Gryphon Wings

A new parachute system known as the Gryphon has been designed by ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH and Dräger (not sure how you’re meant to pronounce that). The Gryphon enables parachutists to fly through the air at high speed before opening their chutes, so they could be dropped miles away and fly to their intended targets.

So if you want a free St. Georges flag (3ft x 5ft or a car flag) leave a comment to this post saying what you like about gadgets and football. Make sure your leave a real email address (which we will never ever share) so that we can get a physical address to send the flag to. All flags will be given out on a first come first served basis.

Computers to Catch Workers Napping

May 18th, 2006 by Al in Tech News, Vehicle Gadgets

Computers to catch you nappingWhen I first read about computers detecting when workers are dozing off on the job it felt a bit big brotherish (Which starts tonight, [sarcasm] great [/sarcasm]).

I remember when I worked in a bank and had to go into huge storage rooms to sort cheques, I was often woken up by my falling fowards. If a computer could of detected that I’d of been moaned at a lot more often. However in many occupations this sort of technology could be a real life saver.

Speedy Electric Scooter

May 15th, 2006 by Al in Toys, Vehicle Gadgets

Moterised Electric Scooter

I normally associate scooters with kids toys but the GoMotoboard is the sort of toy that us grown-ups will enjoy.

The latest model of the GoMotoboard electric scooter can travel 15 miles off one charge and has a top speed of 15mph which will feel pretty quick when your standing a couple of inches off the floor.

This model costs £450 but if your after a bargain you can get the previous version for 1/2 price (£175). More details here found via Stuff.
