Bike rack puts bicycles up high
I’ve noticed that in America, most of the bike racks are almost empty. However, in certain places in Asia, bicycles are the primary form of transportation, and the racks might not be enough.
This is why I don’t like going to the big city, as you can never find a parking space. This is why MANIFESTO Architecture P.C. has designed this vertical hanger.
It could be used in places like Seoul, Korea, where space is pretty limited. This system of parking bikes uses the “nowhere to go but up” philosophy.

Razor eSpark Electric Scooter
You know how scooters were all the rage in the past? Well, if you just take it at face value and want to get around in a manner that is more eco-friendly and healthier, then you’ll be glad to know that there is an updated version – the Razor eSpark Electric Scooter. Retailing for $142.90, this is an inspiration of the original E100 electric scooter, complete with real sparks which will definitely light up your trail.
Since it is electric-powered, they will be extremely quiet just like electric vehicles, with a high torque chain-driven motor running in the background. Whenever you want to make sparks fly right before you reach your destination, just step on the foot controlled, detachable Spark Bar. Capable of cruising at speeds of up to 10 mph, a full charge of this puppy is capable of delivering up to 40 minutes of use, which of course, we believe is lesser the more pounds you carry around your waist.
It takes around eight hours to juice up it up to a full tank so to speak, but to work up to 40 minutes at a go, it is a perfect case of diminishing returns. Still, the sparks should make the entire experience worth it – are you willing to fork out the money asked for this?
Smile!- You’re Going to Jail
Some Police Departments in the U.S are going high-tech to help fight crime. They’re installing their patrol cars with automatic license plate readers or ALPR’s. These cameras read license plates of parked and moving cars — hundreds per minute and they can take pictures of the plates as they pass by. If a suspect license plate number is read, audible and visual alarms can alert the officer within milliseconds of the license plate’s capture.
The cameras can also take snapshots of the vehicle itself, along with the date, time, and location. Officials say that if conditions are right, the camera’s can even get a shot of the driver. I guess these things make for a pretty good case against the bad guy. Continue reading » Smile!- You’re Going to Jail
Electric Comfort Bicycle
Cars might have gone electric to a certain degree, but that doesn’t mean other modes of transportation like the motorcycle and bicycle can’t either. This is where the Electric Comfort Bicycle makes a splash – it was specially designed to take its riders on extended tours in unequaled comfort. Using a 500-watt electric motor that will help you tackle tough uphills, it is also a joy to breeze downhill or cruise through flats without bulging up those calf muscles even more.
For larger sized folks, fret not about a sore rear end after a hard day of pedalling – after all, the Electric Comfort Bicycle comes with a generously padded triangle seat as well as 26″ balloon tires to deliver a soft yet stable journey. With padded wrap-around handlebars that are able to reach back to riders for a relaxed, upright riding experience, it will help keep the arms, back, and neck aligned for optimal comfort.
A twist of the right handlebar will let you determine the motor’s variable speed, while pushing a button with your thumb helps you cycle through all half dozen gears. With a maximum cruising speed of 20 mph on flats using just the motor, you can always top that by using your legs. A full charge is said to deliver up to 30 miles of coasting, but that of course depends on the type of terrain you subject the bike to as well as your weight. The Electric Comfort Bicycle can be yours for $2,800. On second thought, getting a used car might be more fun…
Platypus is made for exploration above and below the water
I have reported on a lot of small submarines and other underwater vehicles that I could not afford.
This Platypus (named for an animal which is semi-aquatic) is a small underwater vehicle that is able to go above water as good as some underwater. As you can see, the drivers can sit on this thing below the waterline and control the Platypus from there. Of course, the drivers have to be wearing scuba gear, and the pontoons have some sort of integrated compressor which supplies air hoses.
The Platypus can travel up to 8 hours above the water at speeds of 10 to 12 knots, and if you go underwater, the speed is about 3 to 4 knots.

The Elektra One electric airplane
Considering the big move of getting all of our cars to be electric, I guess it was only a matter of time before our planes went electric too.
NASA has recently sponsored a CAFE Green Flight Challenge, and this Elektra One is the PC-Aero entry. The plane is a single-seater aircraft, and it completed its main flight of 500 meters high and then quickly landing, all on batteries. On its second flight, the Elektra One stayed in the air for about half and hour.
Yeah, that doesn’t seem long in today’s world of flying, and 3 hours of flight time for a speed of 160 kph doesn’t seem that long either. Aren’t we saying that about electric-powered vehicles a few years ago?

Giant Green Machine motor trike could break a world record
Back in the days when I was riding a Big Wheel, there was the Green Machine. The Green Machine had nothing to do with saving the environment, but it was the Porsche of the Big Wheel cycling trikes with two giant brake levers for some serious spin-outs. At least, that is what the ads showed.
A few guys from Parker Brothers, who have also designed a working Tron Lightcycle, have created this Green Machine Motorcycle trike. It has an 80-inch Harley Davidson Evo engin and is capable of going at speeds of 50 miles per hour. Something tells me I might want to take a class before I get behind the wheel (the big one in front) of this. I have no idea what those controls do, but it reminds me of a Speeder Bike from the Return of the Jedi movie.

Griffin Powerjolt Micro for iPad
Own an iPad and do a whole lot of traveling on the road? Well, we do know that the iPad (as well as the iPad 2) sports some pretty legendary battery life, but that doesn’t mean it is able to go on forever. No sir, even these magical tablets need some juice once in a while, and this is where the Griffin Powerjolt Micro for iPad comes in.
Most of us use the cigarette lighter port in the car for something else, and plugging in a charger is more often than not the main purpose. The same applies for this nifty little gizmo, where it will turn the same cigarette lighter outlet into a more useful USB port, which carries enough voltage to charge your iPad, iPhone and iPod. Oh yeah, before you think that this is some Apple-centric blog, fret not as it can also handle other USB-compatible devices as well.
With the Griffin Powerjolt Micro for iPad in your car, you can be sure that you will never have to stop your Angry Birds session simply because your iPad is out of juice – as long as you are willing to invest £17.99 in this puppy.
