You know that feeling; you can just tell someone is coming to peek at what you’re doing. Now, what if you’re doing something you’re not supposed to be doing at work. At that precise moment, you’ve got to race to close all those suspect windows before that someone arrives.
Those worries will be gone forever, just give your handy StealthSwitch a tap.

Ultra Products release stackable peripherals
October 20th, 2006 by Edwin in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
One of the main reason of Lego’s success is the ability to piece together virtually every single piece as your imagination dictates. Ultra Products decided to inject some of the Lego element in their latest line of peripherals which can be stacked on top of one another in order to intimidate other devices on your workspace with their towering presence. You can choose from a vertical or horizontal position when rearranging your desk. Don’t worry about the devices overheating, as Ultra Products has made sure that there is ample space in between to prevent overheating issues.
USB Cube Card Reader
October 12th, 2006 by Tiago in USB Gadgets
I’m pretty sure you must be be sick of cubes right now, I mean that after reading about the Rubiks Hub that can handle 4 devices at the same time, and the Apple Store glass-cube-style that doesn’t please the Muslims, there is an imposing shape that starts to get annoying. But since I like to torture people I bring another cool gadget with the cube as shape - the USB Cube Card Reader.
It’s a small and portable (the size of a keychain really, this image works as a proof) USB2.0 card reader that has 2 versions compatible with the following memory cards:
- the old Memory Stick - launched in 1998 by Sony
- the Secure Digital card, best known as SD card – launched in 2000 by Panasonic, SanDisk and Toshiba, it was like direct competition between the two cards
LED Scrolling Badge gets the message across
October 9th, 2006 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
If you’re not the confrontational type and prefer to let words instead of fists do the talking at work, perhaps the magnetic LED Scrolling Badge will be the perfect device for your personality type. This interesting USB peripheral is a pretty thin device that comes with a red LED display in the front and some magnets at the back which enables it to be stuck on any metal surface such as your PC case or notice board. Since the magnetic LED scrolling badge does not have any wires attached to it, that means it’s use is not restricted by the length of a wire.
Vonage V-Phone
October 7th, 2006 by Tiago in USB Gadgets
The Vonage V-Phone can be considered one of the smallest phones in the world, it just depends on your definition of telephone.
This kind of phone comes in a USB form and works via the internet (much like the popular Skype), the full V-Phone package contains pre-installed software and a microphone to be plugged on the side of the USB. This pre-installed software made by Vonage has the basic phone features like capable of making/receiving calls (duh), but it also has not-so-basic-stuff caller ID and call forwarding - all this can be done/seen on the interface that will appear on the monitor after you plug it on the USB port. Proporta USB Mobile Device Charger
October 6th, 2006 by Al in Electronic Gadgets, Mobile Phones, USB Gadgets, iPod gadgets
I like proporta.com, they sell a load of cool stuff and also sent me a goodie bag of gadgets (which is a very good way to get my attention :)), the majority of which I’ll be giving away in our forums. Their latest product is the USB Mobile Device Charger.
Problem…
Battery life of new power-hungry mobile devices has a lot to answer for. We all know how annoying it is when your device runs out of battery when you need it the most - the phone call you had to make, the 3 hour journey you are on with no book to read, or that deal breaking email that you had to send… www.proporta.com have come up with the answer.
Solution…
The USB Cannon
October 4th, 2006 by Al in Toys, USB Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets
This gadget is similar to the USB missile launcher we reported on a few months ago but instead of firing missiles it’s a
cannon like those found at the circus.
Like the missile launcher it connects to your PC via USB, you can rotate it and change it’s elevation to aim. But instead of shooting at your colleagues your meant to try to land the flying baby in the safety net (though I’m sure you’ll still be able to shoot annoying work mates with it).
The USB cannon is available from Brando for $35.
