Clip on! Clip off! The Cliphanger!

June 17th, 2008 by Mark R in Coolest Mobile News, Mobile Phones

Okay, so I wasn’t able to rip-off that old jingle very well. Of course, everyone has heard of the Clapper, but the Cliphanger is just as practical. The Cliphanger is a device that is designed to stick to any mobile device, so you can hang it up just about anywhere.

The design of the Cliphanger is quite unique and practical. On the back of the circular area where the logo appears is some strong adhesive designed to stick to any mobile device such as a cell phone, MP3 player, or camera.

The paperclip-like area has enough space to allow for a camera lens. This clip area can separate in a convenient place so it can be hung on something like a belt loop. The Cliphanger kit even comes with an autohook that can also stick onto a dashboard, and is perfect for hanging your Cliphangered mobile device.

Motorola has new Bluetooth headsets

June 16th, 2008 by Edwin in Mobile Phones

July 1st is the deadline where drivers in California and Washington are expected to ditch the habit of talking on their cell phones while driving if they want to avoid getting slapped by a hefty fine. Instead, they’ll need to resort to hands-free kits in order to carry on their conversations while being stationed behind the wheel, or simply rely on the cell phone’s built-in speakerphone function (if any). Motorola aims to take advantage of the situation by offering a couple of new Bluetooth headsets as both mentioned states join New York, New Jersey and Connecticut in allowing only hands-free phone use behind the wheel.

Hop-On 3G phone going cheap

June 15th, 2008 by Edwin in Mobile Phones

Hop-On’s HOP1809 3G handset is going cheap - cheaper than the 3G iPhone (which retails for $199) at under $125, although I don’t think it will have the same appeal as that fruity wonder.

The HOP1809 compared to the iPhone is smaller in length and width. With true 3G technology, the HOP1809 offers users a wider range of services than ever before. This includes video calls, wireless data, and faster delivery speeds on both the down and uplink, all in a cool looking, lightweight aluminum sleek phone.

You will be able to hold video calls with the HOP1809 since there is a front camera view finder. The HOP1809 will debut in Q3 this year. I don’t know about you, but price ain’t everything as people do want style as well, you know.

The Dark Knight Edition Phone

June 15th, 2008 by Edwin in Mobile Phones

One great thing I love about the advent of CGI in movies is the ability to bring to life characters in a lifelike manner that were not possible before - just take a look at the recent slew of superhero movies and you’ll get what I mean. Another summer blockbuster (or at least that’s what I think it’ll be) would be the highly anticipated theatrical release of The Dark Knight this July 18th, and the cell phone mogul from Finland, Nokia, has collaborated with Verizon Wireless to come up with an exclusive limited “The Dark Knight Edition” cell phone in the form of the Nokia 6205.

June 12th, 2008 by AndrewD in Mobile Phones

So you say your just not ready to jump on the iPhone bandwagon just yet. Your Palm has been working just fine for you, but you wouldn’t mind giving it a little touch-up with an iPhone-like interface. Aside from being a real money saver, it also makes the UI much more visually appealing.

Cell Phone Projectors May Start with the iPhone

June 12th, 2008 by Mark R in Coolest Mobile News, Mobile Phones, Projectors

I think there may be a market for projectors on a cellular phones, and wouldn’t be surprised it becomes a standard feature. The technology is still young, but it might soon be a reality.

Projectors might not be ready to be put inside all cell phones just yet, but a projector for a specific cellular phone might be here sooner than we think.

A company known as Honlai Technology unveiled a model of a portable projector for the iPhone at Computex 2008. I guess 3G isn’t enough for the big Mac, they have to have a projector to go along with it. I guess Mr. iPhone just has to have more. (There’s a double meaning here. Read the label on the projector in the picture and you’ll get it, trust me.)

Survey Says 70% Of iPhone Apps To Be Free

June 11th, 2008 by AndrewD in Apple News, Mobile Phones, Tech News

We’re so psyched for Apple and announcements that a slightly frail looking Steve Jobs’ made at WWDC. Not only is the new 3G iPhone coming to 70 new countries in the coming months, including the UK and Canada, but Apple will be launching their App Store both native on the device and through iTunes.

Wall Street analyst Gene Munster from Piper Jaffray conducted a poll on the floor of WWDC and has come to the conclusion that signs suggest that as much as 70% of the planned applications for the App Store might be available for the price of… free!

3G iPhone is official

June 10th, 2008 by Edwin in Mobile Phones

I guess everybody and their dog now knows that the 3G iPhone has been announced by Steve Jobs and company at the WWDC in San Francisco, but that’s no excuse for not covering such groundbreaking news. Let’s take a look at how the 3G iPhone is set to revolutionize the cell phone industry right after the jump, along with what the handset promises as well as the letdowns that one would’ve expected a year down the road.
