Eee design head for desktop

November 11th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets

asus-eee-laptop.jpg

Asus’ recently launched Eee laptop has garnered some pretty rave reviews all over, not only due to its design but bang for your buck as well. As the old (but true) adage goes, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Asus has reported that it plans to launch a desktop version of the Eee PC in the near future. Although no concrete release date has been assigned at this point in time, it could be much sooner than we think, quite possibly sometime next year. Just like the $199 gPC that is currently available at Wal-Mart, the Eee PC desktop will not come with a monitor but it ought to jostle for some respectable amount of sales in the ultra-value segment with an extremely competitive price point.

AirLive WN-5000R unveiled

November 9th, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets

airlivewn-5000r.jpgAirLive announced its WN-5000R Draft 2.0-capable 802.11n wireless router that stakes its claim to fame by producing a rather noticeable increase in real-world speed courtesy of a combination of multiple-in, multiple-out antennas and optimized transmitters that produces 120Mbps of usable bandwidth. Not only is it up to half a dozen times faster than the practical speed of 802.11g, it also offers a much longer range. The low-profile WN-5000R makes it a cinch to fit it into a tightly-packed setup without any problem. Other features include a quartet of 100Mbps Ethernet ports and WEP/WPA encryption. No word on availability but it ought to make its way through resellers in the US soon.

Black & Decker Alligator Lopper Electric Chain Saw

Black & Decker Alligator Lopper Electric Chain Saw

If this Black & Decker existed 50 years ago, I bet it would be a hit for sure.

The Black & Decker Aligator Electronic Chain Saw has a 4.5 Amp motor, and a 4-inch cut limit. You can use it to cut small (or big) pieces of wood to use on your fireplace, unlike what happens while using a manual chain saw, you won’t get tired.

Take a big bite out of fallen trees, tree limbs and brush with the Alligator Lopper, a revolutionary new cutting tool that provides chainsaw-like cutting performance in an un-intimidating and easy to use tool. With its scissor-like action, the Alligator Lopper’s rugged metal jaws clamp onto logs and thick branches, as well as smaller tree limbs and vines and then saws through them with ease.

Price: $99

Label Printer Mouse – A good idea gone wrong

November 6th, 2007 by Chris in Electronic Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, Office Gadgets, PC Gadgets

Label Printer Mouse

A quick glance around my office will tell you that I have a lot of gadgets. I’m really not sure how it happened, as it seems like not that long ago I had so few. I suppose that over time I’ve discovered that I rely on technology more than I’d care to admit. It’s only natural that I go out of my way to find convergence products that allow me to consolidate my ever-growing collection of gadgets. While there are a lot of good products that fit into that category, there are an abundance of poorly-designed ones. With that said, I give you the Label Printer Mouse.
