September 29th, 2008 by Ally in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

If you’ve been missing your Barbie days, with all of her tiny clothing and accessories you’ll love this USB drive.  It’s disguised in the form of a tiny toy purse, although parents with girls that enjoy Barbies might run into some issues.  Specifically with the girl stealing your USB drive all the time, which is no good when you need that for work.  Modeling the handbag is the USB Super Kid Flash Drive, so if you purchase them both you’ve got childish toys to keep you entertained at work.

Wirelessly download pictures from a Samsung camera to your computer? Maybe Nabee

September 26th, 2008 by Mark R in Digital Cameras, Photography, USB Gadgets

I believe we have previously reported on devices that can help users wirelessly download images from a camera directly to the PC. One of the most famous is the Eye-Fi, a memory card that allows such a transfer, and now there is the Nabee.

The Nabee is designed by Samsung Techwin and Alereon, and designed specifically for wireless connectivity with Samsung brand cameras. All the user has to do is plug one end into the camera, and plug the other into the PC with a USB key. The transfer is fast, and efficient up to 10 meters.

Super Kid USB 4-Port Hub

September 26th, 2008 by Edwin in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

While most 4-port USB hubs come in their regular, boring rectangular shape, the Super Kid USB 4-Port Hub takes a totally different approach, hooking up your various USB devices using his hands and feet. These ports are all flexible, so you don’t have to worry about extra large connector designs getting in the way of each other. I know I will definitely live out the last moments of William Wallace’s life in the movie Braveheart with the Super Kid USB 4-Port Hub by racking him during those boring moments at the office. This nifty USB gadget is yours for $14.

The Pretec i-disk Vogue 1GB USB Drive

September 25th, 2008 by Ally in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

I don’t think I can ever really understand the need to make USB drives shiny and then attach them to a chain so you can wear them around your neck.  I realize they are trying to make technology fashionable to wear, I just don’t see it happening for the general public.  Especially when they create a USB drive that has that overly cheap colored gold painted onto it.  It’s just not really a thumb drive that screams class.

Panasonic ups ante with new Toughbook line

September 25th, 2008 by Edwin in Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets

When it comes to tough notebooks, only one company comes into mind for most people - Panasonic and their range of Toughbooks. The name itself gives the game away, I suppose, and today we have major updates to the Toughbook line, spearheaded by the thin and light F8, the T8 which is a tablet alternative that you can use as a bullet proof shield (I jest, but you get the idea on just how tough it is) as well as the extremely portable W8 that targets those who are always on the go. The common denominator would be the number 8, and the 8 Series Toughbook mobile computers will all feature the Gobi 3G mobile broadband solution courtesy of Qualcomm that allows one to remain connected to high speed mobile Internet no matter where they are.

Sony rolls out 3rd gen Blu-ray disc writer

September 25th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, PC Gadgets

Sony has just released its third generation internal Blu-ray disc writer for the masses without costing too much, ensuring you get to make an affordable upgrade for a cost-effective backup solution. This new model is known as the BWU-300S, and unless you have tons of data to burn and make backup copies at home or at the office, I still think regular DVDs will suffice. After all, not every home has a Blu-ray player at this point in time, but sure as heck nearly every home with a computer is able to read DVDs, right? More on the Sony BWU-300S right after the jump.
