Tamiya Electric Car is Wind-powered

Once in a while, you’ll find a product that is good for kids, adults, and the environment. The Tamiya Electric Car is one of them.
The Electric Car requires no batteries, but is powered by the wind. The Tamiya Loopwing Wind Power Generator Set comes with a miniature windmill whose blades are able to turn with even the lightest of winds. This spinning powers a tiny turbine, and you can use that to charge the electric car.
If the car is connected to windmill charger for 5-10 minutes, then the car is good for about 1-2 minutes of playing. That may not seem like much to you, but I think we all have electric tools that charge for a long time and work for a short amount of time. I have a Black and Decker electric screwdriver that works for about 5 minutes after one hour’s worth of charging.

Fisher Price Kid-Tough Portable DVD Player is Durable and Entertaining

A while ago, we covered Fisher Price’s FP3 player, a durable device that allowed young children to play MP3s. It appears that Fisher Price is now creating more tech-savvy toys for younger users.
One of their latest on this line is the Kid-Tough Portable DVD Player. The product is just what it sounds, a device that can play DVDs with a rubberized shell for extra protection. It can withstand a good drop, and won’t stop or skip tracks.

Spy Kite is Toy for James Bond Jr.

I don’t know if you’ve ever watched a show on the USA Network called Burn Notice, but it is about a spy that was fired by his particular spy organization. He is now forced to do A-Team-ish jobs for clients in order to make a living.
I bring this show up because the main character, Michael, makes his own spy equipment from old cellular phones and GPS devices, and the Spy Kite is low-tech spy gear that he could just buy instead of making.

Donkey Kong Lives again in Jenga

Hopefully you caught our entry on the Lego Donkey Kong. It appears that this classic Nintendo game is today’s theme with the release of Donkey Kong Jenga.
This version of Jenga comes with 54 black hardwood blocks made up to look like the classic Donkey Kong girders. This Donkey Kong Jenga looks like it has different rules than the traditional one of “you take a block from the bottom, and you put it on top”, as it comes with a spinner and some multi-colored playing pieces. Now you can help Mario save Pauline, or…the whole thing comes crashing down, I guess.

Wrex the robot dog
Al managed to catch hold of Wrex the robot dog at CES earlier this year, and true to his word, we’re now in the third quarter of 2008 and Gizoo’s offering Wrex the robot dog for the masses.
Wrex the robot dog gives paw, sneezes, gets hungry and needs to pee, just like a living breathing version of man’s best friend. You can train him, play with him and even reprogramme him into a cat or the original Robosapien. And in keeping with Wrex the Dawg’s slap dash body, your robot dog malfunctions every now and again and you will have to save the day and repair him. Wrex the Dawg has three distinctive moods, including happy, angry and crazy, and if you’re in any doubt as to which one he’s in check the eyes. Wrex’s eyes go nuts, spinning like you’ve just won on a slot machine and stopping on a set that match his mood and desires. Pick a mood and control Wrex the Dawg using the remote control or set his moods to random and let him roam autonomously off the leash. Preorder yours today for heaps upon heaps of fun in one tiny package.
Sounds as though this will make for an extremely desirable Christmas present! Wrex the robot dog will ship at the end of this month, so make sure you plonk down £99.95 if you want one by then.
R/C Dead Fred zombie
Is this super scary or what? Halloween comes a little bit early with the remote-controlled Dead Fred version, but it looks set to be a surefire winner if the manufacturers could work on reducing the $2,650 price tag. This 4-foot long realistic looking zombie is powered by a quartet of DC motors and two 12-volt batteries, allowing it to groan, scream and talk in full digital audio thanks to an onboard amplifier and speaker. Perfect to keep those pesky kids off your well-manicured lawn. Gotta love Dead Fred’s nasty looking entrails behind.

Axon Anti-Gravity Racer

The Axon Razorback is the first anti-gravity racer RC vehicle in the world, so you will definitely be able to wow kids (and adults alike) around the block with your latest $249.99 purchase.
Similar to a hovercraft but designed for speed, this futuristic R/C vehicle can do speeds of 25mph right out of the box, with a motor upgrade to 50mph. Available in Ready to Run or Receiver Ready packages. Ready to Run includes a 3 channel 2.4GHz surface radio and rechargeable 3 cell 1300mAh 25c Lipo Battery pack. Dual Brushless motors, Lexan Body and Polyethylene foam bottom make it nearly indestructible.
Sounds like fun, and you don’t have to worry about keeping it off sand and gravel as there aren’t any wheels to get jammed in the first place. I would love to have a review unit, Al *hint hint*
Dark Knight Bat-Logo calls no one

Every once in a while, some product comes out that looks good and is available for order, but there is very little information available about it. This leads potential customers to doubt its validity.
Such is the case for The Dark Knight Bat-Logo Project Key Ring. This product is exactly what it sounds like, a key ring that can project the bat-signal on the wall.
Unfortunately, there isn’t really a good demonstration of this product, except what you see here in this picture. Too bad there isn’t a YouTube video on the site, but the only video I see is a preview of The Dark Knight.
