Join LG L226WTQ LCD monitor has high contrast ratio
LG has just released its L226WTQ LCD monitor that claims to be the first of its kind to feature a 5,000 to 1 contrast ratio, although most folks know that such a criteria is often the least reliable specification where screen technology is concerned. Other features of the L226WTQ include a maximum resolution of 1,680 x 1,050, a 2ms response time, 300 nits of brightness and a 170-degree viewing angle. Only the silver version of the L226WTQ will be available in the UK, which is a pity since the black model looks much more appealing. There is no definite price tag yet, but it ought to hover between the £200 and £250 mark.

With flash memory increasing in price all the more while experiencing price drops, Kingston has moved with the times by shipping higher capacity DataTraveler Mini fun and DataTraveler Mini USB flash drives in capacities that reach 4GB. The former will also come pre-loaded with a Sudoku game and Atlantis that was included in prior models. You can now choose from 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities. Rest assured, the dimensions remain the same – the 4GB version will retail for $62 a pop, which is pretty affordable.

Asus Eee PC gets new shade
If you fancy picking up the Asus Eee PC but haven’t done so yet since you loathe its white color, there’s some light at the end of the tunnel. Word has it that Asus will be shipping its Eee PC in black as well from this month onwards. Online retailer Expansys has already jumped onto the black maria, shipping it in 9 days’ time with an additional $20 slapped onto the original price tag. Plantronics has just launched its mono headset known as the Audio 610 USB in Korea, and this will target folks who keep in touch with family and friends using VoIP software since it was specially designed for Internet calling purposes. Features include a noise-canceling microphone, a bendable boom and swivel-mounted ear cushions for superior comfort. No idea on how much it costs, but it sure as heck makes you look like a call center drone when wearing one.
