Remote Control Flying Spaceman

by Edwin

The Space Shuttle program is about to come to an end in the near future, and that would clearly see the curtain fall on one of the most celebrated achievements of mankind, which is to have man step foot on the moon first before anyone else. Well, for those who want to simulate the way a spaceman walks across the surface of the moon can always get the Remote Control Flying Spaceman, where this $29.99 device will gingerly “tread” on the surface of your choice as you expertly control him to “jump” from one point to another. Engineered with advanced ultralite micro components and bright diode lights, this radio controlled spaceman ought to deliver hours of indoor fun, so it doesn’t matter if it is raining like cats and dogs outside.

Lateral Drift Remote Controlled Helicopter

by Edwin

Since summer is already upon those of you living in the Northern Hemisphere, just what the heck are you doing at home, reading online news and staying cooped up all day long? Why not head outdoors and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts? After all, before you know it, autumn will be upon you and when you want to bask in the warmth of the noon day, that is no longer as fun as during summer itself. Not only that, gusts of wind will certainly thwart the flight of your Lateral Drift Remote Controlled Helicopter.

This remote controlled helicopter will offer more than just upwards, downwards and basic movement – it will also throw in side-to-side drifting movement that is something you hardly see. This is made possible thanks to a couple of horizontally oriented mini-rotors located on either side of the fuselage, and controlling this puppy is a snap. 40 minutes of charging will deliver seven minutes of flight – diminishing returns at its best for a $69.95 purchase.

RcSuperhero won’t be getting his own movie, but he can fly!

by Mark R

Look, up in the sky, is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s the RcSuperhero!

Seriously, if I saw a man-sized figure flying through the sky, I might think that I was looking at a real superhero. This is probably the purpose of this kit, which weighs in at 3 pounds and has a motor with 6 pounds of thrust. Check it out on the video after the jump, with glowing eyes and feet.

Swann Emergency Strike Gyro Balanced R/C Helicopter

by Mark R

I have had a chance to try out remote control toy helicopters before, and the last one was from the Interactive Toy Company, and it was made out of styrofoam.

This particular one is from Swann, who is quite famous for making high quality security cameras. The Emergency Strike is modeled after real search and rescue operation helicopters, and it is pretty cool.

I got a chance to try it out for myself, and I found that getting up in the air was easy. As usual, it is all about learning to navigate the thing with practice. By the way, it ran into a few things, and it was pretty durable. I also liked the blue and red flashing lights.

Gyro Stealth Flyer R/C Helicopter

by Edwin

How about spending your spare time with your kid outdoors instead of being cooped up at home, staring at the TV all day long or being fixated on a video game marathon instead? After all, there are benefits of being in the sunlight, and getting your daily dose of vitamin D is one of them (just make sure you use sunblock lest the risk of skin cancer is increased).

Shipping from June 10th onwards, you can place a £39.99 pre-order for the Gyro Stealth Flyer R/C Helicopter that ought to help you move your butt to the great outdoors – or at least to your yard! It will fly in a stable manner that even beginners shouldn’t have any issues trying to keep it up in the air. Thanks to simple controls as well as rugged construction, you will not worry about being unable to pull off tight turns and textbook landings without worrying about breaking this little puppy.

With a 3-channel system, you are able to go head to head with another two helicopters for an aerial dogfight, and if you can’t convince another two of your mates to get one of these, you can always make use of the two cardboard targets shaped liked tanks which comes with each purchase, making them the ideal target practice before you are thrusted into a war-like situation.

Remote Controlled Snake comes from National Geographic

by Mark R

I realize that I am too little too late for April Fool’s Day, but this Remote Controlled Snake would be a good prank to pull for anyone who is afraid of snakes, like Indiana Jones, for example.

This wouldn’t be the first time that we reported on remote controlled snakes. About a few years ago, we covered an RC Snake from IWOOT (I Want One Of Those), and it had a weird set of wheels underneath its jaw. This doesn’t appear to be the case with this guy, which is made from the real nature pros at National Geographic.

The National Geographic Remote Controlled Snake is about 20 inches long and runs on 2 AA batteries. It is able to move with a “life-like slithering action”, but it does something that isn’t very life-like as its eyes light up.

Fly like an eagle with Hammacher

by Edwin

Remember the R. Kelly hit song, “Fly like an eagle”? Well, with those living in the northern hemisphere swinging into spring, it makes perfect sense to start planning on how you are going to spend more time outdoors with your loved ones – be it a picnic or just playing catch. Well, Hammacher has a new toy for you to, er, toy around with, where we’re talking about the 9 1/2′ Remote Controlled Bald Eagle.

Now this American icon will now come in the form of a toy, where it boasts of the form of an engine and propeller-powered prodigious avian which is capable of soaring up to 100′ in the air. Meant to create and inspire awe from all who see it, the eagle’s 9 1/2′ wingspan is capable of creating an airfoil which will catch the wind to provide lift and enable broad turns. More on this pretty unique toy in the extended post if your interest has been piqued.
