“Gadget Or The Girl” Seems Like An Easy Choice

August 14th, 2008 by Mark R in Gadget Humor, Miscellaneous Gadgets

Set your TiVo for the Playboy channel on Monday, September 1st, at 7:30 PM EDT. Let this be known that I’m not prescribing a recipe for a cheap soft-porn thrill, but a new reality show called Gadget or The Girl.

The premise of this show is exactly what the title suggests. The rules of the show is that a contestant is given his choice of three beautiful women, and he can take two of these women on a date. Eventually, he chooses one beautiful woman to spend the evening with, but there is one final choice after that.

The contestant is told that he can either go on a romantic getaway with his final choice, or take home a new gadget, presumably to keep. Like Let’s Make a Deal, the contestant will have no idea what’s in the box until they are willing to bet all.

Cybertek Wings

August 13th, 2008 by AndrewD in Miscellaneous Gadgets

There are some gadgets that just “work” without having a real purpose other than looking cool. The Cybertek Wings are one of those gadgets. They won’t gift you with the power of flight and they won’t give you angelic powers, but they sure as hell make you look really, really cool.

Built out of carbon fiber and extruded aluminum, the pneumatic powered Cybertek Wings just look crazy cool. The images speak for themselves. You can even add a custom twist to your wings buy ordering your choice of colored wingtips, which activate when the wings expand.

Miracle Berry Fruit Tablets turn sour into sweet

August 13th, 2008 by AndrewD in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Imagine taking a bite into the most sour lemon you can possibly conceive of. The thought alone will likely make your mouth pucker and your tongue tingle. I love the flavor of lemon, but if the juice isn’t diluted, there’s just no way for me to eat a lemon without taking one bite and spitting it right back into the trash.

The Miracle Berry Fruit Tablets magically makes sour and bitter foods taste sweet. Similar methods have been around since at least the 1700s, yet science is still yet to figure out a true cause of this effect. It has something to do with a protein called miraculin, but that’s as far as science has gotten us. ThinkGeek put the Tablets to the test and were so impressed that they now sell them.

Microsoft browser market share drops…again

August 11th, 2008 by Edwin in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Microsoft looks set to lose the battle of the browsers in due time, with the latest results of browser market share being broken down into the following :-

1. Microsoft Internet Explorer - 58.50%
2 Firefox - 18.94%
3. Netscape - 11.63%
4. Google Desktop - 4.01%
5. Mozilla - 3.05%

That’s pretty much a 6.96% drop compared to the corresponding period last year. This is where the strengths of a free market comes in - people get what they want, always keeping the manufacturers (software houses in this case) on their toes as they try their level best to wrest users away from one another. Air conditioned office chair keeps workers cool “down there”

August 11th, 2008 by James in Miscellaneous Gadgets

In the heat of summer, even the most air conditioned office cubicle can be a bit stuffy due to the stress of work and almost always, even with the A/C set to full blast the nether regions of an office worker’s body can get quite stuffy even without that hot secretary walking by. So that makes the Suzukaze Air Conditioned Seat Cushion required office equipment for just about any worker drone, right up there with the cool split keyboard.

Shelter Cart: Live like a luxorious rag picker

August 10th, 2008 by AndrewD in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Hobos might pretend they don’t mind their cardboard homes, but we’re smarter than that. We can see right through their booze-ridden glazed eyes and garbage can stench. Of course, they would much prefer an alternative to cardboard. Perhaps a material better insulated from the elements of nature.

Buried deep in the hobo culture is a sub-branch of homeless life. This hobo demographic is known as the rag pickers. They run around cities, gathering any recyclable material they can muster and turn them in for pocket change. These hobo’s are actually providing a service. They are inadvertently producing a green environment. Wouldn’t it make sense to aid them in any way we could? Aside from buying them a home, of course. The Shelter Cart does the trick, doubling as shelter and a gathering cart for recyclables.

The Goatee Saver gets rid of crooked goatees

August 8th, 2008 by Ally in Miscellaneous Gadgets

I myself have obviously never dealt with the trials of attempting to get a perfectly symmetrical goatee, since, I am a girl.  Frankly, I don’t know how guys do it, I’d either get angry that it’s not quite perfect or clumsily shave more than necessary and end up scrapping the whole thing and going without.  I’m not exactly the most coordinated person in the world.  Well if you do have issues with getting it right or would just like cleaner lines you might give this odd little gadget a try.
