimes, okay occasionally) have a few slices left which you put back in the box to save for later (if you’re like me you save them for the next days cold breakfast (hmmmm cold pizza)). Anyway Hell have come up with a pretty unique idea, the usual flat square box includes a pop-out fold up coffin to store those left over slices.

Trade-shows are great, you get to see loads of cool stuff and pocket lots of freebies, conferences can also be cool from the freebie perspective though they can also cure many an insomniac. I really enjoy making things with my daughter, in the past we’ve made a hot air balloon, Viking ship, countless paper mache creations and the obligatory mess (neither of us are famed for our tidiness). I’ve just come across this kit which shows you how to make a car powered by hydrogen extracted from plain old water, this could very well be our project for the summer holidays.

As many of you already know, the World Cup’s rapidly approaching and is very much on our thoughts. It’s interesting how football and gadgets have converged today with the simultaneous announcements that David Beckham has had two BMW X5 SUVs stolen using laptop computers, and that Toshiba are offering rebates to UK customers who have bought one of their laptops should England win the World Cup for the first time since 1966.

The Football World Cup is only weeks away and I’m already starting to see a few gadgets aimed directly at us supporters (many of them alcohol related funnily enough).
