Skimboard Surfer
No need to pack up and travel for miles just to get your surfing kicks in as long as you have the Skimboard Surfer. This nifty home-based device will bring all the fun of the beach to your backyard, as long as you own a decent-sized pool to go.
With a 26 foot (7.9m) water filled slide and a 30″ pro-quality plywood skim board, this kit will keep kids (and grown-ups who are young at heart) amused for hours. Skim-boarding, if you’re new to this great sport, is a hydroplaning technique whereby the boarder runs at speed towards a thin layer of water, he/she then drops the board onto the water and mounts it with one foot (usually left foot first), the other following in one smooth movement. The boarder will then skim along the surface of the water for as long as he/she can stay upright, and will manoeuvre the board in order to alter direction and perform tricks. The board itself is shaped like a mini surf board but is considerably thinner, as buoyancy is less critical.
The Skimboard Surfer will cost you £39.99, but that’s a small price to pay considering the amount of summer fun you’ll experience.
World’s Largest Foosball Table

I remember playing foosball in junior high school, and I always had a problem playing one side on my own. One minute you’re setting up for a score off the three-man, and then the other guy makes a goalie shot while you weren’t expecting it.
Can you imagine playing on a foosball table that would require 11 players on each side?
This is just what designer and Amsterdam brewer Amstel set out to do with the Table Football XXL. I’m not certain whether Amstel meant to do this, but its creation coincides with the European Champions League Finals.
As you may have guessed, this Table Football XXL is quite gigantic. As far as I now, it is not available for ordering. If it were, it would require six flight cases to ship to an American user.

Athletes can keep cool with the Nike PreCool Vest

Last week I showed you an interesting shirt that could keep you nice and cool while driving in your car. It wasn’t exactly practical for anyone aside from professional racers, so I thought I’d share this vest which is a little more practical, though it will still likely only be used by athletes.

Throw Alarm Clock

Have you ever been so mad to wake up in the morning that you smash your alarm clock? Hopefully you don’t do that every day, or that would be one expensive habit.
However, you could purchase the Throw Alarm Clock, a special type of alarm clock which actually requires you to bounce or throw it in order to switch it off.
As you can see, the Throw Alarm Clock is a cushioned ball with an LCD display. It also has all the features of an alarm clock such as a time, date, as well as an hourly chime and the aforementioned alarm.
This Throw Alarm Clock is available in several sport ball shapes such as Cricket, Golf, and Football (aka Soccer). It also comes with a circular stand that mounts the ball, so it will not roll off of the nightstand.

Seiko Slimstick

Recently, I have become fixated with devices that help you lose weight. Last week, it was the Tanita BC558. This week, the Seiko Slimstick, a more portable weight-loss device.
The Seiko Slimstick is a more advanced version of those old-school pedometers that can count your steps. Just between you and me, I always thought those step-counters were kind of useless. Their accuracy was highly questionable, as they would register a step if they were shaken. Not only that, what good is it to discover how many steps you’ve taken in a day? I suppose you could convert that to miles, but most exercise programs are based on burning calories, not miles.
The Slimstick is a more accurate pedometer that uses dual-axis accelerometers to track the magnitude of a user’s movements. It is easy-to-use as it clips to the user’s clothing, and is the size of a pack of gum. While on the user’s person, it can then count calories burned during the day, the amount of time a user was active, and, of course, the number of steps that were taken during the day.

WiiFit Release Date Finally Announced

I was surprised to see that Coolest Gadgets hasn’t covered the Nintendo WiiFit yet, so I feel obligated to spread the good news of the WiiFit release date to all of our readers. Nintendo has officially announced that the WiiFit will be released on May 19th.
For those of you who are not familiar with the WiiFit, it is a pressure sensitive balance board that allows users to exercise with aerobic, toning, and balance activities, all “supervised” by a virtual trainer.
Not only will the WiiFit do exercise-based games like push-ups, but there are other games that are fun for all ages. For example, a user can wiggle to a virtual hula hoop or play a soccer goalie who is blocking shots with his or her head. Click on the jump to see a video of its features.

Giant Golf Set
The Giant Golf Set you see here helps you hit the darn ball since it has been blown up. After all, who in their right mind would continue swinging at a ball all day long while missing the target?
The trouble with golf is that everything is so darn small. The club heads are tiny, the ball is minute, the holes are just ludicrous (as are the shoes of course), and you begin to wonder what on earth the point is. However, if it wasn’t for someone inventing pinhead golf, then some other idiot wouldn’t have come up with this super-size, super-stupid Giant Golf. Club, tee and ball are all ludicrously big, enabling even the tragically inept to take a successful swing and watch with smug satisfaction as their ball sails across the garden, beach or fairway. Though we don’t suggest trying this on a real fairway as golf clubs are renowned more for their feelings of self-importance than their sense of humor. It’s big, it’s beautiful and it’s a brilliantly fun lawn game.
The Giant Golf Set will retail for £19.99 a pop. You’ll need a sense of humor before purchasing this.
