kingston-drives.jpgKingston Technology is renowned for their flash memory products, and the company forges onward by expanding its line of USB flash drives by introducing the DataTraveler HyperX (also known as the DT HyperX) and the DataTraveler 110 (DT110) models. Both of them aim to leave the competition in the dust, designed for ultra-fast read/write speeds without breaking the bank. Both the DT HyperX and DT110 drives come in varying capacities, maxing out at 8GB.

Skype phone/mouse just looks awkward

by Chris

Skype phone/mouse

Remember yesterday when I was talking about convergence products? While the keyboard/Skype phone combination didn’t really appeal to me, I don’t doubt that there are people out there that would enjoy that particular device. However, cramming Skype phones into random peripherals seems to be the latest craze, and not all of them turn out quite as well as Buffalo’s keyboard/phone combo.

Buffalo announces a tiny Skype phone with attached keyboard

Buffalo Skype keyboard

If you have an office that’s as cluttered with gadgets as mine, you tend to appreciate convergence products. You have to be picky about which functions you want to have packed into a single device. For instance, a webcam built into your monitor might be cool, however, a mouse that’s also a label printer is not. (Yes, such a thing does exist). Here’s one that I’m pretty undecided on. It’s a Skype phone that’s built into your keyboard.

iMONO 80-in-1 High Speed Card Reader

by Edwin

imono80in1cardreader.jpg

Now how about that – an 80-in-1 Memory Card Reader? I thought the number stopped at fifty-something the last time I checked. My, my, how time flies.

iMONO 80-in-1 High Speed Card Reader supports 8-bit read-and-write speed – an Incredible speedy data transfer! No card adapters are needed as it compatible with most popular memory cards (Support the latest card types as SDHC, MMC4.2, CF4.0, micro SDHC and mini SDHC).

Brando is carrying this for $17.00, which is a pretty decent price if you ask me considering how everyone else is slowly but surely migrating over to the higher capacity formats these days. With measurements of 100mm x 27mm x 15mm, this is surely one portable friendly device.

Maxtor OneTouch 4

Maxtor

If you regularly use a computer, then you always have that terrible fear that the next time you log off will be the last time. I’m not talking about your own death, but something that seems far worse. It’s that black screen that tells us that our computer, as we knew it, is no more.

Fortunately, this is why there are external back-ups, and more and more people really need to use them. Especially when we live in an age when all our pictures, videos, music, and other important files are centrally located on the computer.

USB drive holds your presentation and the software needed to run it

by Chris

NewSoft

How many times have you taken your laptop somewhere to give a presentation only to find out that they won’t let you hook it up to the projector, but rather you must use their computer to run it? I don’t give a lot of presentations, so I’m not really sure how often that happens to someone. For most people it wouldn’t be a huge deal, but if their computer doesn’t have the exact presentation software on it you need, you’ll run into some major issues. If you’re ever worried about such an instance, this flash drive from NewSoft will put you at ease.

Gamercize PC

What’s the easiest way to suck all of the fun out of your favorite activity? Just throw in a little exercise and you’ll be sure to hate it within just a few minutes. Now I’m not talking about things like the Wii which get you up and make you move a bit while playing your game, that’s actually kind of fun. I’m talking about the Gamercize, which makes you keep stepping or pedaling in order for you to keep playing your PS2. We covered the Gamercize for your PS2 when they came out back in September, but the creators have developed a new version that’s sure to make you hate your job more than you already do. That’s right, Gamercize PC.

Protect your portable data with RFID

by Chris

RFID Drive

If you have a portable drive that you carry around, there’s a good chance you’ve worried about your data being stolen, especially if you have sensitive information stored on it. There are a few ways you can keep it secure. While there’s no foolproof way to make sure that a thief won’t be able to pick it up and run off, you can make sure that they won’t get to your precious files. There are many methods from simple passwords to biometric locks, however, this is the first RFID-protective drive I’ve seen thus far.
