Some people have moved on to the world of notebooks without ever wanting to return to desktops ever again, citing portable productivity as their main reason. With notebooks encroaching on desktop territory in homes and offices worldwide, Logitech has seen the need for a peripheral that will provide a much more comfortable notebook user experience with the Alto, a one-piece notebook riser which features an integrated, full-sized keyboard, bringing the notebook screen level with the user’s eyes while removing the cons of typing on a cramped notebook keyboard.

November 1st, 2006 by Tiago in Miscellaneous Gadgets, USB GadgetsIf you are the type of person that enjoys to see microscopic views as a hobby, than I just found the perfect cool gadget for you. It is cheap and supposedly works pretty good, (for a hobby of course) so don’t think that this device can be used professionally. Maybe you will see it during some CSI series because they usually make up a lot of stuff there, but besides that point, I can only see the Digital Microscope being used for fun and experiments or maybe as a gift for kids that will learn something while using it.
So, the USB Digital Microscope is like a mini-camera that can zoom in and out with 3 different magnification levels, the lowest being 100X while the highest is 300X and in the middle we have 200X. Besides being able to zoom images, it can also do the same thing with videos. Read the rest of this entry »
Glider Mouse looks like Air Ping Pong handle
November 1st, 2006 by Edwin in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
Bring some much needed relief to your beleaguered wrist with this revolutionary ergonomic Glider Mouse from Hela. It does not look like any ordinary mouse at all, instead it takes on the shape of one of those air ping pong handles that you find at a local seedy arcade nearby. The Glider Mouse aims to provide you with the optimal working posture (no, slouching in a La-z-Boy chair is definitely not it) via the central mouse position, practically eliminating the potentially painful motion of moving your hand over to use the mouse. Since it is placed in the center and comes in a uniform design, both left- and right-handers are able to use it without running into any incompatibility issues.
RoadWarrior - scanner for pros?
November 1st, 2006 by Tiago in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
The RoadWarrior is a portable and small scanner full of high-tech and everything else that a gadget must have, including extra software that you probably won’t use much and is not related to the product itself. It is made by Visionner and they claim that it is supposed to be used by the mobile professional, whatever that means… I find it hard to see a so called professional walking around with a scanner as part of his luggage, as small as it might be – 2×1.5×11.4-inches – it’s not small enough to carry around; and 10 ounces can be considerable weight for the modest “mobile professional”. On top of that just imagine all the bumping that might occur when traveling and carrying the scanner… the included travel bag might offer some protection but I believe that scanners of this type are very fragile and can get damaged easy.

USB Drum Kit
October 29th, 2006 by Mike in Audio/Video Gadgets, USB Gadgets
Just like every other kid, I too faced the point in my life where I decided I wanted to be a drummer. I didn’t actually get a real drum, but I did get an electric one that lost its fun in about a month. Nowadays, I wish I had gotten the USB Drum Kit, maybe it would’ve lasted a couple of months longer.

CardScan Executive 800c reads business card with aplomb
October 27th, 2006 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, USB Gadgets
It is interesting to note that in this day of age and time, people still trade business cards the first time they meet up instead of beaming it over via IrDA or Bluetooth. Looks like old-school paper is not quite obsolete just yet despite the paperless onslaught by various advancements such as wireless technology, Microsoft Outlook, and the Internet. The CardScan Executive 800c is one device that all businessmen (and women) should not do without on their travels.

Kanguru 32GB flash drive is the pits
October 24th, 2006 by Edwin in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
Those who are suffering from a bad case of penis envy would do well to check out the Kanguru USB thumb drive which pooh-poohs at other flash drives which hold a mere 1GB to 8GB of data. Those who are looking for a tiny USB flash drive which has plenty of storage real estate would do well to check out the Kanguru as it comes with a whooping 32GB of space, dwarfing all other available alternatives in the market. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems and does not require the installation of device drivers, making it a truly versatile device for those who work with large files.
