Backyard Inflatable Water Park

by Edwin

With summer being just around the corner, it makes perfect sense to get some sort of backyard toys for the kids to have their fair share of fun as school grinds to a halt.

Rising 10 1/2′ into the air, this is the backyard inflatable water park with a tunnel slide that passes beneath a larger traditional slide, both of which are constantly irrigated by built-in sprinklers and have splash pools at the end of each, making it ideal for summer fun. An included 960-watt electric air blower plugs into AC and inflates the park easily and quickly, keeping it resilient and firm. The 0.3 mm-thick PVC shell will withstand years of play, and resists mold and fading. Eight 18″-long stakes firmly secure the park to the ground; four additional stakes keep the air blower and air hose rigidly fixed in one place. Four water bags affix to the side of the slide to provide further stabilization. The sprinklers attach to one garden hose, requiring no additional configuration.

Unfortunately for us adults, we’ll have to head off to a water park if we want to relive our childhood moments on this, as the $499.95 toy is meant for kids aged between 5 to 12 years old only.

Cyclops Visor replica

by Edwin

Ever wondered how Cyclops aka Scott Summers viewed the world from his ruby quartz visor? Sure, he isn’t as manly as Wolverine, but he will definitely be a person whom mom would approve of you bringing home. Get a glimpse into his world with the Cyclops Visor replica.

This Cyclops Visor replica is authentically duplicated from the actual 20th Century Fox filming prop. Ruby quartz being a little too expensive to use, this replica has red iridium polarized sunglass lens (which means they function as regular shades, too). The Cyclops Visor Replica folds to a convenient size and can be stored in the included full metal display box. The box is a piece of art too – embossed with the X-Men logo as it is. Inside is also a visor blueprint. With this replica, you can pretend to be Cyclops and lead the X-Men into battle (even if that battle is just against your evil Office Manager).

Each $74.99 purchase comes with a certificate of authenticity just in case your mates get jealous of your affluent nerdiness and start to heckle you about it being a fraud.

32 Foot Water Blaster

by Edwin

water-blaster.jpgSummer will soon rear its head, and boy am I looking forward to a more sunny disposition. The 32 Foot Water Blaster will be perfect for any poolside activities if you happen to hold a party then.

This water bazooka uses air-powered pump action to safely fire 32′ streams of water, allowing you to drench your target from long-distance. The gun has two nozzles that rotate as the gun is pumped, firing a wide spray to soak multiple combatants simultaneously. The stock rests comfortably on your shoulder, preventing excessive kick, and the smooth pump-handle allows rapid fire. The barrel holds up to 1 3/4 quarts of water and is easily filled under a faucet or spigot. Made of ABS plastic.

Perfect for kids as well as adults who are still kids at heart, the 32 Foot Water Blaster offers you a splashing wet experience for $49.95.

Go Speed Racer, Lego!

Go Speed Racer, Lego

I had a chance to see the Speed Racer movie last weekend, and if you haven’t seen it yet, let me give you my one sentence review: “Even though this film is full of nothing but unbelievable special-effects, action, and characters, it must not be missed.”

Yes, nothing will help you tap into your inner child like the Speed Racer movie. If you really want to delve deep into your inner child, get some of the new Speed Racer Lego sets.

The new sets include the cars from the movie, plus the drivers. These Lego sets include: Speed Racer and Snake Oiler (set 8158), Racer X and Taejo Togokahn (set 8159), Cruncher Block and Racer X (set 8160), as well as the Grand Prix Race (set 8161) which has the Mach 6, Gray Chost, and Cannonball Taylor’s GRX car along with eight minifigures.

Lego Speakers for iPhone and iPod

Lego Speakers for iPhone and iPod

It appears that Perpetual Kid, a site designed to “entertain your inner child”, has lived up to their slogan with the Lego speakers for the iPod and iPhone.

These Lego speakers have a connector that is fully compatible with the iPod Classic, Nano, and Mini. I can only assume that the sound comes out of those big plus signs that you see on the front. What you don’t see are the volume controls that are apparently “camouflaged” by design.

This contraption apparently requires no batteries, so I can only guess that it gets its power from the iPod or iPhone itself. This could result in a short time of use, but the site doesn’t say how long the Lego speaker will play off of a fully charged device.

Dueling Space Marines Copter Set

by Edwin

dueling-space-marines.jpgMarines are known to be tough SOBs, so what do you think Space Marines are made out of? ThinkGeek as Dueling Space Marines Copter Set up for grabs, and at certain angles it looks as though they’re shooting laser pee at each other.

This Dueling Space Marines Copter Set gets you a set of two mini r/c helicopters with infra-red laser tag style battle action. Take to the air from the palm of your hand then use the shoulder button on the remote unleash a plasma blast your opponent copter. Each shot causes the gun of your space marine to flash with simulated gunfire. The first hit causes your enemy to spin. The second makes the enemy copter lose power… the third cuts rotor power completely as your opponent plummets to the ground and you gloat in victory. However to truly dominate the sky, you’ll need to practice up on your flying skills. With stable flying characteristics and forgiving crash dynamics these diminutive space copters are perfect for hat impending battle against the betentacled alien planet hopper that awaits when you level up.

Plenty of practice is needed if you’re to remain at the top of your game. A couple of such copters will set you back by $49.99. Would be interesting to have a third party with a slingshot attempting to shoot down either Space Marine during the duel for that wild card factor…

RC Jump Jet takes off

by Edwin

rc-jumpjet.jpgThe RC Jump Jet is something different from the standard remote controlled planes and helicopters as it merges the best of both worlds.

It takes off like a helicopter and flies like a plane, using four gyroscopically controlled rotors and a not an inconsiderable amount of flying skill. The swept back wafer thin wings and tail help to control the stability of forward flight, and the multi-directional control allows you to fly in any direction you can think of, and often a few you hadn’t expected. Saying that this is cool is like saying Ricky Gervais is mildly amusing, or that Tiger Woods is quite handy at crazy golf. It’s really quite hard to describe (which is why we’re failing so miserably) just how awesome this indoor flier is. The way it moves through the air makes the Harrier look clumsy – even if it does have more weapons. To keep it light and balanced, the bodywork has been stripped to a minimum, and a twenty minute charge should give you a good ten minutes of the best indoor flying experience you’ve ever had.

The RC Jump Jet is supposedly easy to fly, and you’ll need to fork out £69.95 to find out. Well, it definitely is compared to the real deal, but being unconventional by itself will probably involve a rather steep learning curve, but I’m sure it’ll be fun once you get the hang of it.
