USB Healing Owl is actually pretty cute
It’s not very often when I admit to a gadget being cute. Especially of the USB variety. I actually tend to rue the companies which take advantage of their customers through cheaply made, over-priced pieces of plastic, but if they were to stop production, I might be out of the job. USB gadgets are a hallmark for the gadget blogging industry.
But all hate aside, this USB Healing Owl, while both made of plastic and overpriced, is actually pretty adorable. Made by Strapya World, the Owl plugs into your USB port and perches on its tree branch stump or right atop your computer’s display. But what does it actually do on the healing end of things? Jinsei lets you Walk out the Game of Life, Literally

You may look at this picture and wonder if the Virtual Pet is making a comeback, but it is actually something new altogether with the Jinsei Game Punchi.
Takara Tomy is releasing this electronic game to celebrate Jinsei, which we know as the game of Life. I’m sure all have you have at least heard of the game of Life, where you have to make money, get a house, have kids, all with that really odd spinner. In other words, it’s your life, but in game form to make it fun.
The Jinsei Game Puchi takes this game of Life to the next level as you must take 300 steps before the spinner will spin. There is a pedometer to measure the amount of steps of taken, but I suppose cheaters could just shake it.

Batman’s Batpod rocked The Dark Knight

Last summer, we reported that Spider-man 3 broke the record for the most successful opening weekend. I’ve just heard that this record has been broken by The Dark Knight, which is on the verge of becoming the best superhero movie ever.
I’m sure a lot of you saw it over the weekend. Some of you might have been greatly impressed by the Batpod, director Christopher Nolan’s take on the classic bat-cycle, without the sidecar for Robin. The Batpod was designed by Nathan Crowley, the same man who designed the Tumbler from the Batman Begins.

Lego Mindstorms NXT Robot solves Rubik’s Cube

How do you make a Lego Mindstorms robotic kit solve puzzles independently, without the need of an aid computer? Just ask Hans Andersson, the designer behind the Tilted Twister, an autonomous robot which was made using nothing but pieces from the Lego Mindstorms NXT kit.
A set of ultrasonic sensors detect when you place the Rubik’s Cube on the Tilted Twister. The Lego bot can then calculate the moves needed for a solution and executes the proper movement. And the coolest thing about it all? It does this all on its lonesome.

Stunt Granny defies death
There is never a moment of boredom with the Stunt Granny around.
Following a recent break out from the Golden Years Retirement Home for the Terminally Bored, grannies are back, powered up, and raring to go. Clear the supermarket aisles because Stunt Granny has arrived. Complete with a turbo-charged bath-chair, she can perform death defying stunts flying off her launch ramp to clear piles of cereal boxes and cans of beans. Cackling in the face of danger and joyously ignoring the Health & Safety ‘Wet Floor’ sign, Stunt Granny is a force to be reckoned with as she scoots about any obstacle you lay in her path. She’s an Octogenarian Evel Knievel with attitude.
Stunt Granny will cost you £19.99, but it does make me wonder which is more fun – her or her sisters who prefers the rough and tumble lifestyle of wheelchair racing or punching each other’s lights out in the boxing ring?
Big Baby shotgun

Fans of Hellboy and his latest Hollywood outing, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, will be able to pick up one cool piece of merchandise from Sideshow Collectibles. This is a faithful recreation of the “Big Baby” shotgun used by Hellboy in the movie, and it comes fully equipped with removable toy shells. Another bonus would be having it play some music whenever you wind it up, comprising of Lullaby and Goodnight before you put demons to sleep – permanently. Don’t let the Big Baby scare you by its realism – that’s the job of its price tag which currently stands at $700.

Sega Toys Reveals Cute Dog Robot, So Cute It Causes Cavities

Puppies are undeniably cute. Sometimes they are indeed painfully cute. No teeth brushing could remove the sugary syrup of a dog’s puppy-eyed stare. I don’t care how old you are. The loving gaze of a puppy will melt your cold heart.
Sega Toys knows you love puppies. Everyone loves puppies. Except for ninjas. They hate puppies. Starting on August 8th, Sega Toys will be selling their new cute dog robot toy called “Uchi no Suupa Doggu Sakadachi Rakki” (My Super Stand-up-and-beg Dog Lucky) which doesn’t only sit around looking frighteningly innocent, but answers to a collection of 13 voice commands.

Casio keyboard controlled table hockey is insane, awesome

Go ahead. Try as you might. But there is a huge shade of skepticism now pulled over our eyes that you or anyone else could ever create a table hockey table cooler than this one. Come on! We dare you! Yeah, we just really want to see some awesome table hockey tables.
Straight from the mind of Graeme Patterson, the Hockey Organ has got to be the coolest used of a synth mod that we have ever seen. Using a Casio SK1 keyboard and a host of video cameras, each hockey player is controlled via a key on the keyboard (A=goalie, C#=right winger, so on and so forth).
