Super Micro Computer launches 2 new desktop platforms

Apparently there are still places in the world where the brains of a product matter for less than the looks. I prefer my gadgets to look nice just as much as any girl and this product is indeed cute. However, it is a whopping 4GB, which has its uses of course. You could always have it tossed in your purse for those very random emergency situations. Beyond that, 4GB just seems like far too little to keep me happy. I don’t know, maybe you only save one document at a time then erase it, if that’s the case then you might be interested in this little USB drive.

Microwaves are truly an awesome appliance. You could call them the epitome of the bachelor gadget, since so many unmarried men seem to rely on the device for all of their meals. We can’t say we’ve ever thought of using a microwave like this.
This excellent PC case mod makes your computer look like a stock-model microwave, complete with a cheap LED layout and a horizontally opening door. The window on the microwave has been ingeniously modded to act as the computer’s display, not to mention the microwave-themed desktop wallpaper.

Have you ever tried working on a laptop or a super fast desktop PC in a non-air conditioned room? The mercury shoots up pretty fast, leaving you to sweat beads in no time. Arctic Cooling understands that gaming in an uncomfortable environment just ain’t down, hence releasing its latest product - the Arctic Breeze. This portable USB desktop fan helps keep things cool by sending out a refreshing breeze during hot, sunny weather. This 92mm fan won’t wake up the dead thanks to a low noise impeller, offering speeds of 1,200rpm and 2,000rpm that can be adjusted according to how hot you’re feeling. Although powered via USB, it comes with an On/Off switch that does away with the need for you to plug or unplug it. The Arctic Breeze will arrive in time for summer this June, retailing for £8.

Iomega eGo hits 1TB mark
May 30th, 2008 by Edwin in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
Iomega’s eGo desktop hard drive has come in stylish variations in the past, but somehow storage space has always been limited until today. The leader in data protection and security has finally rolled out a 1TB version of its eGo desktop hard drive, dubbing it the “Super eGo“. Just how much more bloated do you think it will get in the future, and will other names feature even more astounding superlatives such as “Extreme eGo” or “Ultra eGo”? I’ll leave that to your imagination, but for now we’ll have to be content with the Super eGo being available in ruby red, midnight blue and jet black colors. It too, will take after a similar design as found on the hugely popular eGo portable hard drive, one of Iomega’s best sellers to date. To know more about the Super eGo, read on after the jump.
Asus New Controllers have a design Wii are all familiar with
May 30th, 2008 by Mark R in Gaming Gadgets, PC GadgetsI couldn’t resist reporting on this one. After all, I love the Wii, and everyone loves Asus.
Asus recently demonstrated a pair of controllers at a recent tech fair in Taipei, and it caused a stir amongst gadget blogs everywhere. The purpose of these remotes appear to be advanced gaming controllers. I have included a video of it in action at the end of this article.
The controllers bear a strong resemblance to a certain Nunchuck belonging to a certain console system whose last name rhymes with Mii. I suppose that there could be material for a lawsuit here from Nintendo. Yet unlike the controller for the Wii, the Asus controller uses two Nunchucks, and they are not wired together. Not only that, but these Asus controllers are bright orange instead of Wii white.
Surf Chair Workstation
May 30th, 2008 by AndrewD in Home Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets
I don’t know about you, but sitting in the same position all day is really a pain, literally. It’s almost as if our backs have become accustomed to being in that one position, and are slowly evolving into a stiff curvature which keeps us in the seated position at all times.
And we can’t stay in that position ALL of the time, no matter how nerdy we might be. Though there might be a solution to staying with your computer in a much more comfortable and lounge-like atmosphere. The Surf Chair looks like a total dream to use for gaming, or darn near any sort of long-term computer session.
