Get Your Own Virtual Girlfriend (or Boyfriend)

August 8th, 2006 by Al in Electronic Gadgets, Gaming Gadgets, PC Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Virtual GirlfriendThis is like an adult version of Tamagotchi, the aim of the game is to bed your virtual partner (okay the aim is to keep him or her happy (and then get your cyber wicked way)).

Each device comes with 8 different potential mates, so if you get bored of one you can treat her mean in the hope of being dumped so that you can move on to your next conquest. Playing the game sounds pretty simple:

The more satisfied your virtual date becomes, the more points you collect and the longer the relationship lasts. Using the three control buttons you can select between gifts (anything from lingerie to deodorant), compliments (oblique or spectacularly blunt), places to go (the jewellers or to the bingo) or, if you’re feeling lucky, wild passion.

Available from Firebox (due to the risqué language this is not suitable for kids). Thanks to the biggest NY Giants football fan I know for the news.

8GB USB Microdrive

August 5th, 2006 by Mike in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

tone8.jpgThumb drives can store up to a couple gigabytes of data in a device the size of, well, your thumb. The only downside is that as you get past the gigabyte mark, thumb drives become very expensive.

Carrying around a hard drive doesn’t sound that great, but the T.One isn’t your regular hard drive, it fits in your pocket.

The T.One is a portable hard drive with 8 gigabytes of storage, and connects to your computer via USB 2.0, but is also compatabile with USB 1.1 (for the poor people who still have that). It’s compatabile with Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Computer Rear View Mirror

August 2nd, 2006 by Liam in PC Gadgets

Computer Rear View Mirror
This gadget is quite self-explanatory, however it’s a great idea. If you’ve ever been startled by someone coming up behind you and reading what you have on the screen, especially if it’s not something you’d like them to see ;), then you could benefit from a rear view mirror on your computer. It easily hooks onto your monitor so you can have eyes on the back of your head while at your workspace.

You can pick one up for just £4.45 from Ministry of Gadgets.

HyperPen

August 1st, 2006 by Liam in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

HyperPen
This is a really cool gadget. If you want the great functionality that comes with tablet PCs however you’re too cheap to fork out the cash for one or you’d rather stick with your desktop but want to be able to give writing-like input, the HyperPen is definitely for you!

The Aiptek HyperPen 12000 USB is an amazing USB gadget that gives you a writing or drawing surface so you can have your own virtual notepad. It would be perfect for things like creating artwork, virtual signatures, or retouching photos with the precision of a pen.

USB Vase Speaker

July 26th, 2006 by Al in Audio/Video Gadgets, PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

Vase SpeakerPC speakers generally look pretty plain and boring (unless you can afford crazy speakers like these), so I was interested to see the Vase USB PC Speaker.

The Speaker is shaped like a vase (hence the name I guess) and also includes an LED glow and acoustic Lens (???) so you get a little light show with your tunes.

Introducing Apple’s New Bluetooth Mighty Mouse

July 25th, 2006 by Lexia in Miscellaneous Gadgets, PC Gadgets, Tech News

Bluetooth Mighty MouseHot from the tech news wires - Apple is set to release a souped-up Bluetooth version of it’s Mighty Mouse pointing device. It’s predecessor, also named the Mighty Mouse, was Apple’s only multi-button mouse model. Not only that, the Mighty Mouse uses laser triangulation to accurately pinpoint your pointer’s location. Apple are claiming that the laser tracking is 20 times more sensitive than typical optical mice on the market. So, no more fighting your mechanical mouse-ball to click on your favourites!
