Remote Control Toys

Remote control gadgets are probably one of the most fun toys out there. Here we share our experiences with the latest R/C gadgets we’ve found.

R/C Mini Tank

August 27th, 2008 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Remote Control Toys

Are you bored at the office? I’m sure we’ve seen plenty of remote controlled toys in the past, but that won’t stop me from adding the R/C Mini Tank to our annals.

R/C Mini Tank is the coolest racing car you have ever seen. It is designed in the military tank shape. It can be charged on the remote control which is powered by 3pcs AA batteries only. Just install the batteries and enjoy playing it with your friends. Here comes with Green Tank and Camouflage Tank.

It certainly doesn’t look too professional, and too bad there are no laser fights you can hold with this, otherwise you and your mate could build an elaborate obstacle course, waiting for someone to make that fatal move first. The R/C Mini Tank will retail for $14.50 a pop.

Wrex the robot dog

August 9th, 2008 by Edwin in Remote Control Toys, Robot Gadgets, Toys

Al managed to catch hold of Wrex the robot dog at CES earlier this year, and true to his word, we’re now in the third quarter of 2008 and Gizoo’s offering Wrex the robot dog for the masses.

Wrex the robot dog gives paw, sneezes, gets hungry and needs to pee, just like a living breathing version of man’s best friend. You can train him, play with him and even reprogramme him into a cat or the original Robosapien. And in keeping with Wrex the Dawg’s slap dash body, your robot dog malfunctions every now and again and you will have to save the day and repair him. Wrex the Dawg has three distinctive moods, including happy, angry and crazy, and if you’re in any doubt as to which one he’s in check the eyes. Wrex’s eyes go nuts, spinning like you’ve just won on a slot machine and stopping on a set that match his mood and desires. Pick a mood and control Wrex the Dawg using the remote control or set his moods to random and let him roam autonomously off the leash. Preorder yours today for heaps upon heaps of fun in one tiny package.

Sounds as though this will make for an extremely desirable Christmas present! Wrex the robot dog will ship at the end of this month, so make sure you plonk down £99.95 if you want one by then.

R/C Dead Fred zombie

August 7th, 2008 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Garden Gadgets, Remote Control Toys

Is this super scary or what? Halloween comes a little bit early with the remote-controlled Dead Fred version, but it looks set to be a surefire winner if the manufacturers could work on reducing the $2,650 price tag. This 4-foot long realistic looking zombie is powered by a quartet of DC motors and two 12-volt batteries, allowing it to groan, scream and talk in full digital audio thanks to an onboard amplifier and speaker. Perfect to keep those pesky kids off your well-manicured lawn. Gotta love Dead Fred’s nasty looking entrails behind.

Axon Anti-Gravity Racer

August 5th, 2008 by Edwin in Remote Control, Remote Control Toys

The Axon Razorback is the first anti-gravity racer RC vehicle in the world, so you will definitely be able to wow kids (and adults alike) around the block with your latest $249.99 purchase.

Similar to a hovercraft but designed for speed, this futuristic R/C vehicle can do speeds of 25mph right out of the box, with a motor upgrade to 50mph. Available in Ready to Run or Receiver Ready packages. Ready to Run includes a 3 channel 2.4GHz surface radio and rechargeable 3 cell 1300mAh 25c Lipo Battery pack. Dual Brushless motors, Lexan Body and Polyethylene foam bottom make it nearly indestructible.

Sounds like fun, and you don’t have to worry about keeping it off sand and gravel as there aren’t any wheels to get jammed in the first place. I would love to have a review unit, Al *hint hint*

Infrared Tracker R/C Car is controlled by a “magic dot”

July 9th, 2008 by Ally in Electronic Gadgets, Remote Control, Remote Control Toys, Toys

Usually when you’re controlling an R/C care you have some sort of remote with a pair of joysticks or a wheel and trigger. Generally the controls are relatively self-explanatory, as you don’t get much more simplistic than pressing a couple of sticks. Apparently there is an easier way, at least with the Infrared Tracker R/C Car.

R/C Shooting Tank

June 16th, 2008 by Edwin in Remote Control, Remote Control Toys

Yes, this is one “war” that won’t consume barrels of oil-per-mile, as it uses batteries instead to get your battle kicks in. The R/C Shooting Tank boasts up to 40 shells which you can make yourself a nuisance with, and it is modeled after the mighty M1A2 Abrams tank.

Suited and booted with the chunky hand-held controller, you can maneuver your radio controlled tank across a variety of surfaces, with impressive speed and agility. Demolish opposing forces and obliterate the enemy by firing real pellets up to 25 meters with the full force and accuracy of this heavyweight military tank. Hunt your enemy and move stealthily into your chosen position, rotate the turret, aim and fire! You can even command your RC tank to obey your battle orders, as the ingenious battle mode allows you to tap in the route you want the army tank to take and where and when to fire. Press ‘go’ and your model RC tank will roll along too!

The R/C Shooting Tank will retail for £34.95.

R/C drink server is just in time for summer

June 9th, 2008 by James in Home Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Toys

Summer is here! And that means hours, if not days lazily lounging poolside enjoying the summer sun, the music, and a refreshing beverage. Too bad you have to get out for a refill. Or do you?
