Clutter-Free Printer Caddy for fewer headaches

July 16th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Office Gadgets

printer-caddy.jpg

The office desk is more often than not an extremely messy place, but this Clutter-free Printer Caddy helps to keep things organized by storing paper, ink cartridges, and other print necessities under one roof, or should I say, shelf. Your printer sits pretty at the top (we’re talking about personal printers here and not those monstrous industrial ones) while everything else is stored at the bottom. The Printer Caddy comes in a dark cherry color with cable slots behind to keep everything neat and tidy. A couple of glass inlay drawers and two open shelves round off the list of features. The Clutter-free Printer Caddy measures 6.5″ x 21.5″ x 15.25″ and retails for $69.95.

Brando readies USB Can Cooler And Warmer

July 14th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets

usb-can-cool-warm.jpg

Brando has yet another interesting yet useful gadget to have by your computer, and this time it is the USB Can Cooler And Warmer. Perfect for people on either spectrum who want their hot drinks to remain just that – hot, while folks who love a cold can of cola wish to maintain that coolness minus the diluting effects of ice. The USB Can Cooler And Warmer fits the bill perfectly, marrying chilling and warming technology using USB power without the need for an external adapter. This $32 device can cool your can below 18 to 20 degrees of the ambient temperature, while heating a drink up to 65 degrees more thanks to the set point thermostat.

Desktop Trebuchet spells trouble

July 11th, 2007 by Edwin in Gadget Gift Ideas, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Office Gadgets, Toys

desktop-trebuchet.jpg

Our medieval forefathers certainly had a swinging good time in the fields, and I don’t mean sitting down idly while watching the different constellations with a horn of wine in one hand. No sir, they loved swinging their weapons around – ranging from a heavy two-handed battle axe to a huge sword. Casualties on the battlefield back then were really high, and there was no CNN in those days to tally up the daily death total for the masses to know, and hence the King (or whoever was in charge) had nothing to worry about in terms of popularity polls unlike today. The machines of war in those days were also extremely brutal, with battering rams, catapults, and trebuchets causing even the most battle hardened person quake in his knees when these come knocking on your city walls. We today have much more advanced weaponry that minimizes the loss of life (for the assault party), but thankfully the weapons of yore are preserved with this Desktop Trebuchet from Firebox.

Numbers shake into existence

July 11th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Office Gadgets

shake-u-lator.jpgWe know of solar-powered calculators, but here’s a unique proposition as it uses Faraday’s Principle of Electromagnetic Energy to power itself. All you need to do is shake this primitive number cruncher from side to side, enabling the magnet within to slide through the copper coil in order to generate electricity for your calculations. Should the numbers on the LCD display start to dim, just pick it up and shake it a few more times. Definitely a distraction in exam halls nationwide, but hey, if it helps save the earth, what’s forking out £9.99 for one of these?

Desktop Replacement Docking stand concept

July 5th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets

tablet-pc-docking-station.jpg

Adam Ohern has concocted the Desktop Replacement Docking stand (known as the DTR) which offers users the ability to turn any tablet in its open form to a desktop whenever the situation permits. When mounted neatly into the docking port, all of the tablet’s power and port functions are transposed over to the DTR, ensuring you don’t lose one bit of USB connectivity. The entire setup consists of a pair of built-in speakers and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. Will this concept take off? I love the mouse and keyboard though, although the former doesn’t look too ergonomic no matter which angle I try to look at it from.

Dynahand does away with passwords

July 3rd, 2007 by Edwin in Conceptual Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets

dynahand.jpgRemembering all your passwords can be a pretty tricky process, don’t you think? Gone are the days where all you needed to have in your mind was your Social Security number, a couple of phone numbers (landed lines mind you), and perhaps a birthday or two. These days, you have tons of email addresses to attend to (both corporate and personal), various logins for a whole ton of websites as well as PIN codes and security passwords in buildings. This is just pure information overload, but thankfully there is the Dynahand system that aims to make logging into websites a wee bit easier.

Canon Announces New Printers for Photo printing and more

July 3rd, 2007 by James in Home Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets, Photography, USB Gadgets

Canon MP740

Canon has announced new printers which promise greater resolution and performance as the electronics giant continues to focus on photo printing options for it’s users. The printers include two additions to it’s Pixma Line and a stand alone Photoprinter. The Pixma MP470 and MP210 are all in one printers which cost $100 and $80 respectively. They have an output of 4800 x 1200 dpi, can scan images at 2400 x 4800 dpi, and use a standard USB 2.0 connection.

Also featured is a 1.8″ color LCD (MP470 only), a built-in memory card reader and PictBridge port – which we’ve come to expect in most Canon printers. This means that users can print photos while bypassing a PC connection. In addition, the PictBridge port supports an optional Bluetooth adapter for wireless printing.

Jasper Keynote, the ultimate Presentation Laser

June 30th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Office Gadgets

jasper-keynote.jpg

Ah, presentations. Nearly everyone has gone through a corporate event before, where some guy standing in front is rambling on and on without any sign of stopping while you try to combat a strange feeling of sleepiness that has suddenly enveloped you for no reason. Other than fancy animation and sound, the only way a presentation can really catch your attention would be: – the upcoming tea break where they serve mouth watering savories as well as beer, or a laser pointer that is totally different from any other models in the market. We’ll leave the cakes and coffee for a later article, as today we shall concentrate on the Jasper Keynote laser device.
