$1 Million Dollar Apple Remote Control For Sale on Amazon

April 7th, 2007 by methodshop in Remote Control Toys, Tech News, iPod gadgets

Amazon.com is currently selling a $999,999.00 1/2 ounce plastic SiK rex remote control that works with the Apple MacBook Pro, iPod Universal Dock, Apple TV, Front Row, iPod Hi-Fi and is Front Row compatible.

No joke. A million dollar remote control. You can see the SiK rex Amazon page here.

Sound too expensive for a little piece of plastic? What if i told you that the remote can be stored in the ExpressCard/34 slot of your MacBook Pro…

Yeah, I’m not convinced it’s worth it. But if Bill Gates is reading this…. hurry dude, there is only one left in stock!

This is obviously a just a typo. So I took a screenshot of the million dollar SiK rex remote page and posted it here on flickr in case Amazon takes the page down.

If you are still interested in the SiK rex remote control but not the million dollar price tag, you can also purchase one used or from a 3rd party on Amazon.com for only $25.

Another Cool Remote Control R2-D2 Unit

April 6th, 2007 by Al in Remote Control Toys, Retro Gadgets, Robot Gadgets, Toys

Remote Control R2 unit

We’ve certainly been spoilt rotten with Star Wars gadgets of late and this latest bit of Star Wars memorabilia brings back fond memories of my old figurine collection (which I sold to Paul Parnaby for £40 about 25 years or so ago).

We’ve seen remote control R2D2 units before but this one is extra cool as it’s the size of the original collectors figure (they are action figures not dolls).

The R2 unit is controlled via a light sabre styled remote and can move forwards, spin round and even has a rotating head complete with operational (it lites up) LED eye. Think Geek rightly describe this as every Star Wars fanboy’s wet dream come true (well after Leigh in that bikini).

R/C Sumo Wrestling

March 27th, 2007 by Al in Drinking Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Wacky Gadgets

R/C Sumo

This has got to be the craziest remote control toy I’ve ever seen, remote control super sumo’s.

So no longer do you need to binge on chips and beer to get that authentic sumo physique, you can now wrestle your mates Sumo style by twiddling your thumbs, quality!

You can get the 2 wrestlers, remote controls and sumo battle mat for £19.99 (~$40 give or take a few cents). I’m also filing this post under drinking gadgets as I’m sure alcohol is required to get maximum enjoyment out of these.

The Aerosoarer, a super tiny RC plane for indoors!

March 22nd, 2007 by Fred in Childrens Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Remote Control Toys, Vehicle Gadgets

Here’s a SWEET RC airplane for indoor use from Tomitech in Japan.aerosoarer

I want one bad! (plus it looks to be around $19USD at Play Asia).

Let’ just do it this way,, here’s the video.

It’s powered in the same way as the PicooZ and it’s ilk, in other words, the main batteries are stored in the radio, (that kinda looks like crap).  It’s plugged into the radio and charges what’s likely a lithium polymer or other small high capacity battery (or capacitor) and off you fly!

It looks like a ton of fun, (unless you don’t like flying planes inside your own home).

R/C Flying Doraemon for Sale

March 4th, 2007 by Al in Remote Control Toys, Wacky Gadgets

Flying Doraemon

I can’t say I’m a particular fan of Manga cartoons but for those who are and especially those who are fans of Doraemon this is quite possibly the ultimate toy, your very own remote-control flying Doraemon.

Whether you’re a fan of Manga or not this still looks pretty cool, an inane flying cat that you control. The specifications are limited to say the least but for a tiny bit of more info and availability check out geekstuff4u.

R/C Water Cannon

March 1st, 2007 by Al in Remote Control Toys

Water CannonThis gadget really appeals to my somewhat childish nature, the Radio-controlled Water Cannon.

The remote control water cannon works like the radio-controlled drinks tray (i.e. you can sail it around your pool) but instead of serving your guests drinks you can give them a soaking instead. The water nozzle is adjustable and has a range of about 10′ so ambushing people walking past the pool is a distinct possibility :) .

You can get the R/C water cannon from Frontgate, found via Uber Review thanks Tiago.

Remote Control Microkite

February 18th, 2007 by Al in Remote Control Toys

Remote Control Microkite

I’ve just had an over excited email from my friend Arran owner of the Gadget Box shop. He’s just taken delivery of the very cool looking R/C Microkite.

I’d love to see a video of the Microkite in action (or even film it myself hint hint), it certainly looks different to those boring old R/C planes and copters.

The Microkite isn’t cheap costing £74.99 ($149.98) but who says the best things in life are free. Available from Gadget Box.
