Just how much do you think you will need to fork out for the Galaxy Nexus? We are looking at a $299.99 price point with a new two-year customer agreement, of course. What is so special about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus? For starters, it will be able to let you browse the Web, stream music and do much more at blazing speeds thanks to Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network, where you can experience fast download speeds of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps.
Not only that, this is the first smartphone from the Android-powered community that will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box, delivering an entirely new look and feel to the world of Android. The Galaxy Nexus will deliver a redesigned user experience with improved multi-tasking, notifications, Near Field Communications (NFC) sharing with Android Beam and a full e-browsing experience. A slew of standard user interface features such as the lock screen, home screen, phone app and others in between have been rethought and redesigned, with Google hoping to turn Android into a simple, beautiful and useful operating system.

Griffin’s Beacon comes to Android
For those who are looking for a Universal Remote, and have an Android smartphone, your prayers have been answered.
Okay, you probably should pray for bigger things than a universal remote for your Android smartphone, but Griffin still has the answer with the Beacon. The Beacon was very popular for iOS, and the Android shift is welcome.
The Beacon is designed to be completely wireless. It doesn’t even need to be plugged in at all, and requires 4 AA batteries for operation. The user syncs their phone via Bluetooth, and then downloads Dijit’s universal remote app to pair with their TV, DVD, Blu-ray, DVR, cable box, and stereo. The Dijit app also comes with an integrated program guide for a touchscreen device for changing channels, volumes, input, as well as setting a DVR.

Sony Ericsson Xperia active is one tough cookie
I know that we’ve seen tough and rugged phones in the past, but none of them are definitely as attractive as this particular Android-powered offering from Sony Ericsson – the Sony Ericsson Xperia active. The name alone does give some of the game away, as those who indulge in a particularly active lifestyle will definitely have moments where they might fall or stumble, or make mistakes, dropping their precious smartphone to the ground (or another classic, sending it for a swim in the loo). Well, glad to say the Xperia active will be able to shrug all of that off non-chalantly, thanks to its water resistant and dust proof case.
Yes sir, another plus point of this unique Android-powered smartphone would be the unique incorporation of wet finger tracking that will make sure that the phone works perfectly, never mind if you have just plunged headlong into a rainy hike, trudging along snowy slopes or getting your adrenaline rush through mud-splattered bike trails. Another interesting point is this – the Xperia active is able to remain under three feet of water for up to half an hour, which is far longer than what any human (or most phones, for that matter) is able to do. Having said that, what’s a wee bit of rain or snow?

iMobifone hits the US
It goes without saying that even though there are reports of cell phone radiation being a possibility of a cancer risk, no one is going to ditch their handsets anytime soon. After all, the phone has already turned into an indispensable everyday tool, where it holds your wallet (for some countries that have systems which support a mobile wallet idea), not to mention is your calculator, pedometer, carries your grocery store list, tells you the weather, stashes your email, and many more – it really depends on the kind of apps that you install on the handset.
Having said that, surely you would have spent far more time on your smartphone than you would have on a regular feature phone (which was the only choice back then, really) back in, say, 1995. Well, if you still have some second thoughts about whether you might just grow another appendage due to the amount of time spent talking on your latest Android smartphone, then perhaps it is time you checked out the iMobifone.

Interactive weather results arrive in 34 different languages
When it comes to predicting the weather, our ancestors of yore did not have the relevant tools, but rather, the sought out a medicine man who interpreted the signs of the sky and perhaps even decided that there is a pattern in the way tea leaves form and congregate at the bottom of your cup to come up with an answer. I am quite sure that such a person would be an extremely observant one, who most probably have already taken note of the seasonal changes while everyone one went about their business before setting up a legitimate claim as being able to “intervene” with the heavens on behalf of his fellow men – for a price, of course.
Well, it is nice to know that technology has propelled us so far forward that weather prediction systems are more or less very accurate these days – so much so that you can trust the reports before going out to meet your friends while leaving your laundry drying in the backyard. Sure, there are times when even the most sensitive equipment will get it wrong, but then again, nothing is 100% foolproof in this world except for death and taxes. Google also has a hand in predicting the weather and delivering its results to the masses – and this time around, Google decided to roll out interactive weather information in mobile search results that will come in another 33 languages – bringing the grand total to 34, of course.
