Infrared Tracker R/C Car is controlled by a “magic dot”

by Ally

Usually when you’re controlling an R/C car you have some sort of remote with a pair of joysticks or a wheel and trigger. Generally the controls are relatively self-explanatory, as you don’t get much more simplistic than pressing a couple of sticks. Apparently there is an easier way, at least with the Infrared Tracker R/C Car.

Recycled Auto Part Chess Set

by AndrewD

Think about how many junky cars you see people driving. Where do you think those cars will be in five years? Rotting away in some landfill no doubt. Old car parts can be used for so many productive purposes, rather than gathering dust on some abandoned lot.

Armando Ramirez proves that old cars are so much more than mobile junk piles. He creates these awesome recycled chess sets made from old automobile parts. Each chess set is custom made, each piece composed of the heavy and rustic remnants of an old car.

Table football, or Foosball, might be known as the most unglamorous form of gaming in the world. Mostly known for being spotted in seedy sports bars and dirty basements, there’s not much you can say about the foosball table that makes it seem fitting for the luxurious crowd. BlingMyThing says “Think again!”

BuzzBall, The Roller Coaster Without Tracks

by Mark R

Now that summer is in full swing, people are flocking to amusement parks everywhere, searching for the latest thrill from the best roller coaster. The Evento BuzzBall is made for those who wish to take that experience home.

The best part is that the owner of the BuzzBall would not need to build some giant structure with tracks and rails, but any open space, flat or hilly, will do.

The BuzzBall is essentially a huge hamster ball designed for a person. Only the BuzzBall is a ball-within-a-ball, with dual electric motors. The first motor controls the outer edge of the ball, so the driver has complete control of the physical movement of the ball.

The second inner ball controls the movement of the driver. It can roll in any direction, regardless of what direction the BuzzBall is rolling.

The custom made Nerf Maverick

by Ally

This strange looking toy is actually a Nerf gun in disguise.  Which is just proof once again that there are a great many of us that don’t seem to want to grow up entirely.  I’d imagine  that the gun originally looked something like this, which is sold on ThinkGeek.  The best part is to cock the toy gun you have to pull back on the cross.  The seller of this mod does warn that although it shoots foam darts, shooting someone in the face could still hurt them.  Apparently he thinks that the adults that would buy such a toy aren’t grown up enough to realize that.

‘Guitar Hero’ Action Figures Coming Soon

by AndrewD

While we totally understood when Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft would have a cool set of action figures released in its vain, one game we didn’t expect to see action figures for was Guitar Hero. Branding an axe is only really considered action if you’re trying to slice someone in half with it, you know?

But nevertheless, Activision and McFarlane Toys are joining forces to create a line of Guitar Hero themed action figures for McFarlane’s fall line. Whether you want to collect them or just form a toy-led super band, the Guitar Hero action figures might have more success getting action than providing action if you know what I mean. That’s right. Chicks dig musicians.

Action figures will be available for the Axel Steel (pictured), Johnny Napalm, Lars Umlaut and the God of Rock characters from the hit game. Each of the guitar wielding heros will have 15-18 movable parts (hopefully not anatomically correct moving parts.)

Hasbro and Tiger Electronics A.M.P.

by Mark R

Can anyone tell me what is happening on Battlestar Galactica lately? It used to be that it was humans vs. Cylons, but now it’s like Cylons vs. Cylons, humans forming alliances with Cylons that look like humans, and some odd religious stuff thrown in. It almost makes me long for the original series, which was, at best, an obvious Star Wars knock-off.

Well, the war between the humans and Cylons just took an odd turn as Hasbro’s Tiger Electronics introduced the A.M.P., the Automated Music Personality. The A.M.P. has a sleek black finish and stands 29 inches tall with two perfectly balanced wheels like a Segway.

The A.M.P. is an apt acronym as a user can stick an MP3 Player on its back and watch the A.M.P. dance. Somehow, it can “express his personality through 49 LED lights and futuristic sound effects”. Speaking of sound, the A.M.P. has 12-watts of stereo sound that includes 2 tweeters, a mid-range speaker, plus a bass boost touch sensor.
