ZoomSwitch ZMS10

by Edwin

zoomswitch.jpgIf you happen to be a heavy phone headset user, then perhaps the ZoomSwitch ZMS10 could be just the headset accessory for you, enabling the user to access both phone and computer communications via a single headset. This is one interesting add-on to any office, considering the soaring popularity and increased use of both computer-based communications and audio applications such as unified messaging, online music, VoIP softphones, voice recognition software and internet telephony services such as Skype. Why not merge the functionalities of both in a single headset? After all, it will surely save you a whole lot of time switching between headsets without the ZoomSwitch. In addition, companies will also be able to save cost in the long run since they don’t need to have so many headsets lying around.

Elektrobit unveils HSPA handset

by Edwin

eb-terrestar.jpgCTIA Wireless 2008 was the platform where Elektrobit released its dual-mode satellite terrestrial HSPA handset, and this modern marvel has stirred quite a fair bit of interest. It touts itself to be the “first fully IP-based Quad-band GSM-satellite phone” which features a touch screen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, USB, and GPS navigation, all powered by the Windows 6.1 mobile operating system. It will come in a PDA form factor, where users in the US will be able to seamlessly and securely connect via both the satellite and terrestrial components of the TerreStar network. That is currently the sole carrier at this stage, so who knows whether there will be others in the future?

Lego Correction Tape

Don’t get me wrong here, I love my Legos. Yes, I still have several boxes of those tiny bricks sitting in my closet. However, it seems like people are making everything out of them these days. Many of them are cool, while others beg the question of why. Take for example this correction tape.

desktop-air-purifier.jpgWorking at the office all day long can be quite a drag, especially when the ventilation in there isn’t much to shout about. How about having the Desktop Air Purifier grace your desk for some much needed fresh air?

Occupying as little desktop surface as a postcard, this compact air purifier from the manufacturer of our Best Air Purifier creates a personal clean air zone in your office, home, or hotel room. by Edwin

sanyo-xw60-projector.jpg

Sanyo has thrusted its PLC-XW60 XGA LCD projector into the limelight, touting it to be the smallest and lightest XGA LCD projector in the market at this point in time. In fact, it is so tiny that it can be carried around in one hand without straining your back muscles – a far cry from the LCD projectors of old that required you to have the strength level of the Hulk in order to lug it around. The PLC-XW60 tips the scales at a mere 3.6 lbs and comes with a whole host of features such as automatic keystone correction, automatic input signal detection, an adjustable color mode for projecting on different surface colors, and an easy-off function that allows users to pull the plug and store the projector without waiting for a cool-down cycle. It has been released especially to target traveling business people, corporate offices and classrooms.

by Edwin

gadget-pen.jpg

How many gadgets do you know actually cram in as many as 5 features in a single device? Well here’s the 5-in-1 Gagdet Pen to prove it so, featuring a pen, a mini torch, a laser pointer for your presentations, a stylus for those touch screen devices and even a bank note checker to see if anyone returns you fake $1 bills. After all, you can’t be that much of a high flyer considering the 5-in-1 Gagdet Pen retails for a mere $11, so looking out for counterfeit Benjamins is pretty much a far-fetched idea.

Plush Mario Sound Bops get updated

by Edwin

mario-sound-bops.jpgEveryone recognizes the sounds from Super Mario Bros. if they grew up through the videogame era, so why not invite these Mario Sound Bops into your home and office for some stress relief?

With these Plush Mario Sound Bops peppering the course when we squint our eyes we can almost envision being in a real video game. Hit the plush Brick Block on the bottom and you get a coin sound from the game. Jump on the plush Goomba (or simply bop him on the head) and he makes the defeated Goomba sound… unless you bop him one too many and you get the “game over” noise.

Each of these retail for $24.99, but think about it. The Brick Block ought to be the best return-on-investment product considering the fact that it spits out gold coins.

Text Scanner reads and researches along with you

by James

Dixau 1

Adding to our growing fascination with text scanners comes a device that promises to help out researchers looking to collate a lot of data for reports. This small, handheld scanner is called the Dixau from Korean company Unichal. This digital text scanner uses a camera to literally read along with its reader, not only scanning the text from a book but the cool part is that it will then reference online searches from Google, wikipedia, and even dictionaries to give the reader a more complete picture of the story or text entry they are attempting to study. Imagine writing a dissertation about a historic even and the Dixau brings along Wikipedia entries to the party.
