Solar Powered, Motion Sensing Security Camera!

August 7th, 2006 by Liam in Home Gadgets, Solar Powered Gear, Spy Stuff

Solar Powered, Motion Sensing Security Camera!
I’ve written about a few solar powered gadgets, motion sensing gadgets and security/spy cameras in the past, however here’s an amazing gadget which combines all three technologies! This security camera not only powers itself from the sun, it also can be programmed to record or alert you when it detects something moving!

When motion is detected, the camera’s PIR motion sensor immediately begins transmitting video and audio to the receiver. When the receiver receives the transmission it beeps twice then begins flashing an LED light for one minute so you will know when to watch what’s happening.

Solar Powered Visor Radio
This is another funny solar powered gadget that might be slightly odd-looking to wear. The Solar Visor AM/FM Speaker Radio features a fully functional AM/FM radio and speaker all powered by the attached solar panel.

The visor has a built in solar panel which can gather up all the sun that would have been blinding you if you hadn’t had your trusty visor on. It powers the AM and FM radio which outputs the sound to a powerful speaker on the side so you can share the news, sports, weather or music with everyone around you.

Solar-Powered Flood Light

August 1st, 2006 by Liam in Home Gadgets, Solar Powered Gear

Solar-Powered Flood Light
This gadget would make outdoor activities and games a lot better at night without having to run extension cords across your lawn and tripping people all over the place. The Solar-Powered Flood Light is a powerful floodlight which you can leave outside all day to charge up then use for brilliant light at night.

The light is required to be attached to the included solar panel which has a 14′ long cable so you could put the panel where it would gather the most sun while the light can be put in a more practical area. It’s perfect for mounting on the side of your house so you could attach it to the solar panel on the roof.

I don’t think anything came of it, maybe ESSO lost a few pence off the share price though I’m sure they’ve made up for that and then some. A Swiss inventor has come up with a new idea that may make mobile masts a thing of the past… Read the rest of this entry »
