Videos of the What Hifi/Stuff shows

November 24th, 2005 by Marc in Miscellaneous Gadgets

www.cinenow.com contacted us to say that they have some video footage of the recent Best of Stuff / What Hifi show, including a neat demonstration of my personal show favourite the Nuvu screen.

Thanks Bob!

There’s also an interview of Naim concentrating on their new N-vi DVD player / amplifier combo. Having sat through a demo of this I can attest that it’s really rather special (as it should be for over £3,000 retail).

Words and pictures cannot do high end home cinema justice, so if the price doesn’t put you off (or you just want to see how they justify it) get yourself down to your local Naim dealer and prepare to be impressed.

Transcend USB JetFlash DSC

November 24th, 2005 by Keith in Electronic Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets, PC Gadgets

Transcend JetFlash DSC

Are you a Gadget geek? So you usually carry a Digital Still Camera (DSC) wherever you walk? Also, do you bring along a Flash drive (memory stick) wherever you go, to show your fellow friends how “hi-tech” you are? Living on the edge of the technology, have you ever though it would be nicer if you could have one device that performs both functions; to take pictures, and carry your data around.

ashtray

Do you have the desire to quit smoking? Would you like a friend a family member to give up this nasty habit? On the other hand, maybe you enjoy playing practical jokes all others. No matter what your reason this coughing ashtray is sure to be blast.

Just put the coughing ashtray on the table or hand it to a friend the next time they light up in your house. As soon as they use the ashtray, it will begin coughing very loudly. Maybe they will soon get the hint that your home is a smoke free environment.

This would also be a great ashtray to take to work and place in the smoking area, if you have one, or outside where smoking is permitted. Then every time someone uses the ashtray, the coughing and laughter will begin.

Lighting up Balloons

November 23rd, 2005 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Lightup balloons
Balloons are normally pretty light but with these mini balloon lighters (AKA the Balloominator™) they can look as light as they feel.

The Balloominator™ is a tiny LED light (yes LED’s again) that you put inside the balloon, the light (available in different colors) can then be set to other glow constantly or flash repeatedly. The Balloominator™ is so light (weight wise) that it can be put in a helium balloon and still cause a child to cry when they leave go of the string.

Mini Washing Machine

November 22nd, 2005 by Anita in Home Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

washmachine

This cool gadget is one of kind. This would be a perfect gift for college students and mother would sure appreciate it. With this mini washing machine, you will be able to wash a load of clothes without having to take them home to mom. Won’t she be surprised the next time you come to visit and you are wearing nice clean clothes and have none for her to wash? Well, maybe you should bring a load anyway to let her know you still need her.

This mini washing machine is also wonderful for any bachelor or bachlorette that would rather just throw in a small load as soon as they have one ready than leaving them on the floor to take and wash later.

Put a spring in your step…

November 22nd, 2005 by Marc in Miscellaneous Gadgets, Wacky Gadgets

Poweriser
… literally! In the same vein as the pogo stick we previously covered, these powerisers look like a more versatile method of leaping tall buildings in a single bound.

They are attachments that clip on to normal shoes to give you that bio-augmented feel you’ve always wanted ever since you saw Steve Austin run in super-slow-motion :-)

Run at 20 MPH and leap 6 feet in the air - sounds like sci-fi and a few years ago it would have been but these things are available to buy now.
