Those of you that are serious about your exercise or are thinking of becoming serious might want to check out this Timex branded bundle. The Ironman Trail Runner and Body Link will make sure you not only stay healthy, but you stay on the right path as well. All around, it’s a great pair to get you started. Especially for those with New Year’s resolutions to be more healthy next year.

The Ironman watch can be your personal trainer, since it utilizes the Body Link and can measure your heart rate and keep track of your pace. It’ll calculate your current pace, your average pace and then your best. Then you can use the GPS to keep track of your location and where you’d like to end up. Unfortunately, the set isn’t exactly cheap. You can purchase them for $284 through Amazon.

I guess some concept designer just had to put an MP3 player in clothes, and why not the pants? After all, the words “dance” and “pants” rhyme.

Say, is that an MP3 Player in your pants, or…all right, I think you all know where that one was going. I’m not liking where the Dancepants is going.

You see, the Dancepants isn’t just an MP3 Player that is designed to fit in the pants. That would probably be easy. You would just find a convenient place to stitch in the apparatus, and just make certain that the user can charge it and download tunes easily.

The Dancepants are not like that. You see, it is powered by kinetic energy. So if you like to listen to music while you are jogging, then you had better keep jogging, or your music will die. That, or you will. Heh heh heh.

Seriously, the Dancepants are a great idea. After all, kinetic energy is just the energy of motion, and we need to channel all of the excess energy in motion if we really want to save energy. After all, our highly technological society always needs energy to power our machines, and we also need to exercise more. Why not combine the two?

What has taken years of development has resulted in a self-proclaimed “best underwater propulsion device” that is available in the market, making it the ultimate underwater scooter for both divers and snorkelers. Yes, the Bladefish Sea Scooters are capable of pumping out a whole lot more power compared to its predecessors that relied on lead acid propulsion.

Unlike them, these new models can be recharged in a fraction of the time and can be easily carried as hand luggage. They’re also much smaller than their leaden predecessors and are highly manoeuvrable and compact. All models include computer controlled circuitry, double seals and a battery life meter.

You will be able to pick up the Bladefish 1000, Bladefish 2000 and Bladefish 5000 for £245.99, £299.99 and £479.99, respectively. Needless to say, the more money you fork out, the faster you’re able to travel while underwater, but it is safe to say that none of these will help you outswim any predatory shark looking for a human fillet…

Some people have this astounding ability to take a bowling ball and actually knock down all of the pins. For those of us that don’t have that ability, there’s finally the RC900. It’ll make sure those pesky bowling pins finally get knocked down where they belong. This bowling ball is controlled by a remote and is easily able to dodge all kings of obstacles, like the gutter for example.

Alright, so it’s actually marketed towards kids and those with physical limitations. Lack of hand-eye coordination is a physical limitation, right? The bowling ball is able to steer by adjusting the position of the weight screwed onto a threaded shaft within the ball. The sad news is, it’s a pretty obvious remote control, so there’s no way to fake out your friends on this one. Plus it’ll cost you $1500 from 900 Global.

The name Tachyon might not ring a bell for most people, but in reality it has been dealing with durable, extreme helmet cameras for quite some time already. Their latest release would be the Tachyon XC Micro Helmet Cam that offers similar quality features found in the recently released 2010 Tachyon XC back in August this year, although it helps you save space as it will come in a smaller, more compact design. Touted to be the industry’s smallest helmet camera to date, it will boast features including water-proofing without the need for an external case, a patented shockproof design, a wide field of vision, alongside superior light-gathering ability. The XC Micro can also take pride in the fact that it is also the only helmet camera on the market which can accept the entire range of microSDHC cards, allowing you to store up to 32GB of non-stop footage at any one time. Thanks to its condensed size, you can easily take this around with you, making sure your adrenaline-rushing adventures are always caught on camera for posterity.

The XC Micro will be equipped with a universal mounting system that enables it to hook up with goggles, helmets, sporting equipment and dashboards among others, making it ideal for filming action in extreme conditions. The sheer size, simplicity and extreme ruggedness of the XC Micro allows one to concentrate on the sport instead of having that nagging feeling at the back of their minds as to ensure the camera’s safety is not compromise in the course of recording all the action which is going on. A high-dynamic image sensor and a 90 degree wide angle lens results in clear, undistorted video in low-light situations or underwater at all times. Expect to pick up the Tachyon XC Micro for $129.99, although it is now available on a special deal at $99.99 till the end of the month.

Sadly, I am not part of this extreme crowd, but if I was, then I could use this camera to record my adventures. The DXG has a rubberized grip that can protect it against the rugged wear and tear. You may not be able to scuba dive with it, but this all-weather camcorder can resist moisture quite well.

Sadly, it only has a 1/4 CMOS 1.0 Megapixel Sensor, which is only good for still shots on an ordinary cameraphone. It also only has 128MB of Flash Memory, but this can be expanded with a SD card. The video can shoot in High Definition formats of H.264 and WVGA and 720p, both at 30 frames per second.

As you can see, it has a candybar form that allows the user to point, shoot, and film and view the results with the 2.0 TFT screen. The DXG-125V comes with a clip with a compass for a definite “outdoorsy” look, as well as HDMI cable, USB, software, and all the other usual digital camera accessories plus a nice-looking clamshell zipper-shut case. It also comes with a tiny pair of headphones, because this DXG camcorder is also MP3 compatible.

You should be able to pick up the DXG-125V at the DXG site for $139.99 in red, green, or camouflage colors.

Well, I suppose it was about time that someone made a shoe with GPS and Bluetooth compatibility. I’m just surprised that it wasn’t Nike. No, the Isaac Daniel Compass and Blue GPS shoes are most likely a first for the shoe industry, and I’m certain they won’t be the only company with a Blue GPS shoe after a while.

Now, you may ask yourself: why would I want a shoe that is Bluetooth and GPS enabled? Well, if that shoe is linked to your phone via Bluetooth, it can use its GPS functionality to let everyone know where you are. That is, if you are willing to let your friends track you online. I suppose you could use these shoes to track people who tend to wander out of their safe zones, like the elderly or small children (assuming their little feet would fit in these shoes).

In all honesty, I’m really not famous enough to have anyone want to track me by my longitude and latitude. I’m guessing the people who are famous enough to have anyone care about their every movement probably have their own paparazzi following them around anyway. In that case, they probably wouldn’t want their movements to be tracked. Ah, don’t you just love the society we live in?

You can pre-order a pair of these Bluetooth and GPS enabled shoes on the Isaac Daniel Website for just $150.

Actually, it was my mother who said that, and I have no idea if it’s true.

Still, for all those who don’t want to have cold feet (literally), then you might want to invest in Columbia Bugathermo boots. These boots have built-in rechargeable batteries that can heat them up for four to eight hours.

So I suppose you could call this an electric blanket for your foot, or the only true leg warmer. It has three settings that are located conveniently at the ankle.

As for the charging, you just plug them in and forget about them. I don’t know why they call them Bugathermo, that just sounds like a bug with thermite in it.

You should be able to get these Bugathermo heated boots on the Columbia Sportswear website in Black and Cedar for about $250 in varying sizes.

As a side note, I have seen the Bugathermo boot on many other gadget sites. Most of them are very negative to the idea of a heated boot, but I think it’s the price that scares them away.

Now, if they could put this tech on a ski boot, you might attract a whole different audience.

The company has recently announced the ContourHD 1080p, and it appears to be made for those that want to strap a camera on their head.

It certainly is light enough at 4.3 ounces, and records video footage on microSD cards. The battery life is sufficient for 2-3 hours per charge.

Believe it or not, it shoots in five modes, to remember them, use the simple acronym FTACF:

•	Full HD – 1080p (1920×1080) at 30fps
•	Tall HD – 960p (1280×960) at 30fps
•	Action HD – 720p (1280×720) at 60fps
•	Contour HD – 720p (1280×720) at 30fps
•	Fast SD – WVGA (848×480) at 60fps

Just to let you know, the camera is not as waterproof as this rafter in the photo is illustrating. It has an aluminum body that is weather and dust resistant, but you’ll have to buy the waterproof case separately if you want to take it on the water.

So for all those who want to wear a camera on their head to record their awesome life for all to see, then surely the VholdR Contour HD 1080p is for you. It even has a big red button to start recording, and you presumably push it to stop.

You should be able to purchase the camera come mid-October for about $329.99.

I’ve never seen a commercial for it, but it certainly works.

So what does it do? The DynaFlex Powerball is designed for hand and wrist exercises. Go ahead and read that last sentence and see if you can figure out why I didn’t use that as a headline. Perhaps I should have forgotten the innuendo and gone with it, and I might end up on Jay Leno’s headlines section of his new show.

Seriously, the Powerball has a gryoscope built in that can spin at 18,000 RPM. As a result, it generates 40 pounds of torque which helps exercise the wrist and prevent repeated wrist injury and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). I will do my best to describe it below.

You see, the gyroscope has to be spun, and I found it was best done with a string that you pull like a motorboat motor. Once the gyros are spinning, it is like the ball has a life on its own. The user must move his or her wrist in order to keep it spinning, and a light inside of it that glows brighter the faster it spins.

If you like to find out more about it, go to the DynaFlex website and pay $45.95 for it now.

Introducing MaruBot Football League, a new way of playing soccer on the table. As you can see, miniature robots rest safely under glass, and it is up to the four players (two on one team, two on the other) to control them.

These players are moved by joystick controls, and their goal is to make goals. Oddly enough, these robots have LEDs in their eyes that indicate emotions. So if the other team scores a goal, they look flat and sad. If you make a goal, the eyes look wide and happy. Check out a mini photo gallery after the jump to see for yourself.

Apparently, this game is a big hit in Korea, but I have yet to see it where I live in the United States. Then again, it’s not like I visit video arcades anymore.

Perhaps MaruBot Football League could breathe life into the arcades that are still around. That, or perhaps a home version could be made using a billiard table and four remote control robots. Or you could use two robots, as there are two-player versions of MaruBot Football League available.

All I can say is that it looks like fun.

Especially if you want to listen to music in the water. You can now have the best of both worlds with FINIS SwiMP3 player.

This isn’t the first time that we have reported on the SwiMP3 player, or an MP3 Player that can play underwater. I think this is the first time we reported on one that uses bone conduction technology, which we have also reported on in the past.

Bone conduction doesn’t require the user to stick anything in their ear to have good music, but relies on vibrations on the skin that somehow relays the sound to your brain.

In the case of the next generation SwiMP3 player, the bone conduction apparatus fits directly on the side of the swimmer’s goggles. All the controls such as play, pause, advance tracks are all on the ear.

Just to let you know, there is only 1GB worth of storage on this guy, but how many tunes are you really going to listen to when you take a dip, anyway?

You should be able to get the FINIS next generation SwiMP3 player for about $150.

The Domyos Interactive System is targeting a whole new type of audience of non-gamers as it doesn’t require any console to plug it into, but fits right into any television set or display.

From there, the user can work out with one of the game cartridges on an exercise mat that includes a sort of DDR type game that several players can join in on. (Provided they have the correct number of mats.)

There is also this hurdle sort of game, and this system keeps track of your calories burned. There is a video of it after the jump.

My source also reveals that it has “a bike attachment and a pair of reflective gloves for martial arts type fast reflex stuff”. You may have noticed that you didn’t see that in the video, and neither did I.

Well, my source didn’t have a price on this gaming device, nor any sort of availability date. You might ask yourself whether or not it can compete in a video game client with Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, but lets let the consumers decide.

Golf is a great, yet perplexing game. A budding duffer gets both relaxation and the utter stress of trying to figure out how to beat a damn little white ball with a stick. But what’s really frustrating for me is looking where my lie is and trying to guage how far out I am so I can choose the right club. The Bushnell Yardage Pro XGC GPC can help mitigate some of that stress and frustration. But you still have to work out that slice.

The Yardage Pro has a sharp high resolution LCD screen which gives shot information in full color and with it’s matte finish, can be seen with little glare in bright ambient light. The Yardage Pro gives you distance to hole information for up to 100 different courses around the world and can be updated with a simple upload. It has both hole up tracking and down the hole fairway perspectives and even keeps track of stroke information.

Comes with scorekeeping and statistic utilities, rechargeable lithium ion battery, belt clip and storage pouch.

Only downside is it’s cost … $350 from Bushnell.

This seemed like it might be a good idea at first glance. After all, feet slipping off of your bike pedals is obnoxious. Especially when you’re attempting to get a faster time, your feet slipping is often going to slow you down. Therefore these pedals having magnets built into them that keep your feet fused to the pedal would most definitely help out the situation. However, what’s going to make most people pause and rethink things is how much it’s going to cost to keep your feet on your bicycle pedals.

The biggest catch with these is that you need special shoes to go with the pedals. Those special shoes come from Mavic and Mavic only. Which means little to no chance of finding these any cheaper. The shoes themselves are sold in both male and female forms. Plus the soles of the shoes have been stiffened to make your bike ride a bit more comfortable. The pedals themselves will cost you $60 per pair and then the shoes $90.

Sure, that Twitter thing has made our lives easier for others to keep track of, but the NFL isn’t really liking it too much.

The NFL has set up a new rule saying that players, coaches, as well as league officials are forbidden from posting tweets or Facebook updates 90 minutes before the game. They can all resume transmission after the post-game interviews are completed.

Of course, this “tweet ban” has always been in effect, but I suppose its like that NBA regulation of not hanging off of the rim. I mean, it says in the books not to do it, but all the cool B-Ball players do it, and no one seems to penalize them.

Some people attribute this tougher twitter policy with Donte Stalworth, a player who was arrested for DUI and manslaughter. Stalworth felt a need to tweet all about his arrest, suspension, and his incarceration, and sort of made the NFL look bad.

Personally, I think that NFL just doesn’t want a team’s playbook to be posted online. Do you really want to see a coach tweet: “Gonna try an Inside Charge play. Should be a good one.”

By the way, the NFL says that members of the media will be banned from posting game updates on Twitter or Facebook. Good luck with that.

Not content in being number one in satellite navigation for the automobile, Garmin has just announced the Edge 500 for the bicycle.

The Edge 500 is one of those bike consoles that can do quite a lot more than your average bike console. Not only can it track the user’s GPS position, but it also gives the user readouts for velocity, distance, time, elevation, as well as climb and descent. It can also detect temperature, and will even change time zones automatically. Yes, a bike with an Edge 500 on it will call all other bikes wimps.

When connected to the Garmin heart rate monitor, the Edge 500 can detect changes in the user’s heart rate. This information can be used to detect the calories burned on the ride. As for the battery life, it is good for about 18 hours worth of “play-time”.

Apparently, Garmin was inspired by actual Tour De France rider Christian Vande Velde. He suggested a small device with a big screen, easy-to-use buttons, and a sturdier mount, “and Garmin listened”. By the way, Vande Velde is a member of Team Garmin’s bike team, so I really hope that they always listen to him.

The Edge 500 is going to be available soon for a retail price of $249.99, and $349.99 with the heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor.

Whether you’re lookin’ to fix a flat tire or pump up a flat football, the AirPro Cordless Air Compressor is ideal because it’s both battery operated and handheld. Great for bikers or brawlers, it provides up to 120 PSi of pumping strength and connects via a 15 inch air hose with locking Schraeder connector.

What’s really beneficial, is that the AirPro comes with two super bright LED work lights built into it so that if you’re stuck on the interstate at night you can not only see what you’re doing, but the lights will help you hunt down any foreign objects which may be sticking out of your tire. In the handle is an easy to read pressure dial and the top contains a hidden compartment for placing a variety of nozzle adapters including a ball needle.

The Air Pro is powered by a 12 volt DC power pack and includes a wall charger. Cost is about $70 from Brookstone. http://www-chi.brookstone.com/auto-and-car-gadgets2_airpro-cordless-air-compressor.html

One this is for certain, with a handheld capability, it sure beats pumping up and down on a plunger hoping to get your bike tire fixed.

What you seeing here is not a training bike for the Lightcycles of Tron, but a possible design for bicycles of the future. Designed by Chris Boardman, who is an Olympic cyclist, he has added a lot of tech to what was once a human-powered endeavor.

In fact, it appears that this future bike (which does not have a fancy name as yet) has a solar powered motor, so that uphill climb isn’t as hard as it used to be. It can also “play music”, and one can only assume that it has some sort of MP3 Player built-in, or something.

Did I mention a calorie counter? The bike has it, as well as a fingerprint recognition so that only the real rider can ride it. I suppose the theory is that a crook won’t steal a bike that he or she cannot ride. By the way, the whole bike is made of carbon fiber, and the tires are puncture-proof.

Of course, this bike is merely a concept now, but Boardman believes that it will be ready in 20 years. Personally, I’m thinking that it will probably take that long, because I just can’t see how you could fit all those features in the picture that you see here.

The non-slip footpads provide stable footing as you move your feet forward or backward, forcing you to engage your abdominal muscles to keep balance–typical elliptical machines do not engage your abdominal muscles because they have handholds to provide balance.
