Microsoft announces price drop for Vista

March 2nd, 2008 by Chris in PC Gadgets, Software, Tech News

Vista

Windows Vista has been out for over a year now, and yet many people are still hesitant to upgrade, and frankly, I don’t blame them. I have one machine that runs Vista, and that’s only because it came installed on my laptop. For many reasons I’m just not ready to upgrade the other half-dozen machines in my house, one of which is that I don’t want to shell out all of the extra dough when XP is doing just fine. Apparently there are plenty of others thinking the same way, and thankfully Microsoft has been listening. They have announced that later this month they will be cutting prices on their latest versions of Windows.

BBMNATION for BlackBerry users

February 13th, 2008 by Edwin in Software

bbnation.gifBlackBerry users, rejoice! There is now yet another social networking site for you to further lower your productivity. Known as BBMNATION, this unique portal enables you to hook up with other members using BlackBerry PINS. Although BBMNATION isn’t complete at this point in time, hopefully everything will be up and running in the near future. While this won’t usurp the position of Facebook in your life, it is a welcome distraction and you know, you could fake work on your BlackBerry when in reality, you are actually catching up with friends on it.

All firmware versions get iPhone unlock solution

February 10th, 2008 by Edwin in Mobile Phones, Software, iPod gadgets

iphone-unlock.jpgIf you happen to own a brand new iPhone (or are a seasoned iPhoner by now) and want to unlock your handset, I bring you good news. There is now a brand new iPhone unlock solution that works on all firmware versions, allowing you unprecedented freedom on your iPhone as never before without being shackled to AT&T’s contract. This revolutionary unlock software will work with all firmware versions from 1.0.0 till the current 1.1.3 version. Another wonderful aspect about this software is its compatibility with iPhones all over the world, so you don’t have to worry whether you’re in Africa or in Asia - as long as you have an iPhone in your possession, you will be able to use it freely without having fears or worries about turning it into an expensive (albeit good looking) brick.

Vista SP1 coming this March

February 5th, 2008 by Edwin in Software

vista-sp1.jpgI know that Al has had his fair share of frustration with Windows Vista (so did Marc at the recent CES event), but I suppose it was just the operating system being pushed out to the market rather prematurely, and hence required a fair bit of time to adjust to its environment, and we, it. After a fair number of months, Microsoft has made an important announcement for the Vista operating system - the Redmond giant aims to release Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows Vista to manufacturing soon, and users of this rather buggy platform will soon be able to get their grubby hands on it in five different languages - English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese. This SP1 will be made available as a download from the middle of next month onwards, just in time for the release of new systems that come pre-installed with Vista SP1.

Track your Domino’s pizza online

January 31st, 2008 by Chris in PC Gadgets, Software

Dominos

I eat a lot of pizza, one might even call me a connoisseur of the pizza pie. I sample the (usually) circular dishes from a variety of restaurants on a regular basis. I’d say about half the time I choose the option to have my food delivered. During those forty minutes or so, I’m constantly wondering exactly when my pizza will get here. Well the fine folks at Domino’s Pizza have gone above and beyond to make sure you know where your pizza is, and what it’s doing.

Optimal Office Mouse Reads Your Stress Levels

January 29th, 2008 by Mark R in Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets, Software

Optimal Office Mouse

I think that anyone who is on the computer knows what stress is, especially at the office. Fortunately, the Optimal Office Mouse is here for us to both monitor and relieve our stress.

As you can see, the Optimal Office Mouse differs from your average mouse with that metallic spot on the side. All you have to do is press your thumb on that spot in order to gauge your stress levels.

Once the mouse detects that your stress levels are high, the included software kicks in and suggests that you perform some stress-relieving exercises. According to the site, the device uses Web 2.0 processes for stress relief that works on three levels.
