Most people know that owning a dog has some responsibilities that come along with it, the most important ones being: keep the dog fed and take the time out of your day to go on a nice walk. Knowing the US, there’s a category of people that want a dog, but don’t feel like going walking everyday. For those of you lazy people out there that fall into that category, you should do your dog a favor and get him/her the Doggy Treadmill. And yes, I think this is the most ridiculous pet gadget I’ve ever seen. Ever, I swear.

The Doggy Treadmill (seriously)

There is nothing quite like returning home from work after a stressful day at the office, only to unwind on your favorite sofa. Unfortunately, the not-too-bright mutt of yours has cheerfully usurped your throne without your consent, raising your blood pressure yet another notch as you try to reclaim your rightful place without a raised voice. Why not put the Pavlovian principle to the test with the Sofa Guard? Not only do you ensure your throne back home remains YOUR exclusive spot, it will also teach your pet even if you’re not around not to mess with his master’s La-z-Boy.

- Does your dog feel left out when everybody else gets cards at Christmas?
- Does he eat other peoples post to show he’s feelings?
Well a Yuletide solution is at hand with the edible Christmas card especially for dogs. Each card comes complete with a festive message and after reading can be chewed upon lovingly by your mutt.
Unless your dog is as smart as Gromit you can probably get away with giving him a Christmas card on on other special occasions too
.
Bone Idle Cards are available from Hawkin for £1.99.
Soothe your mutt with the K9 Kalmer
November 14th, 2006 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Pet Gadgets
Dogs can be the best of pals with us, staying by our side even though every single one of our two-legged friends has deserted us during times of adversity. Unfortunately, there are always two sides to a coin and your precious, loyal mutt can be a pain in the butt at times as you have to walk around scooping up his poop as well as scratch your head in bewilderment as you wonder why he can’t get some sleep during the wee hours in the night/early morning, howling and barking his head off for no apparent reason. On the other hand, there are some of us who are neighbors with the above-mentioned mutts, and it drives us nuts whenever we try to get some sleep with a vocal canine that cannot stop barking just next door. The K9 Kalmer claims to provide a solution to all your woes at an extremely affordable price.
Petwatch keeps pet well fed

You know what the drill is like each time there is a major release coming up, be it from the movie theaters (remember Star Wars III and the lines that formed a couple of days before?) or electronic boutiques (the recent release of the PlayStation 3 in Japan comes into mind, with the Nintendo Wii’s release in a few days’ time likely to prove the same ‘dedication’ from hardcore gamers). All this lining up and camping can be fun, but has it ever occurred to you that your pet who does not share your penchant for video games will be half-starved to death by the time you get home with your shiny new console?
Make a clean swoop of poop
November 11th, 2006 by Edwin in Garden Gadgets, Pet Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets
You know how having a dog can be the best of times and the worst of times. Your adorable mutt is more loyal than your spouse and doesn’t nag you, knowing what’s important in life – friendship and being there during times when you need him most. Unfortunately as we live in this fallen world, nothing is perfect, and even a dog as smart as Lassie will still give in to its animal instincts and leave poop all over your garden and neighborhood. Be a responsible citizen today and pick up the Swoop poop scooper for just £16.99 a poop pop.
Dogs minus the maintenance
November 3rd, 2006 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Pet Gadgets, Toys
How many of us like the idea of having our very own dog, and yet do not want to carry out maintenance tasks like bathing it, walking the mutt, playing catch (strange how a frisbee can have such a stranglehold on a dog’s attention), and cleaning up after it’s poop while doing the neighborhood rounds? All that is now possible with the Interactive Street Muttz that look extremely adorable with round, black eyes and an expression that is guaranteed to melt even the most stone cold heart.
