DIY Pulse Laser Gun looks like it was sent from the future

by Mark R

This Pulse Laser Gun may look like it is from the future, but believe me, it was just recently made. The gun was a DIY project that has a small pulse laser head and generates a kW-pulse of infrared light. There is a video below of it shooting a balloon, but it can blast through plastic, razorblade, and even 5mm of Styrofoam. It has a range a 3 meters, and …

SWATS – Wearable Gunfire Detection

by Julie

Last year, in Afghanistan alone, enemy shooters have killed or wounded more than 4,500 U.S. troops. Enemy fire has been particularly difficult to pinpoint, because the shooters fire from hills, mountains, rocks or villages. Any inability to determine an exact location, costs countless lives. Enter SWATS (Shoulder-Worn Acoustic Targeting System) a $2,000 device that’s about the size of a wallet, weighs less than a pound, and contains technology that can …

Teach kids about shock weaponry with the Toy Tazer

by Mark R

When I heard about this toy tazer device, I couldn’t help but think of the scene in The Hangover when the three best friends had to be shot with Tasers as part of some educational assembly for children. As I recall, some of the kids shot these grown men. I remember thinking that the scene was completely unrealistic, and that is no way to teach kids about shock weaponry. Fortunately, …

Mega Hurtz Paintball Robot

by Mark R

Before you start panicking at the sight of this monster, you should know that it is made to shoot only paintballs…for now. This is the Mega Hurtz, and this battle-bot is designed to be piloted by remote control to take out as many paintball baddies as possible. It was designed by Chris Rogers, and it is equipped with video cameras and a remote with an LCD screen. I realize that …

DIY Modder makes ammo counter for weapons

by Mark R

This is an ammo counter that was built by a DIY modder named Michael Ciuffo. As you can see, it resembles those ammo counters that you see in a lot of FPS games. Some of you might remember that Ripley had a digital one on her futuristic rifle in Aliens. The gun can be used on a lot of different weapons. I wish that I had a list of armaments …

Check out this R5800 Solar Death Ray, built by 19-year-old Eric Jacqmain

by Mark R

What you are seeing here is a “death-ray” made by gluing 5,800 tiny mirror tiles to a fiberglass satellite dish. According to my Source, it is powerful enough to “melt steel, vaporize aluminum, boil concrete, turn dirt into lava, and obliterate any organic material in an instant”. Believe it or not, it was built by a 19-year-old named Eric Jacqmain who wanted to prove how powerful the sun’s energy is. …

EVD-01 Emergency Disaster Vehicle from Daiwa House

I’ve discovered a way to survive the coming apocalypse with Japanese home builder Daiwa House. They have created the EDV-01 or Emergency Diaster Vehicle that can be ready in four minutes with just a touch a button. The house has two floors, a restroom, small kitchen, beds, shower, refrigerator, LED lights, as well as a satellite-powered data transfer for use of a cell phone and PC in an emergency. The …

BAE Systems creates e-ink camo for tank armor

by Mark R

I have heard of stealth technology under development for years that uses some sort of cloak of invisibility reminiscent of Harry Potter. I suppose someone wants the car that James Bond drove in Die Another Day. You know, that one that could turn completely invisible? I believe that Q summarized it as having cameras on one side that project an image on another. This design from BAE Systems is essentially …
