Magellan RoadMate 700 Portable GPS (MG904)

September 3rd, 2005 by Anita in Vehicle Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

gps

One of the coolest gadgets I have seen is a GPS. These are great for all those guys that hate to stop and ask for directions and try to use their male senses to find their way around. Now, they can even have a GPS system that is voice activated, turn by turn. The Magellan Roadmate 700 Portable GPS is easy and affordable to add excellent-quality, talking color GPS to any vehicle you own.

The Magellan RoadMate 700 Portable GPS offers a 10GB hard drive that has all major city streets and roads for the United States and most of Canada. You will be able to select the shortest route by time, shortest distance, fewest freeways, or if you prefer mostly freeways. The auto re-route will even determine the best new route if you accidentally miss a turnoff.

Sumo Costume

September 2nd, 2005 by diceman in Sport, Wacky Gadgets, Miscellaneous Gadgets

As a kid growing up in a small town in northern Canada, my aspirations of becoming a world ranked sumo champion seemed unattainable. However, thanks to the Inflatable Sumo Costume, my dream is closer than ever. Now I no longer have to stuff my face with Twinkies or walk around the house in my underwear to prepare for sumo domination. Photo of the segway

This unexpectedly comfortable nylon costume comes complete with built-in nappy and a sumo-hair hat for added authenticity. With 4 AA batteries, the included fan will inflate the costume in minutes, adding 20 sizes to your pants instantly.

If you’re looking for something with a bit more “shook” value, why not buy the sumo ballerina costume instead. This model comes fully equipped with an “authentic” ballerina dress. Read the rest of this entry »

24MB broadband here we come…

August 31st, 2005 by Marc in Miscellaneous Gadgets

There are many reasons why I’m glad I don’t live in london but right now I’m starting to think it would have some upsides! According to The Register, be is taking applications for a 24mb broadband service based on ADSL2+. I have no idea what I’d do with 24mb/sec but that’s not really the point is it? :-)

If you’re lucky enough to live in London you can sign up here

(OK so that wasn’t really gadget related, but it is cool!)

iTunes phone on the horizon?

August 31st, 2005 by Marc in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Rumour has it that Motorola are due to release an iTunes compatible phone in the not too distant future. Does anyone actually listen to mp3s on their phone? You’ve been able to do it for a while but as with a lot of nice ideas the actual implementation so far has been pretty poor on the models I’ve seen, at least compared to the useability of dedicated MP3 players.

I can see why it would be convenient though and I’m sure that with the iTunes brand behind it this one will do well. I’ve not seen any photos or specs as yet - watch this space!
