What a great gadget for employee restrooms or for all those guys that leave the lids up at home. The talking toilet paper will give out your special message to anyone that needs to use the toilet paper.

As soon as they pull on the toilet paper your recorded message will be heard such as “Put down that lid”, “Wash your hands before returning to work”, or even “That is no place for your Barbie doll”. See, it can even prevent children from playing in the toilet.

You can change the message as often as you like since you can record and then re-cord. This would be great for any party where you would like to leave special message for your guests such as “Happy New Year”, “I am not a barf bag”, or any other cute phrase you can think of.

Continuing in the vein of tacky gifts how does a plasma ball (normally cool) that contains a Christmas tree grab you. If you’re anything like us you’ll be thinking “er why”, well at least it’s not yet another daft USB device, as this one needs a power adapter.

I found the cutest gadgets around, if you can call them gadgets. I guess it would be according to how you look at them. These adorable pet plants can be carried around with you every place you go and bring you joy.

The pet plants come from the Orient and they seem to be a huge hit in the UK. Why do they get all the cool stuff before we do in America? They are living miniature bonsai plants that grown in peat moss and are placed in the small clear cylindrical capsule so you can take them with you.

This would be a great way to teach children a bit about responsibility and they will enjoy caring for and watching their own pet plants grow. And the best part is they are much cheaper than a pet dog or cat.

As much as we like flashing lights and nano electrical wonders it’s still nice to see the odd low tech gadget from time to time and this week it’s the Mood Blurb.

The Mood blurb (cool name) is as low tech as they come, they are like your own personal speech bubble that you attach to you laptop to convey your current mode, status or avoidance factor to those around you. Great for conversation starters (and for preventing the odd office slime from sidling up), just attach a Mood Blurb to the holder and watch strangers take notice.

If Archie Bunker, from “All in the Family”, were around today, he would not believe this new innovative way to read the news in the restroom. He always grabbed the newspaper and his reading glasses before heading off to the bathroom upstairs, in this sitcom. Today, all he would need are his reading glasses with the invention of the rsstroom reader.

Yi Tien Electronics created this wacky gadget. What it does is that it actually prints the news directly onto the toilet tissue through a RapidResolution inkjet technology. The rsstroom reader uses a wireless connection and will print out up to the minute news from rss 2.0 and atom newsfeeds. It is configurable via a web browser and can be to give you an unlimited number of feeds. You can choose from sequential, alternating or random mode.
