SKLZ Power Base Tennis

by Edwin - on February 1st, 2012

After watching the marathon Australian Open 2012 final between the Djoker and Nadal, you can say that anyone with a passing interest in tennis would also be pumped up to up their game’s ante, so getting some practice in will definitely be required. If you happen to find it hard to cajole a friend into being your playing partner, fret not – there is help in the form of the £34.99 SKLZ Power Base Tennis. After all, playing with a wall is just too predictable, and for situations where you cannot fnid a real partner, this is where the SKLZ Power Base Tennis comes in handy.

Relying on a standard ball that is tethered to a weighted base by a lightweight, stretchy cord, all you need to do is find adequate open space, and serve the ball just as though you would do so to an opponent. The 15-foot cord is able to stretch up to 30 feet, and the distance largely depends on how much “Ooomph!” you put into the shot, before it comes screaming back at you – in theory, at least. This is a constant battle to prevent the ball from losing its bounce, and each shot is critical to help you maintain a rally, keeping you on your toes at all times.

If you are a golf widow, remember the mantra of repaying evil for good. Your man who knows even after two decades of a solid marriage, that you absolutely loathe the game of golf and still are unable to grasp the reason why they would attempt such a feat under the sweltering sun, and still continue to play with his buddies while leaving you all alone at home, will definitely be well pleased if you decide to take a different approach in loving him. Forget about taking revenge by maxing out his credit cards – you can always pamper him with the Bracketron Smuggler, an insulated cooler that is ideal for those hot, humid summer days.

Training Wheels Eliminator

by Edwin

One of the joys of parenting would be to be there when your little one grows up, handling different stages accordingly – it is basically a learning process. Kids these days might lean more towards video games as their entertainment mode of choice, and I would strongly suggest exposing your progeny to more physical based activities like hiking, flying a kite, and even riding a bicycle. Of course, there is that initial fear period to overcome as balancing on two wheels seems impossible for a kid, and this is where training wheels come in. For parents who want to make do away with training wheels, you can always install the Training Wheels Eliminator.

This gyroscopic bicycle wheel will teach children to ride a bike without training wheels, where you replace a bike’s front wheel with it, sporting an internal, powered gyroscope that spins independently in order to generate a force (gyroscopic precession) that stabilizes the bicycle. Whenever the rider starts to topple over due to a loss in balance, the gyroscope precesses, or turns, while guiding the handlebars in the right direction of the fall in order to maintain stability. This encourages kids to lean improperly away from a fall, while preventing them from developing incorrect riding habits.

You can choose from 12″ and 16″ models which retail for $99.95 and $139.95, respectively.

Quad Table Tennis Game

by Edwin

I am quite sure that having one wife is more than what a man can handle, but to be married to more than one will certainly induce plenty of headache unless you have bottomless pockets! Well, here is a sport that you might want to play with your wives if you happen to be married to three of them, but I feel that the target market of this $249.99 Quad Table Tennis Game would be a group of friends rather than a cuckolded husband. The name of the game itself gives the scenario away, where it introduces a new twist to a traditional sport, boasting four separate tables that pits up to four players against one another. This delivers unpredictable, exciting play indoors or outdoors, and you can hit the ball onto any opposing player’s table.

Make sure your reflexes are in tip top condition, as angled bounces and caroms are the order of the day. The tables are placed just a few feet apart facing one another, where each triangular-shaped, 24″ long x 18″ wide table will taper to a round point in the front; while the back edge is pitched 10º, ensuring the balls will bounce up towards a player. I wonder what happens when the Chinese master this game. I don’t think that this will ever make it as an Olympic event though – what about you?

Stationary Epicycle

by Edwin

Shed those pounds that have strangely made an appearance around your waist after the recent festive season of feasting without having to leave the comfort of your home – and this also means rain or shine, you can still get your daily dose of exercise in, not to mention doing so while you watch your favorite sitcom on TV at the same time. The Stationary Epicycle will not come cheap though at $12,000 a pop, and it might actually be more worth your while trading that amount for say, 10 years of membership at a reputable gym? For those who have the cash to spare, the Stationary Epicycle is self-describing – it will not go anywhere when you hop on it and start working those muscles, but rather relies on an epicyclic transmission and magnetic resistance to provide intensive spinning workouts.

Inspired by 19th-century monowheels, the Stationary Epicycle boasts dual-satellite transmission that can turn a single pedal revolution into four flywheel rotations, which means someone spinning at 100 rpms causes the flywheel to spin at 400 rpms. As the flywheel engages the cycle’s 36″ diameter copper ring, half a dozen magnets which are installed around the ring’s enclosure will work in tandem to generate a magnetic field in order to deliver up to 12 levels of resistance that are controlled by a touchscreen display. Definitely a calorie burner, this – and also a wallet bustin’ purchase for most.

Electronic Pedaler helps you burn those fats

by Edwin

The recent holidays have certainly seen many of us feasting more than fasting, and no doubt the lack of exercise will see us losing the battle of the bulge – especially around the waist and thighs. It is time to get on with the program and step up all efforts, so here is the $159.99 Electronic Pedaler that might just aid you in your “fight”. Instead of making your way to the gym, waiting for a particular machine to be available, the Electronic Pedaler can be used in the comfort of your home, where it is touted to improve users’ muscle tone and cardio strength, allowing you to work out even when you have the TV turned on and your favorite sitcom is being played.

You can choose from “manual” mode or switch to “automatic” for a whisper-quiet, power-assisted workout, making it ideal for just about anyone with limited mobility. Basically, it will “coax” the legs to cycle smoothly without applying any forceful, jerky movements, starting from a relatively easy 35 rpm . Once you feel that you are ready to step up a level, there is the option to speed up incrementally to a more robust 65 rpm. It takes around 15 minutes each day to improve your muscle strength and range of motion in the legs and arms/shoulders. There is also an easy-to-read LCD control panel that shows the number of calories burned, “distance” covered, time elapsed and rpms.

Basically, the Touch Screen Heart Rate Watch delivers an accurate reading to you without the need to wear an uncomfortable chest strap, and neither do you need to fiddle around with a wide range of function buttons while ensuring your activity level remains at the same, high intensity pace. All you need to do is touch The Touch Screen Heart Rate Watch’s bezel, and within seconds, you will be able to see what your current heart rate is. The LCD display is a snap to read, and it also doubles up as a watch, calendar and stopwatch. Love exercising at dusk? Fret not, there is a light-up display to help you there.
