You know those big Golden Tee machines they have in bars? They’re the ones that charge a few bucks for a quick 5 minutes of entertainment/gameplay. While most people get their kicks with a game or two, some really love it and don’t want to spend the money on a full blown machine but still want to play it at home. For those people, you can get the Golden Tee (trademarked, hoo hah!) television golf game. Think of it as the poor man’s version of Golden Tee.

The poor man’s version of Golden Tee

April 17th, 2007 by Edwin in Golf Gadgets
So you’re an avid fan of golf, but how many times have you actually practiced your short game indoors only to have your wife yell at you for breaking her vase which has been handed down in her family for the past 10 generations? Chances are you won’t be getting any love that night (or the next few weeks for that matter), with the cold comfort of the floor as your bed in order for you to reflect on your foolish action indoors. Enter the Floppy Indoor Golf Ball that helps golfers worldwide practice their short game at home in peace, knowing that even wayward shots won’t result in broken vases which ultimately leads to a withdrawal of marital relations.
Bringing new meaning to the “Flop shot” The Floppy, indoor golf aid
April 16th, 2007 by Fred in Golf Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Sport, Wacky GadgetsTypically, it’s not so good to be floppy. You can even ask Mr. Floppy, he’ll tell you.
In this case, it is a good thing, “The Floppy” is a practice golf ball made for indoor use.
That’s right, an indoor golf ball!
They’ve got a patented process for developing and producing these little beauties. Plus, what else are you supposed to do if you live in Santa Barbara? Surf, hang out in I.V., and make indoor golf balls, ahh that’s the life.
The good thing is it plays (rises and falls) like a regular ball, not like a weird physics defying whiffle ball (which are really only good for baseball/whiffle ball.
They say that it won’t break windows or mar walls. You’re only supposed to use it with short irons though (think pitching wedge people). So if you’ve got a new big bertha you’re dying to try, go to the range, or bang it out the window of your 30th story penthouse office.
Seriously, I don’t mind,, though some others may (those on the streets below, your boss, you’ll now have a new wind noise in your office for the next 10 minutes while you work there until you’re fired, and or pushed out of it). Read the rest of this entry »
SkyCaddie, a GPS for golfers
April 16th, 2007 by Darrell in Golf Gadgets
Most of my time spent on the links consists of looking for my ball, drinking beers, and yelling “fore” at the other golfers destined to get plunked by one of my awful drives gone wrong. Honestly, I don’t think any whiz-bang gadget could ever help me with my wicked slice. But if you are a decent golfer who needs that little edge over opponents a GPS range finder type gadget might be what you are looking for.

POPaPUTT for the golfer that can’t golf but still wants to win
March 13th, 2007 by Mike in Golf Gadgets
You know those terrible mediocre movies and TV shows that have the characters playing golf. Of course you do. There’s always the sneaky player who actually sucks at golf but knows how to cheat. Somehow the ball will always roll that extra few inches into the hole and their opponent’s ball will simply stop an inch or two short, or if you can get away with it, it’ll just pop out if it ever gets into the hole. Since you already have your remote control golf ball to take care of the first prank, the only missing part is the POPaPUTT Golf gizmo. Don’t worry, it’s about half the price (and almost as cool.)

Golf Ball Launcher
March 6th, 2007 by Al in Conceptual Gadgets, Golf Gadgets
Is that a man shooting birds, nope it’s a bloke with a decidedly dodgy mullet playing golf with the golf ball launcher.
Designed for people that have mobility issues or who are just crap at golf is the golf ball launcher is capable of firing balls from 25 yards to over 300 . Instead of having to whack the ball with a club you simply pump up your launcher, load, take aim and fire. I’d expect you’d get some very funny looks at the 19th hole, well that is until you point it at them.
It’s a bit of a concept gadget at the moment (phew), further info over at Invention Showcase.
G6 Golf Swing Monitor & Watch
January 12th, 2007 by Mike in Golf Gadgets
It’s kinda weird, I love all sorts of golf gadgets like RadarGolf and StreetGolf, but never, and I mean never, would I ever actually consider using them because I hate golf. Of all sports, it has to be my least favorite save baseball, it’s just to boring for me. Still, all the extravagant seemingly silly gadgets golfers seem to buy, like the gadget I’m about to describe, amuses me to no end. Suunto’s G6 Swing Monitor & Watch is the gadget for the golfer who has every other golfing gadget. It’s ridiculously expensive and ugly, what a combination.
