KeyPad Pen

by Edwin

With more and more devices boasting touch screen functionality these days, it makes perfect sense to come up with a regular pen that doubles up as a stylus as well – hence, the KeyPad Pen.

No more chipped fingernails, and no more ink marks on the keys of your electronic device or telephone! The KeyPad Pen combines the convenience and style of a handsome writing instrument with a PDA stylus for use with touch screens and keypads. Makes a wonderful gift for the business professional – or anyone!

Perfect for folks who use a touch screen device and yet want a pen handy at all times to put down their John Hancock on important documents. The benefits are twofold, but unfortunately so are the cons. Lose your KeyPad Pen and you lose the functionality of both as well. Still, at $19.95 a pop, it ain’t too expensive to replace.

Calculator Spycam can do the math on spywork

by Mark R

From what I’ve seen of James Bond lately, he doesn’t seem to visit Q’s lab anymore. If this new Daniel Craig James Bond should ever drop by Q’s lab in the new film that comes out in November, he might be impressed by the Calculator Spycam.

Yes, the calculator Spycam is exactly what you think it is, a calculator with a miniature camera mounted on it. While I’m not certain whether the side is a good spot for the lens, it would be the last place most people would look for it.

In addition to the handy calculator, the Calculator Spycam comes with some other bonus features. It comes with a 2.4 inch LCD display for viewing, and it can store of up 2GB of memory via SD cards.

Duo wireless electronic input pen

by Edwin

IFA 2008 is certainly an event to participate if you’re in Europe with a penchant for the latest and greatest in consumer electronics. Penandfree has taken that opportunity to release a new next-generation wireless electronic input pen known as ‘Duo’, enabling users to write both letters and figure on a display of a non-tablet monitor (up to 22″ in size, although I’m not too sure why the size limitation is there). Penandfree claims that their solution is 10 times more affordable than a standard tablet monitor, so it will be interesting to see which organizations will pick up such technology when it is available in Korea at the end of this month.

Brother introduces a couple more printers

by Edwin

Brother isn’t exactly the number one name that you would normally associate with printers, but then again they do have some pretty decent offerings in the past and currently. This time round, Brother has rolled out a couple of models under the Professional Series banner, featuring all-in-one color inkjets. Those seem to be the most popular type of printers these days, since everybody wants convenience in a single device. Of course, the downside would be, having the printer break down equals to disaster since you would be devoid of the other functions and features as well. The two printers we’ll look at today are the new MFC-5890CN and MFC-5490CN models.

Add a few drops of water to the removable battery and insert it in the calculator for up to three months of use. When the display begins to fade, just refill the battery! It’s more reliable than a solar-powered calculator – and friendlier to the earth, too.

R2-D2 Mini Fridge does hot and cold

by Ally

If you have a little extra cash to burn and have a thing for R2 you might consider one of these R2 mini fridges.  R2 has come in the form of a great deal of gadgets, mostly because he’s the most fun to recreate.  Yes, Yoda is awesome, however, it’s harder to create gadget after gadget in his image. Something created as a robot is easier to pull off and well, no one wants any C3P0 gadgets.  He just nags too much, plus he’s so tall and skinny it would make it difficult to use him for anything practical.

Boynq Newton’s Cradle USB Hub Ultimate in Nerdiness

by Mark R

Anyone remember the Newton’s Cradle? I seem to recall this contraption on every businessman’s desk in the seventies and eighties. It was usually made up of five marbles, strung up on two strings each. Lift one marble up and let it go, and it strikes a row of them. Then a marble will move on the other side. I believe it is supposed to demonstrate how every action equals an equal and opposite reaction.

I can’t think of any better application of Newton’s cradle than putting it in a USB Hub form. Boynq has done precisely that, and put on 4 Hubs. This is odd, because most Newton’s Cradles traditionally have five hanging marbles. At least the ones that I remember, anyway.
