Children’s Configurable Fort
There is nothing quite like the imagination of a child to maximize something as simple as a cardboard box, where he or she turns it into a plane, a submarine, a race car, or even a fort. Well, sometimes you might want to encourage even more creative thinking through treats here and there, and I don’t suppose you can go wrong with the $199.95 Children’s Configurable Fort? Yes sir, this building set will allow your kids to explore their construction skills as they work on tunnels, mazes and forts in different configurations.
Small hands are adequate to snap the panels together, where they can create lengths of wall or wrap-around enclosures. With a total of 46 brightly-colored rigid panels to choose from, they can be reinforced by joint attachment clips which will secure the panels in 90° or 180° segments to make sure that such constructions remain standing even during some rough and tumble play sessions. To put it away, the panels will separate quickly, and can be stacked flat ala Ikea style, stashed away into a carrying case.
Something tells me that this with bunch of Nerf guns would make for an unforgettable afternoon playtime.
Lego bricks used to make Segway of sorts
We do know that those with a vivid imagination are able to construct some interesting stuff using nothing but Lego bricks, and there has been some pretty special creations conjured in the past. Well, humans being humans with our creativity, there are always better things to come in the future – case in point, Lego bricks being used to create a ‘Segway” of sorts. This is not something that will be able to ferry humans around, but it is still enough to keep children and curious adults alike mesmerized.
Also known as the dIMU (Dexter Industries Inertial Motion Unit) Inertial Motion Sensor, the creation of this device will obviously require the presence of an accelerometer as well as a gyroscope, working in tandem with the Lego Mindstorms NXT. Fully capable of measuring acceleration, tilt, and rotation on all 3 axes, this allows you to construct Lego robots that are able to balance itself on a couple of wheels, measure the rate of acceleration and have an idea on which way is up so that it will not topple over. Read more about this little wonder in the extended post.

Griffin Technology launches the Woogie 2
A while ago, we announced that Griffin Technology was creating the Woogie. For those who don’t know what the Woogie is, it is a way of storing an iPhone or iPod Touch in a furry covering so a toddler or other little child can play with it.
Well, like everything in today’s society, anything that is even fairly decent gets a sequel. Therefore, Griffin Technology would like to present, the Woogie 2.
So far, the only difference that I see between the Woogie 2 and the original is that the new version has one less leg. As you can see, the Woogie 2 can sit up like a little baby, while the original just flops with all six legs like an octopus.

Working Recycling Truck
Recycling is the way to go in this day and age. After all, being green is all the rage, and at least you get to preserve the earth for the next generation. If you want to get kids in your home to go green, you might as well begin with the basics – that is to have them recycle. Hence the $119.95 Working Recycling Truck that is actually a rear-loading recycling truck which will compact, store, and dump refuse – similar to the real deal.
Created by Bruder, renowned German toymakers for 85 years, it will come with a couple of 3.25″ x 2″ recycling bins which are dumped by hand into the truck’s hopper with a lifting grapple. Twist a knob on the Working Recycling Truck and a packer blade will kick into high gear that scoops debris into an internal storage compartment that allows it to hold up to 100″ cu. of crumpled paper or other small items.
I don’t think putting food items in there is going to work though, that might just stink up the whole place (or just your cubicle) as last week’s pizza starts to decompose.

Life of George comes to Lego and the iPhone
It would appear that the mobile life and Lego have reached an intersection with Life of George. The game is designed for iDevices, and it involves pattern recognition.
In this case, the pattern is some flat structure made with Lego, and the user/player must replicate the same structure using the 144 Lego bricks. When the user believes that he or she has matched it perfectly, then the Lego project gets put on the dotted mat and photographed. It has better be a perfect match to win the round!
There are about 12 levels with 10 photos each, and there is even a two-player mode. There is also user based content options available too. So if you want something you have created to be in the game, just take a shot of it on the dotted mat. By the way, somehow this dotted map acts as a greenscreen. Don’t ask me how that works, but you can see how it works in the video after the jump.

Star Wars Force FX Removable Blade Lightsabers
I guess the world just cannot get enough of George Lucas’ space opera, Star Wars, with the Blu-ray version of Star Wars: The Complete Saga breaking all Blu-ray sales records in the blink of an eye. Well, having said that, even if you already own all sorts of lightsaber replicas and toys with no more room left to spare in your basement, chances are you would also find the $119.99 Star Wars Force FX Removable Blade Lightsabers enticing, much to the chagrin of your other half.
Touted by Thinkgeek to be the “most perfect lightsaber toy ever”, these new blades will light from bottom up accompanied by its unique sound, and whenever you’re done with slaying enemies as well as dispatching of the latest Sith (was it the Master or the Apprentice?), it will fade from the top down with an appropriate sound. Each swing will also trigger its own sound effect, and if it comes into contact with another person, object or lightsaber, the distinctive explosive sound will also be heard.
You can even pick up a couple more models for your collection in this round – Luke’s lightsaber from Episode IV and Kit Fisto, who fell far too easily to Emperor Palpatine.
