You can’t deny that we’re living in a pill popping generation these days, where there is a solution to virtually every ailment (of course, you’ll have to discount diseases like hepatitis, AIDS, cancer, and its ilk). Of course, there are also others who pop pills for the wrong reason, of whom Pac Man is largely responsible. Nah, we’re kidding. Anyhows, to get on with the show, this disturbing trend has now surfaced amongst computer users, but with good reason. The all pervasive USB flash drive is now available in the classic red and white pill design, but of course the only thing this pill does is store your data and not meant for personal consumption.
Pill is actually a USB 2.0 flash drive

April 4th, 2007 by Al in Gaming Gadgets, USB Gadgets
I took delivery of my Nintendo Wii a couple of weeks ago and it is an awesome piece of kit, this next gadget should of come with the Wii or at least of been an official extra but no another company had to come up with the common sense to make a USB Charger for the Wii Remote.
The idea is so simple, the remote control docking station connects to the USB port at the back of the Wii and when the remote is not in use (in our house that is when we are asleep) dock the remote and let it charge. On the downside it does mean you need to leave the Wii turned on all the time, either that of connect it to a USB socket on your always on PC (or is that just me that never seems to turn the PC off).
You can get the Wii remote USB charger from Rare Mono Shop for $29.

Icron Technologies has finally lifted the curtains on the first wireless USB 2.0 hub in the world which is based on an industry standard 802.11g radio. A washable keyboard, mouse, and Smartcard reader
March 31st, 2007 by Mike in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
There’s this one keyboard in my house that is just nasty. I mean, the years of food, drink, greasy fingers, and not being cleaned didn’t do anything to helps its cause. It’s pretty much beyond cleaning at this point, unless you were to take out each key, individually clean it, then reassemble it. At that point, I think we can all agree it’s time for a new one. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll pick up the Washable Keyboard from Unotron. It won’t quite clean itself, but it makes it easier for you to do it yourself.

OCZ Trifecta a multi-tasker
March 29th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Mobile Phones, PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
OCZ Technology has been releasing its fair share of innovative and ultra-high performance memory products in the past, and this time the OCZ Trifecta SD card series has come under the spotlight, offering a unique three-in-one solution for those who deal with a myriad of devices. What makes the OCZ Trifecta SD card stand out from the rest is its form factor - it acts as a standard SD card to cater for devices such as digital cameras and digital video camcorders, but for smaller devices such as newer cellphones and portable media players, a microSD card is required and the OCZ Trifecta easily fills this need by removing the microSD portion of the card. Whenever you need to transfer data to a computer or are in need of an impromptu USB flash drive, just remove the bottom part of the OCZ Trifecta to reveal a USB connector and plug it into any available USB port.
Wi-Spy Spectrum Analyzer
March 27th, 2007 by Mike in USB Gadgets
I’m not a whiz at wireless networks, and when mine started acting up a few days ago, it was pretty annoying to fix it. I tried resetting it, changing some settings (that only made it worse), changing IP addresses and odd dances. In the end, I never actually fixed it. I merely swapped the router with another one I had lying around, and fortunately that worked for me. Now, the Wi-Spy Spectrum Analyzer might not have fixed my problem specifically, but it could’ve and I’m sure it can fix other people’s problems.

Dictionary on a stick
March 25th, 2007 by Mike in USB Gadgets
My first USB flash drive was $70. That was for 256mb of storage. Nowadays, you can get 4gb for less than that if you shop around a bit. Yea, it was expensive, but it sure beat carrying around 5 different floppies, which generally broke when you had that important paper due. My point is, that for a relatively little amount of money, you can get enormous amounts of storage in your pocket. Franklin is, somewhat at least, taking advantage of that and shipping a copy of the Merriam Webster dictionary on a memory stick.

USB Heating Knee Pads
March 22nd, 2007 by Al in USB Gadgets, Wacky GadgetsI can’t say I’ve ever suffered from cold knees whilst working but it’s good to know that if I ever do get struck down with such an ailment there is a USB solution, Warmmi USB Heating Knee Pads.
I’m guessing that the Warmmi would also work on cold elbows, another occupational hazard of all bloggers.
Further info and available to buy from vavolo for ~$20, thanks Cassily.
