The frenetic holiday season is about to come to an end, and this can only mean one thing: we might be fully drained of our energy to be able to do anything much, apart from resting on our favorite couch and sipping on a hot chocolate with some marshmallows floating inside. Well, here is something that you might want to consider when it comes to obtaining an energy boost: AYO. AYO is a new kind of “light energy” which is able to provide workaholics as well as globetrotters an extra energy boost in order to burn the midnight oil on the eve of a deadline, or upon arrival of a red eye overseas flight, so that one will be ready and raring to go upon touchdown.

How does AYO function? For starters, it will surround your field of vision with soft, safe blue light which provides bursts of bonus energy during gray, sluggish afternoons, and is also more than capable of helping defeat that nasty jet lag feeling after a particularly gruelling and long overseas flight.

This is a prize-winning, wearable blue-light system that hails from hi-tech startup Novalogy which will also be able to help overworked and exhausted workaholics gain a jump in their energy levels, as sleep time is optimized to boot. In fact, AYO is so effective, it took first place in the KLM-Air France search for the “most innovative travel technology product of the year.” This is because AYO relies not on ancient remedies and old folks’ tales, but it uses the latest developments in Chronobiology, which is the study of the human body clock, while ensuring its clinically-tested soft blue light is delivered at right amounts to actively increase energy levels, improve sleep, and minimize the tired, lagging feelings that often accompany jet lag. Far more useful than a jetlag alarm clock, don’t you think so?

Who doesn’t love getting together with friends and grilling some tasty food together? The best part about having a BBQ is that you don’t really have to worry how the party goes since people are just standing around to eat food. The only part that would be troublesome about setting up is if you don’t have a grill, and are cursed living in a shoe box in a big city where you don’t have a yard to have said gathering.

BetterBack forces you to keep better posture Tue, 02 May 2017 18:30:57 +0000 Better Back

Your parents can scream at you until they’re blue in the face, but it’s not going to make you have better posture. Unless you actively want to change something, you’re not going to, which is why we carry a lot of bad habits into adulthood. Eventually we realize that the things our parents told us to do were for our benefit, and have to begrudgingly change our ways after the fact.

If you still slump and slouch, especially when sitting at your desk, then the BetterBack will help you change your crooked ways (before it’s too late). For those that have terrible posture, this is the first step to not only sitting better, but correcting your posture indefinitely. This folds around your back and knees, essentially forcing you into decent posture, but in a comfortable, hammock-like way.

Only using this for 15 minutes a day can help your body’s muscle memory know what good posture is and keep it that way. This will work on any chair, meaning it’s perfect for the office, during the big game, on a plane, or just sitting in quiet meditation. When you’re not using it, this will fold down and zip up to a little package size so it can go in your bag when it’s not needed. This is a $59 purchase that could drastically alter your posture, if you remember to make yourself use it.

ICOCO Portable Humidifier – freshen up! Thu, 13 Apr 2017 18:30:41 +0000 ICOCO Portable Humidifier

When you live in a hot and dry area, it can be hard to feel hydrated even when you’re drinking enough water! The sun is sometimes hot enough to cook an egg on the pavement, and getting into a car that had the windows rolled up without a reflector is like voluntarily climbing into an oven. Additionally, anything that has been sitting in the car will give off an odor, whether that means snacks, gym clothes, or anything the dog might’ve left behind.

Since we like to look, feel, and smell our best, we want to make sure that we’re combating the dry, arid place we live in with a humidifier. Since we can’t take the big Vick’s version we grew up with everywhere we go, this little ICOCO Car Humidifier can tag along in its place. This is a handheld device that will act as a negative ion sprayer, air refresher, car oil diffuser, and air humidifier. Thanks to a fancy nozzle, this shoots out atomized particles that will be easily absorbed by the skin.

There are two modes and several accessories, the first mode is accompanied by a yellow LED. This mode will last for two hours and shuts off automatically. The second mode uses a white LED and will last 7 hours with an auto shut-off. Any of the blue, pink, or white color options will cost you around $13, and you’ll need to be careful what essential oils you put in, lest you end up buying and breaking this portable gadget.

The Onyx Walkie Talkies give unlimited range Thu, 06 Apr 2017 18:30:30 +0000 Onyx Walkie Talkie

The idea of being able to wear and use a Communicator like those seen in Star Trek is obviously something everyone wants to try. While we have our cell phones, it’s just not the same as being able to tap a pin on your shirt and have instant access to a friend who may or may not be nearby. We got a feel for this sort of device through walkie talkies as kids, and now that we’re adults, we don’t get to use them unless we have to for work.

It won’t function like a normal long-range walkie talkie, but this Onyx can certainly give you instant access to your friends and family. These are “smart” walkie talkies, in that they give you unlimited range through the cellular data on your smartphone. They have unlimited channels, and easily pair with Android and iOS smartphones alike. They’re lightweight, and can clip onto your clothes or bag easily.

You’ll be able to name the various channels you share with friends to keep track of who is speaking, and a map on the app will show you where the other end is on the globe. Getting a pair of these in black, silver, iridescent cobalt or rose will cost you $199.99. Sadly, if either of you don’t have your phone with cell and internet access available when you want to use this, you can’t.

This Projection Alarm Clock will keep you constant when traveling Fri, 24 Mar 2017 18:30:51 +0000 Projection Alarm Clock

When you have to uproot yourself to travel for work on the regular, it can be tough to feel grounded. Every slight variant of a hotel room makes you feel more and more detached from any form of stability. Not only that, but it’s hard to keep track of when you are in the world. We bring clothes and toiletries with us when we’re on the road which give us some form of familiarity, but the more you travel, the more you start knowing exactly what items you’d prefer to have handy so you can feel more at home wherever you are.

Some people bring portable french presses with them to avoid drinking “swill”, and others like having gadgets that bring a sense of normalcy to their travels, like this Projection Alarm Clock. This was meant to be taken on the road since it can fold down to 4.5 x 0.94 x 3” when closed. It can charge your smartphone, and projects the time onto the ceiling or wall in a bright red light. While it may not do much, the constant of a red light against the wall or ceiling being one of the first things you see when you wake up will at least let you know that you’re in a somewhat familiar place.

You will need 3 AAA batteries to make this work, and it comes with an optional micro-USB cable so you can use the backlight and projection constantly if you’d like. The LCD display will show you the full information for the date and time, while the projection will only give you the digits of the present time. The projection arm can be angled 90 degrees, and you’ll have backlighting options of bright, dim, or off when it is being powered through the micro USB cable. This $26 device will give you some measure of commonality on the go.

These Travel Space Saver Bags help you bring more on your travels Thu, 23 Mar 2017 18:30:39 +0000 Space Saving Bags

When you’re going on a trip that lasts longer than a week, you want to pack enough so that you’re not wearing the same thing five times. However, you don’t want to be facing an extra bag charge at the airport, or deal with the fee for going over the 50 pound weight limit for checked bags. The ideal situation is to have a carry on and a personal item, but what options are there if you’re traveling for an extended period of time and have a suitcase that won’t close?

These Travel Space Saver Bags could certainly grant you more room in your luggage so long as you’re not going over the weight limit. They’re sized medium to large for packing clothing in a vacuum sealed bag that only needs the air squished out of it without the aid of an actual vacuum. In addition to giving you more room in your bag, you’ll also get protection for your clothes from dust, odors, bugs, and moisture, in case your trip takes you on some wild adventures.

This set comes with 8 bags, four being large, which measure 28 x 20”, and four medium, at 24 x 16”. It’s a pretty cheap purchase at only around $18, and will make planning your outfits and keeping them organized a breeze. These double-zippered bags are made to be reused indefinitely, and come with sealing clips to make sure they keep the air out no matter what.

The Talelight Electronic Bumper Sticker will let you change your opinions Wed, 22 Mar 2017 18:30:50 +0000 Talelight Electronic Bumper Sticker

Bumper stickers have long since been a way of communicating your thoughts, feelings, and opinions about the state of the world in a very public manner. You can cheer on a politician, encourage people to smile, or give warning that others are too close behind your car for your liking, all from a paper sticker on your bumper. The problem with this form of communication is that the sticker is going to fade from exposure to the elements, and your opinion on the content of the sticker might one day change.

If you like to spice up what you want the world to see on your vehicle, you could always get the Talelight Electronic Bumper Sticker. This is a full-color LCD screen that was made to survive being attached to the back of your car, and is powered from any standard 5V USB power source. That being said, it comes with a 15′ long cable so it can reach the cigarette lighter inside of your car.

This only shows static images, and has the space to store up to 25 pictures, of which it can play in any order of your choosing. The images being displayed are 1280 x 320 pixels, and can be created in any program. It’s not cheap at around $135 after shipping, but it will let you show anything you think is worth flashing to everyone else on the road. Now if only it could play movies so you could pull it in the car for entertainment on long trips.

The Trtl Soft Neck Support Travel Pillow is a blanket AND pillow Wed, 01 Mar 2017 18:30:50 +0000 Trtl Travel Neck Support Pillow

When you travel enough to care about travel accessories, you will find that getting a proper neck pillow is the single most difficult thing you’ll ever do. Those U-shaped pillows are not one-size-fits all, and in some cases make you even more uncomfortable. I have personally come across a variety of these comfort accessories, and they usually don’t live up to my expectations, or are too big or silly to use.

There’s a small chance that this Trtl Soft Neck Support Travel Pillow will be better than the others as it touts being scientifically proven to hold the head in a better ergonomic position during a long-haul flight. Of course, I can’t speak for it unless I’ve used it myself, but seeing that I’ve bunched up a coat and done almost the same thing before, it seems like this would be comfortable. It has an internal structure of foam surrounded by polyester fleece to cradle your head at the optimal angle.

The benefit of the materials it’s made of is that it can also be tossed in the wash whenever it’s seen a bit too much use. It’s not the most expensive pillow out there at $29.99, but if you travel quite often and have trouble sleeping without proper neck support, it’s worth a try. You’ll be able to color coordinate if you’d like, though if you choose red or coral instead of black or grey, the price will pop up by about 3 bucks.

This Zipperless Sleeping Bag keeps the cold out with magnets Fri, 30 Dec 2016 18:30:21 +0000 zipperless-sleeping-bag

If you’ve ever gone camping, then you know how obnoxious a zippered sleeping bag is. It might seal you into a taco of warmth, but the teeth of the zipper let an awful lot of wind through on a cold night. On top of that, the zipper loves to jam when you’re at your peak of exhaustion and frustration. If you camp more often than not and don’t feel like bringing an additional blanket along, it might be time to get a better sleeping bag.

While you could get more of the same with improved down filling, this NOZIPP Sleeping Bag might serve you better. This is a bag that uses a bat-wing opening and magnets to keep it shut. This overlap of fabric will make sure that heat stays in, and the magnets will let you cool off as soon as you’re bothered by too much warmth. Of course, there are also multiple draft barriers to make sure that no quick gust or oncoming storm will blow into your cozy nest.

This comes in regular or long, fitting those who are up to 6′ or 6′ 6” tall, respectively. There is a price difference that comes with the change in size, being $299 and $419 due to the fact that there is an increase of materials. This weighs around 2 pounds and 8 ounces, with some down filling that should hopefully not add too much more to your pack than you’re already carrying.
