Dragon APX Frameless Goggles

by Edwin

Ski goggles are not just for fashion purposes – no sir, the reason for wearing them is to make sure that your eyes get adequate protection not only from the wind and snow, but from potentially glaring sunlight as well. Most of them come with frames though, so why not take the road less traveled with the £154.99 Dragon APX Frameless Goggles that is said to offer maximum vision with minimal bulk?

The rather radical all-lens appearance is also quite the performer, where the APXs are state-of-the-art wintersports goggles. Since they’re frameless, you will most definitely get a lift up the slope the next time the ski lift goes by your way, even though it is already super cramped inside simply because the girls there want to ask you just where did you get such a cool pair of ski goggles. Bono won’t be out of place wearing these, that’s for sure. Unlike regular goggles, the APX’s face-hugging triple-layer foam surround will remain on the inside, helping achieve not only style but safety for your eyes.

Backyard Driving Range

by Edwin

You know sometimes you just want to head off to the nearest driving range and whack a fair number of balls just for some exercise or to let out your frustration, but even moments like those can be prevented simply because you are too lazy or tired to get into your vehicle and pony your way through rush hour traffic just to get to the nearest driving range. Since there is no place like home, how about the Backyard Driving Range?

Yes sir, this $249.95 purchase is an actual golf training system which will convert any yard into a driving range, just like that without the need to renovate your home. The ball dispenser will be able to stash away up to 150 golf balls, where each of them will be automatically placed on the included tee, so you need not bend over to tee up a ball before making each shot. Sure saves your back a whole lot of trouble, don’t you think so?

Let loose your swing and see the ball fly to the tented net that is made from durable nylon with double-stitching to help it withstand even the hardest drives or iron shots. With side panels that help corral errant shots, the Backyard Driving Range is perfect to let you focus on nothing else but your swing. Heck, there is even a handheld tube that lets you pick up 20 balls at a time and place them in the dispenser in a jiffy. Even better? You can start charging your mates to give this a go in your backyard.

FitDesk lets you pedal while you work

by Mark R

As someone who works from home for a majority of my job, I am concerned about my sedentary lifestyle.

I don’t consider myself “fat” but I believe that I’m probably overweight. That probably means that I am overweight if I am not willing to admit it. However, if I did my work from a FitDesk, I might find that at least my legs would be more muscular.

The FitDesk is a pretty simple concept based on putting a desk atop a stationary bike where the handlebars are. I’m not certain whether my work will be the same quality if I am pedaling and typing at the same time, but at least I am exercising.

Right now, I am typing this paragraph while I am sit-running in place. I have to admit, I am feeling the burn, but my typing is getting slower. I guess you can’t tell that since you are reading the end-product.

Still, I like the idea of typing, and then pedaling while I’m trying to figure out what to type next. I might as well be exercising my body as well as my mind. This is definitely better than putting my computer on a treadmill, or something.

I’m not certain how well a laptop would stay on this desk, as the one in the picture looks glued on or attached with double-stick tape. If you want to try it out, be prepared to spend $229.

All-Weather Soft Case Bike Mount from Bracketron

by Mark R

This device from Bracketron is for those who are in to biking, either motorbiking or pedaling. The All-Weather Soft Case Bike Mount is a way to mount a mobile device to bike’s handlebars, and it works pretty well.

I had a chance to try it out for myself, and it lives up to its promise of mounting without tools. The bolt to install the mount can be twisted by hand, and the case snaps in place easily.

The case is made to lock tight with the zipper, and I was able to interact with my iPhone’s touchscreen from there. This would have protected my iPhone from the rain with the “weather resistant housing”. Sadly, this case was too small for my Motorola Droid X, but is perfect for iPods and iPhones. It even comes with some padding to fill the gap between the device and the weather-resistant plastic screen.

Bracketron Cradle-iT Golf Cart Mount

by Edwin

Golfers have a far wider array of tools (or toys, depending on your point of view) to play with these days whenever they are on the green, so it isn’t only toting around a bag of clubs now. The Bracketron Cradle-iT Golf Cart Mount is one accessory that you might want to consider if you own a piece of golf GPS equipment – either that, or you want your smartphone to be with you in a place where it can be conveniently accessed without having to put your gloved hand into your pocket all too often.

The Bracketron Cradle-iT Golf Cart Mount basically boasts of an extremely versatile design, where you can position it on the cart’s window, dash or any other flat surface in both portrait and landscape modes. There is a powerful suction mount that boasts of a patented, adhesive-free grip technology which claims it can hold it firmly in place without leaving any sticky residue behind which can be quite a chore to remove – although through my experience, suction mounts, like governments, will fail sooner or later. Let us hope that Bracketron is able to live up to its side of the bargain.

Indoor Outdoor Mini Golf Course

by Edwin

If you are an avid golfer and would love to get your game on just about anywhere, then perhaps you might be interested in shelling out $169.95 for the Indoor Outdoor Mini Golf Course? The name itself implies that you can give this a go indoors if the weather is not favorable at all for you in the great outdoors, while when the sun is out and all is well, you can always bring the entire shebang outdoors for a tan and some exercise.

This mini-golf course will not be a walk in the park though, as you are able to set it up in a way where you can challenge players with a variety of obstacles. Hailing from Munich, Germany, you can be sure that German precision is part of the set’s DNA right from the get go, sporting rugged ABS that will not crack or break despite being exposed to the elements, where nine pieces will let your imagination run wild with the kind of courses that you design.

There is a maze obstacle that returns balls which miss the 3″ wide lane that leads to the hole in its center, while an inclined corkscrew will need the right angle of attack to reach the hole at its center, and who can forget the two-way incline which requires you to have a deft touch to reach the hole at its apex without dropping down the other side? Seems to be a challenge worth purchasing – what say you?

Oscillating Table Tennis Trainer

by Edwin

Want to pick up mad table tennis skills like Forrest Gump? Perhaps he had a really, really good coach or trainer, or he might have actually traveled to the future to purchase this $199.95 Oscillating Table Tennis Trainer – and dedicated all of his spare time to it in order to become a world champion. Similar to a tennis ball machine albeit coming in a much smaller form factor, this scaled down automatic oscillating table tennis trainer is capable of serving non-stop stream of balls for solo practice in order to make sure you’re ready to face just about any situation that comes your way.

There is a tethered remote that controls just which serve direction the ball is headed for, letting you practice both forehand and backhand strokes. Three spin settings will further help you hone your response – Backspin (where the ball rotates away from the receiving player, requiring a chopping stroke to return); Topspin (where the ball rotates toward the player); and a challenging Heavy Topspin (high rpm rotation that must be returned with a controlled downward stroke).

Capable of holding 110 balls, you can have it sending balls to you at any rate from 12 to 70 per minute.

Tour bus has detachable bikes

by Mark R

This is the “Bike Guide Concept”, a way of travel that could be the next form of tourism.

As you can tell from the image, the Bike Guide uses bikes attached to the bus itself. The bus has a screen to announce information about the next destination, and then each bike has a screen to share even more. Screens are also used in bus stops, and the user scans their credit card to arrange a bike/bus tour.

You can watch a video of it after the jump, and you see that the bus parks and drops off the bikes. The tourists pedal around the attraction, and I believe that there is a timer on each bike to let the rider know when it is time to return them.
