March 19th, 2007 by Nick in Conceptual Gadgets, Mobile Phones, USB Gadgets

Huawei Concept Phone1

The Chinese mobile telephone company Huawei presented in CeBIT 2007 these cool concepts for new cell phones that may or may not be produced in the near future. The most interesting one is a mobile phone with an integrated USB connector that can be used without the need of an adapter or even a cable. The USB adapter is made with a flexible rubber that can be bent in any angle you need to connect it directly to your computer for transmitting data and charging your phone.

Keychain card reader for SIM and MicroSD

March 17th, 2007 by Mike in USB Gadgets

iMono
More and more useful gadgets are coming in smaller and smaller form factors.
For the most part, that’s a good thing (I like my camera nice and thin), but sometimes it doesn’t turn out nearly as well (remember UMPCs? Of course you don’t.) Don’t be sad though! This is one of those happy gadgets that benefits from its smaller form factor. In fact, it even has a nifty little keychain built right in so you can take it anywhere your keys go. What the devil am I talking about? It’s a mini card reader — this baby reads all of your SIM and MicroSD cards.

Muscle Toning Mouse

March 14th, 2007 by Al in USB Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

photo011.jpg

I’ve written about a massage mouse before (which was given as a gift and used once), but this latest gadget takes it to the next level, not only does it look like a mouse but it actually functions like one.

Information is a bit sparse (I could really do with learning Japanese), but by the looks of the pictures you simply connect two sticky electro pads to your body which will then stimulate your muscles on command.

I wonder if they code combine this with the next FPS so that when you get shot you have a muscle spasm in your back.

Further info in Japanese over at thanko, found via TokyoMango.

It is popular for the big shopping scenes that offer everything you can imagine in the electronic world such as computers, digital cameras, mobile phones, mp3 players, and so on. This post is to present you some of that Asian technology, not that it matters much (actually it does), but the problem was that I couldn’t find anything better to write about.

So here you have the latest products on the Akihabara universe:

Bou-Kun USB Keys

  • These USB pens were designed by a popular Japanese artist and made by Sollid Alliance

DataTraveler Reader - Flash Drive Meets Card Reader

March 12th, 2007 by Al in USB Gadgets

USB Drive with Memory Card

This is a cool idea, a USB Flash Drive with integrated card reader.

The DataTraveler Reader functions like a regular flash drive but you can also expand it with various memory cards (SD, MMC, SDHC, MMC, microSD, etc.). So not only is the drive expandable you can use it to read your memory cards when your on the move, so that’s one less gadget you’ve got to carry in your gadget bag.

For furter info on the DataTraveler Reader check out Kingston Technology, found via Trusted Reviews.
