Remote Controlled Land, Sea and Air Vehicle

December 17th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Toys

remote-control-als.jpgThe Remote Controlled Land, Sea and Air Vehicle allows you to have fun no matter where you are.

This is the remote-controlled vehicle that can be operated on the ground, on the water, and in the air. This nimble craft has three runners on its polynyolene undercarriage that glide directly atop water, grass, or concrete, allowing this craft to race directly against RC boats and cars–but with a tap of the elevator button, it can shoot skyward, executing a rapid vertical climb or dodging and darting through a dizzying array of acrobatics. The high-torque motor is capable of three speeds, controlled by the included radio transmitter, which also controls pitch and yaw. The double-coated, high-impact wings will withstand the rigors of intense maneuvering and rough landings, while the specially designed hatch ensures that batteries and electronics stay secure and dry. The 3-channel digital proportional radio system provides precise control up to a range of 500′.

You can have your fun on all three terrains for $99.95.

Petrol Powered RC Hummer Monster Truck

December 10th, 2007 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Toys

petrol-hummer.jpgHere’s the grown up version of battery-powered remote control toy cars - the Petrol Powered RC Hummer Monster Truck.

This is an actual petrol powered model, meaning you use fuel from a petrol station. It runs on a mix of normal unleaded petrol and 2 stroke oil. Both of these are available from any petrol station which makes them more practical and cheap to run. Mixing the petrol is very easy. You simply fill up a petrol can with 5 liters of unleaded at the petrol station then pour in 250ml of 2 stroke oil.

Sounds like a pretty volatile mix, so I guess having adult supervision while playing this is a must. The Petrol Powered RC Hummer Monster Truck hits your pocket with a monster price too - £349.

Black Ghost Helicopter for the kids

December 4th, 2007 by Edwin in Childrens Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Gadget Gift Ideas, Remote Control Toys

black-ghost.jpgIf your kid is into all things military, then the Black Ghost Helicopter toy could be just the right present.

Not far off looking like an Apache helicopter (if you squint a bit) but sadly without the weaponry, this tiny little powerhouse is so astonishingly stable even an idiot can fly it. We tested it on of our idiots in the IWOOT office just to make sure. As well as being an easy flyer it’s also pretty darn resilient along with full altitude and directional control plus a super steady forward motion. It charges up from the remote (which takes 6 AA batteries) and you should get at least 10 mins flying time before it needs another charge. This really is the most stable and controllable little helicopter we’ve ever played with - and we’ve played with a lot (it’s important research you know). This well and truly rocks.

The Black Ghost Helicopter would make a pretty good stocking stuffer at the relatively affordable price of £24.95.

R/C car features built-in metal detector

December 4th, 2007 by Chris in Electronic Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Toys

R/C Metal Detector

When I was a kid, I always wanted a metal detector. I knew that if I were to get one, I’d strike it rich by finding old coins and lost jewelry. Alas, my parents never thought that it would make a worthwhile investment. Sure, now that I’m an adult I could go out and buy one myself, but who has the time to wander around outside all day? Wouldn’t it be more fun if you had a metal detector built-into a radio controlled car?

Spion R/C Racing Spy Car

December 3rd, 2007 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Spy Stuff

spion.jpg

We’ve seen remote controlled cars in the past along with spy products, but what happens when you combine the both of them? Why, you end up with the Spion R/C Racing Spy Car, of course!

The joy of the Spion R/C Racing Spy Car is not just the thrill of spying. The excitement also comes from being able to watch your every move as you drive to your destination. Can you handle it? It takes some coordination to manoeuvre around chairs, down the hall, and into the living room without being noticed. You’ll spend hours upon hours fine tuning your driving skills. Watch out for the sofa! You’ll see every obstacle in your way. The question is whether you can handle the rush when you are about to hit the dining room table.

Talk about getting the kicks of speed and voyeurism in a single package! This particular R/C Car will set you back by $149.95. Alternatively you can buy a similar car with a night vision camera from Hammacher for $139.95.

ChoroQ Qsteer Mini R/C Racers

November 29th, 2007 by Edwin in Office Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Toys

choroq-minircracer.jpgRelease some stress at the office with the ChoroQ Qsteer Mini R/C Racers.

Normally tiny R/C cars are hard to drive and control like crap. They zip off your desk and land in the trash the minute you hit the gas. Not these precision ChoroQ Qsteer Mini R/C Racers imported from Japan. Amazingly we were able to zoom these mini cars all over our desk with nary a fender bender. Hit the turbo button on the top of the remote for even more speed. Choose from cute versions of the Nissan 350Z or the Mazda RX-8. Independent channels mean you can pit these mini sports cars against each other in a desktop duel to your stapler.

You can buy a ChoroQ Qsteer Mini R/C Racer for $14.99. Check out other remote controlled toys here.

November 20th, 2007 by Carolyn in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Wacky Gadgets

rc_pirate_ninja.jpgYou’ve all heard of the age-old battle of Pirate v. Ninja. Everyone has an opinion on which one is better (Ninjas are*) and everyone is very emphatic about their choices. Some people even come to blows over this particular choice!

Well, rather than let your adversary physically beat you into submission (or vice versa), go pick up the R/C Pirate v. Ninja set. Read the rest of this entry »
