R/C Mini Car To Drive On Your Desk

November 20th, 2007 by Carolyn in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Office Gadgets, Remote Control Toys

usb_minicar_garage.jpgI love R/C cars. They bring back such feelings of nostalgia of playing with them as a kid. Although now that I’m a “Grown Up” and have a desk job, life seems so boring now and I daydream of playing with those cars again.

Imagine my surprise and glee when I went over to Think Geek and found the USB R/C Mini Car w/Garage!! This cute little car and garage set sits on your desk, where the tiny Mini Cooper-like car sits neatly parked in the garage. Read the rest of this entry »

November 18th, 2007 by Edwin in Drinking Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Toys

drinkndrive.jpgWe all know how much we love our booze at Coolest Gadgets - to date we have over a 100 drinking gadgets archived for your drunken pleasure. The latest among these is the Drink & Drive game that is guaranteed to keep you entertained for hours on end, but can you go the distance?

Strategic driving skills are all that are required in this cool Drink & Drive Game. First, you fill the cup with your favorite beverage and place it on top of the RC Car. Secondly, set up the race course as desired, followed by driving the course without spilling a drop. Each car is powered by a couple of AA batteries, as with the remote control. Hopefully this is one where the winner drinks in order to even up the odds for the losing party the next time round. The Drink & Drive game retails for $79.

Stock Cars for the win

November 12th, 2007 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Remote Control Toys

stock-car.jpgYou’ve seen it on TV - now here’s a chance to bring home the stock car experience courtesy of IWantOneOfThose.

Bump, bash, smash and crash, this game is all about trying to total your opponent and eject all their passengers onto the deck. Career around the place with your stock car and try to smash into the side of your opponents’ car which has four eject buttons on it. Each time you slam into one of them, one of the little men is poinged out with a blood curdling scream. Well there’s no scream actually, that’s your job. The first whacky racer to get rid of all of the other person’s passengers wins! It’s not as easy as it may sound, and calls for some pretty hot and dangerous driving, but man is it fun.

Take this non-violent route of settling a score with your buddy by forking out £24.99.

November 9th, 2007 by Al in Remote Control Toys

Battle Wheels Radio Control Figure - Vul Battle Wheels Radio Control Figure - Tyr

It’s times like this I’m so pleased that I never really grew up, these latest remote control toys are cool, Battle Wheels.

The aim of Battle Wheels is to control your robot (thing) and knock your opponents head off, nice. Each comes with changable weapons and a mace for that spinning attack. There are various characters to collect with warrior names such as Tyr, Vul and Bashamon.

Prices start at around $30 from Amazon but you’re going to have to buy at least 2 to get full benefit.

Knight Rider - R/C KITT

November 8th, 2007 by Al in Remote Control Toys

R/C KITT

This should of been on our remote control toys Christmas list but it’s still very worthy of a mention, remember the Hoff in Knight Rider and his gadget laden car KITT, well now you can drive your own complete with the classic red moving light thingy.

This sleek, customised Pontiac Trans-Am was impervious to attack, could cruise at 300mph and was loaded with hi-tech armaments. It could even talk, albeit in an incredibly camp, condescending voice. And now, thanks to your hairy-chested friends at the Firebox Foundation, you can own a fully-functioning, rechargeable RC version of one of rubbish TV’s greatest vehicles.

You can buy the R/C KITT from Firebox for £29.95 (~$60), go on make the Hoff proud.

Remote Control Toys Gift Guide

November 6th, 2007 by Al in Gadget Gift Ideas, Remote Control Toys

Following on from yesterdays gift guide of robot toys, we now have a guide for the big kid who loves remote control toys, suitable for all ages (especially 36 year olds), if anybody is looking at buying me a Christmas present, I’d be very happy with anything from this list, especially those near the bottom *hint, hint*.

With a lot of the remote control toys this year there seems to be something of a combat theme, so they could make a decent joint present which means you get 2 gifts for the price of one.

Robot Toys Gift Guide

November 5th, 2007 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Gadget Gift Ideas, Remote Control Toys, Robot Gadgets, Toys

This is our first article in our Christmas 2007 Gift Guide, lets get that Christmas shopping done early.

The holidays normally mean lots of joy for kids (or disappointment if they received a paltry Rubik’s Cube instead of that shiny new Wii) and pain for parents, particularly their pockets as they attempt to alleviate their guilt of not spending enough time with the little ones through the year by picking up the latest and greatest toys. I suspect that robot toys this year will really take off, so be prepared to fill up that bank account of yours with a respectable amount of dough before you use your credit card and start shopping.

Racing Grannies

October 31st, 2007 by Carolyn in Remote Control Toys, Wacky Gadgets

Racing Grannies

When I was a kid, my favorite toys were Legos, my Mickey Mouse Club Weebles and the set of slot racing RC cars. We’d dig that box of cars out every Saturday and set up the track, fight over who got to go first and we would race and race around that little track for hours. There were times where we would go too fast into a corner and the car would go flying off the track, then we’d have to retrieve the wayward car from under the couch and go another round. Once we fought over who got to go next, that is.
