Panasonic prices their camcorders for the masses

Panasonic knows that the right price ought to be enough to entice even the most hardened consumer, and they decided to do something about it by announcing the different prices for their new range of full High Definition mobile cameras and camcorders, where the latter comprise of the HM-TA20 and HM-TA2, with the HX-WA10, the HX-DC10 and the HX-DC1 making up the former.
All of these five new models will arrive at the US market from early next month onwards, at price points that ought to keep most people happy – the HMT-TA20 will cost $199.99 while the HM-TA2 goes for $169.99. Other prices include $349.99 for the HX-WA10; $279.99 for the HX-DC10; and $199.99 for the HX-DC1. With that in mind, you can see that not one of them cost more than $350, letting it fall under the magical $500 impulse purchase limit for most folks.

inPerson HD webcam from CreativeLive!
The last time that I saw inPerson from Creative, it looked more like a laptop than a webcam, but it was a bold step toward telepresence technology.
Creative has recently announced that their Creative Live! Cam in Person HD meets “the exacting requirements for HD video calling in Skype”. The inPerson HD has H.264 video encoding processor so the user doesn’t need to have a high-performance CPU to receive a high-quality Skype HD video quality experience.
The iPerson HD also has a new “quad mic array” with the microphones precisely spaced along the nine-inch flat-panel surface of the camera. The inPerson HD also has some noise-canceling technology that removes ambient noise more effectively than other webcams.

LUMIX DMC-G3 – Big Camera in a Small Package
I consider myself a pretty serious amateur photographer, I love the hobby and have taken some very professional looking shots if I do say so myself. What I don’t enjoy is lugging around my huge camera and hefty lens, just for a trip to the beach, but I don’t want to miss out on any potentially amazing photo opportunities…
Well, Panasonic just announced a brand new addition to the LUMIX G Series of Compact Cameras, the LUMIX DMC-G3, this is the smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder that they’ve ever made. This new camera offers a much lighter and smaller camera than your more traditional DSLR allowing for much greater portability and more creative control. Smile!- You’re Going to Jail
Some Police Departments in the U.S are going high-tech to help fight crime. They’re installing their patrol cars with automatic license plate readers or ALPR’s. These cameras read license plates of parked and moving cars — hundreds per minute and they can take pictures of the plates as they pass by. If a suspect license plate number is read, audible and visual alarms can alert the officer within milliseconds of the license plate’s capture.
The cameras can also take snapshots of the vehicle itself, along with the date, time, and location. Officials say that if conditions are right, the camera’s can even get a shot of the driver. I guess these things make for a pretty good case against the bad guy. Continue reading » Smile!- You’re Going to Jail
The 3D Hero System – Because Two Cameras are Better AS One
The 3D HERO System is a modular casing design that lets customers combine two 1080p HD HERO cameras to form a single, really cool, 1080p 3D camera… and the world’s smallest and least expensive one at that. Waterproof to 180 feet, the 3D HERO System can be worn on the body, mounted on gear and vehicles, and used as a handheld camera. A dual-camera, polycarbonate, waterproof housing holds the two cameras together and something called a synchronization cable plugs into the back of each camera, enabling them to function as a single camera and a single shutter button controls both cameras.
“The 3D HERO System is exciting for a lot of reasons, one of them being that it’s not just a 3D camera. It’s really several cameras in one, depending on how the consumer wants to use it,” says Nicholas Woodman, GoPro’s founder and CEO. “That you can take two GoPro cameras that you would normally use independently and combined them to form a new type of camera, a 3D camera…that’s extremely cool. GoPro is excited to be the first company to build a camera this versatile.” Continue reading » The 3D Hero System – Because Two Cameras are Better AS One

The Hologram Kit – Not From a Galaxy Far, Far Away
I don’t know how old most of you were when Star Wars came out, but I’m sure most of you saw it. Does everyone remember the scene where Chewbacca and R2-D2 play that holographic chess game? Well, now you can make your own holograms with the help of this innovative kit. It seems like some kits have been around for a little while, but who knew you could make holograms at home? Not me.
This kit has everything you need to make an actual 3D laser hologram included, and it doesn’t seem like the process is too difficult, it actually seems easy enough to be done for say, a school project. Once you get the kit home, you can start making holograms right away! Check out the video HERE .
With Litiholo Film, NO processing and NO chemicals are required. To make a hologram, laser light is split into two different beams. One is reflected off of an object onto the film, while the other beam goes directly to the film. The two beams meet on film, causing a patterns of light and dark lines. The film captures this pattern, which is the hologram. Then, in order to view it, remove the object and turn the laser light on again. You’ll see an amazing 3D image, as if the object is still there.
You can also add an Upgrade Package, available separately, for increased capabilities. Includes a 10-pack of film at no extra change. Extra film is also sold separately. Lithiholo refill Pack includes 20 – 2′ X 3″ glass plates for making even more holograms.
Available for under a $120.00 bucks from www.x-tremegeek.com
