If you’re having issues with getting to sleep at night, there’s another gadget out there that you could give a try.  After all, it’d be better than laying around in a sleep clinic and told to try to sleep while you’re on one of the most uncomfortable beds ever created.  Admittedly this method is a bit strange, but it’s worth a shot.  The LightSleeper actually uses light to help you sleep, which might seem a bit backwards.  If it works though, then it doesn’t really matter how odd it seems.

The gadget projects a light image onto the ceiling.  It moves in a circular motion above your bed and after you follow the light with your eyes for a few minutes, you’ll begin to fall asleep.  If you wake back up again, you just tap the gadget and it’ll start the process over again.  Then after it’s been running for 30 minutes, it’ll kick off automatically.  You can purchase the gadget for £125 or about $209.

Still, this 3D scan data has been put on sale by an anonymous seller for one million dollars. This seller says that: “it [the 3D scan] immortalized him at the age of 37, before his nose was disfigured and when he was in the prime of life”. Really? The prime of his life was in 1997? I would have thought it would have been during that “Thriller” or “Bad” era.

So what could this data be used for? What about making a Michael Jackson robot, like the type in Moonwalker. Maybe if holographic technology gets better, we could live to see the day when Michael Jackson struts on stage again.

Man, I just can’t believe this. I’m actually talking about using technology to bring a dead music idol back to life. If you want to see a CG version of Michael Jackson, this video on YouTube was made by some fan. Until then, This is it. (Get it?)

These cell phone charms are specially programmed to spin and light up in reaction to the frequency emitted by a ringing cellphone. They might be a wee bit more expensive than normal though with the Star Wars Cellphone Alert Charms going for $9.99, but being a fanboy certainly has its price to pay, eh? Bear in mind the Star Wars Cellphone Alert Charms only work with 800 – 1600 MHz GSM network handsets and require a trio of LR41 batteries to get you started.

However, there is a bed in there, with sheets that are changed with a roller like a conveyor belt. It also has Wi-Fi, an LCD display, and sockets for charging laptops, cell phones, or other mobile devices. There is even a place to stash your carry-ons. Hopefully there is some sort of alarm clock there, because I’ve always had this nightmare about waking up in the middle of an airport and missing my flight.

The plan is for travelers to rent these Sleep Boxes for 15 minutes, or for longer intervals of several hours. I don’t have any word of how much the Sleep Box would charge for this, but since it is in an airport, I can’t imagine that it would be cheap. Perhaps the better question is: “How much would you pay for some good sleep?”

Well, this is still a concept for now, but I could easily see these Sleep Boxes in every airport. If it ever does get implemented, I would be very concerned if I see two people walking into a Sleep Box together. I guess they are trying to join the “Mile Low Club”.

I suppose this is why the Fridge Locker was invented, to keep that pesky roommate away from your cold hard stash. Yes, that might settle a dispute between you and your live-in friend, but you might hear this bit of whining afterward: “A Fridge Locker? Aw man, it’s like you don’t even trust me”.

The Fridge Locker is also good for parents who want to keep their kids away from the snacks before dinner. It comes with a combination lock that can be set with any combination, so use a number your kids and friends won’t guess off the bat.

I also thought of another use for the Fridge Locker. A place to lock away unhealthy snacks so you can lose weight. Of course, you would have to let your roommate set the combination. I’ll bet he or she would probably eat your food. Your diet is now a success.

Of course, I don’t know how much food you can fit in this Fridge Locker considering it only measures at 7.5 inches wide, 7.5 inches tall, and 11 inches deep. That’s just enough space to take up a lot of refrigerator real estate, but not enough to hold all of this week’s food.

Granted, that audience is not me, but here’s how it works. The mirror portion of this device is battery powered, with 4 AA batteries that can be stored safely in a waterproof compartment below the mirror itself. These batteries power the two 1.25 inch speakers which are actually louder than you might think.

The mirror wirelessly syncs with a cradle for an MP3 player for a range of about 100 feet. This cradle can be plugged into the wall with the included AC cord, or use 4 AA batteries. As long as you have a long playlist playing, you should be able to enjoy your tunes in the shower.

Unfortunately, the controls on the mirror are only for the volume and the radio, not for the MP3 player itself. Yes, the Mirror can also play the radio, and the station as well as the clock function displays itself on lovely blue numbers on the mirror itself. This Fog Free Mirror comes with a suction cup hanger so that it affixes well to a larger mirror or smooth surface.

My only complaint is that this device had an odd way of plugging in my iPod classic. See how it looks like it just mounts there effortlessly in the picture? That actually isn’t the case. I had to put my iPod classic in there upside down and backwards to get it to work. I’m serious. It might work better with an MP3 player with a more convenient headphone jack.

Other than that, this is a product that allows users to listen to their tunes safely in the bathroom, and is available at the Sharper Image site for $69.99.

Treadmills and I don’t exactly get along and I imagine I’m not the only one that detests them.  My hatred started after a back injury, the jarring steps you take on a treadmill hurt far more than they help when you’re injured.  Well if my gym had one of these treadmills I wouldn’t have had that problem.  This Anti-Gravity Treadmill makes it feel as if you’re jogging in zero gravity.  That makes it ideal for anyone with an injury that keeps them from jogging.

Although jogging on the moon isn’t exactly a feasible option for most of us, it still seems like a fun idea.  This treadmill is probably the closest the average man will come to that.  Most people with injuries learn to exercise in other ways, like in the pool or my personal choice is an elliptical machine.  If you miss your precious treadmill though, this would allow you to get that experience back.  Sadly when it comes out next month, it’s going to be out of most of our as well as our gym’s price range.  You’ll be able to find the AlterG M300 for $24,500.

It would be nice if after all these years we finally each had real lightsabers.  Pathetically, despite that the first movie came out a touch over 30 years ago, scientists still haven’t managed to do that.  They’re far too busy creating studies on how the internet is damaging our brains or corrupting the youth.  Well since we can’t carry real lightsabers, you might as well carry a small toy one that has one almost practical function.

I have come across some people that just ride their bike in the dark with nothing more than a single reflector on the back.  Which for drivers can be a little nerve wrecking, since no one wants to hurt a bike rider due to lack of reflective gear.  There are times that you should use a little something extra to make sure that drivers can see you clearly.  Well these pedals will definitely help things along, since they light up brightly.

When something is designed that is so obvious, you have to wonder why it took so long for someone to come up with the idea. This is the case with SNOWSHORTS, which takes the idea of a cardboard box and marries it to skipants. HUH?

As a kid, we used to take cardboard and climb up to the top of a snow covered hill to barrel down it at breakneck speed. But with Orvis Pull SnowShorts, the designers have taken a hard plastic shell and attached it to the hind end of those ski pants, thereby marrying the toboggan to the tobaganner. Well, shorts anyway. Kids can pull the hard shell behind shorts over their cold weather clothes andhead off to fly down a snow covered hill. No need for cardboard, no crying “rosebud” at the end of your days. But a good bike helmet may be a good idea to avoid contact with a nearby tree.

Snow Shorts let kids fly down snow covered hills without the need for anything else but their butt.

It’s becoming more and more difficult for artists to sell physical CDs.  Not only just because of pirated copies, but because of iTunes as well.  Well AC/DC is trying anyway and with the box set that they’ve put together, they might actually succeed.  At least they’re bound to appeal to the amateur guitar players out there.  Instead of merely releasing a set of their finest CDs, they’re including an actual working guitar amp.
