puzzlemat
How many times have you started putting together a very large 1000 word puzzle and then ran out of time and had to take it back apart to do something else? This can be very frustrating. However, there is good news for all people that love to work on puzzles when they have the time without their work being destroyed each and every time. The answer is the Felt Puzzle Mat.

When you are ready to start putting together that masterpiece, just roll out the high quality heavy felt mat on a flat surface and begin. The puzzle mat is 24 inches by 24 inches, so there is plenty of room for the entire family to join in the fun. Now you can lay out each and every piece of the puzzle and have them close by instead of them still being in the puzzle box. Wi-Fi Gmail / Flickr Enabled Picture Frame

January 6th, 2006 by Al in Miscellaneous Gadgets

eStarling Picture Frame
We’ve reported on digital picture frames once or twice or maybe even 3 times in the past and you’d think that was enough but oh no, I’ve just seen another one I’ve got to write about.

It’s called the eStarling and has built in Wifi so there’s no need to start tunnelling CAT5 round the fireplace (unfortunately it still needs an external power supply so it’s not totally cable free).

What I especially liked about this LCD picture frame is that you can set it up to pull pictures down from an RSS photo feed on Flickr based on your own tagged keywords. Another really cool feature is the ability to email photos directly to the frame. So next time your on holiday leave the frame in the office (turned on of course) and then whilst you’re lounging by the pool take a few pics of the more pleasant eye candy on your mobile and email it to the picture frame in the office. Hey presto your colleague are even more annoyed that your on holiday, what better way to make that holiday feel even more special :).

Available for about $250 from ThinkGeek.

AntWorks

January 5th, 2006 by Anita in Miscellaneous Gadgets

antworks
NASA designed this cool ant colony in the early days of the US space program. The idea they had was for astronauts to take the colony of ants into space to study their behavior in a zero gravity atmosphere.

The best part is that you can now have your ant colony created with the same technology that NASA was planning on using. Your ant colony will live in a jelly like habitat instead of dirt. You will be able to watch your ants every movement. The whole entire container is just the right size for display on your desk, nightstand or on a kitchen counter.

Instead of using normal dirt to fill your AntWorks has non-toxic gel already placed in the container for your ants home. You will have to poke four small holes into the gel to begin the tunnel network. After you have poked the holes, go found around 15 healthy looking ants to give your new ant town a population. All you have to do is place them in the AntWorks and then put on the lid. The ants will do the rest.
